It seemed as if my door to door skills were completely ineffective. Now I'm thinking that my "stance" is a problem. I had been starting out by squaring up to the homeowner, then immediately dropping back into a 'Karate Kid' crane style fighting stance. I'm going to switch up my strategy from here on out though! 😉

Thank You, Thank You, Thank you for making this video. I've watched so many videos and none of them were as detailed, clear cut, and concise. I've recently started my own window cleaning and pressure washing business, and have went D2D, and to store fronts, and I'm looking back there are some things I need to change. I mean I always smiled, and came off friendly, but the head nod, the eyebrow raise, and the pause is what I needed. Thank you again for this valuable advice and information.

I typically start but just smiling, saying hi, asking how they are and using a mutual topic. Be it weather, or if they have dogs, how the day is.. etc.
I used to start with my pitch, but getting to know said person and treating them like a friend is what has always brought me people.. and those people know people and then send me over.

You’re the guy who calls the cops on door knockers when you could easily add a no soliciting sticker

It is mostly but for some contracting type jobs it is best. The industry’s plagued with distrust so having a direct personal connection provides a lot of comfort and reassurance.

Nothing worse than someone knocking on your door to sell you something, far to intrusive.

None of this stuff will work with me- I don't want to be disturbed, I don't want to see you, I don't want to listen to your tired spiel, and I'm not parting with any money to a doorstep seller. So best thing for you- don't waste your time, just DON'T KNOCK!

An average D2D salesman will sell 10% of people and make A LOT of money. 90% of people will say no. You’re not special. You’re a part of the 90%.
