OMG thank you so much for this video! I hate assembling things because no matter how easy it is, it's hard to follow and I'm usually frustrated and assemble things incorrectly. You made this so much easier for me.
I just got one box today and opened it to see there were no instructions at all except for the remote control. I felt like I was going to break it in three different places and I had no idea I was supposed to take the black tip off at the top, lol. Yours was the very first video I clicked on and I don’t need to look at anything else. You explained it so perfectly from beginning to end. And I love that you showed us all of the examples of the set ups and with the lights on compared to when you only had that one table lamp on. Thank you so much. This is amazing! 15:04
was looking into getting this light and wanted to see reviews of it. Out of the videos i watched, yours is the only one i found that use the light in the way i was looking to use it, with an RGB light in the background. thank you for a VERY educational video!
Thank you for such an honest review. Good job. Mine are arriving tomorrow. Just one thing, we were not able to see the colour temperature because your iphone camera was set on auto so it was balancing out each temperature evenly.
Great video!!! I want to get these lights but I can't find the shipping weight anywhere. If anyone can tell me their weight I would be completely grateful.
I have three of these and I am having a difficult time changing the settings on just one light at a time. I can get it to work eventually, but then my other light settings are messed up. I’m going to try putting the remote in a paper towel tube and see if that helps.
@@jenuds ok thank you! I tried the paper towel roll and it actually works lol. So, I was able to get my lights setup, and if I angle the remote just right, I can turn on/off all three at once.
You can use them both for sure. To change the intensity on each, I have to cover the remote of something so other light won’t get the signal or it won’t change and only the 1 I’m pointing at. Other way would be to set intensity on 1 then turn it off. Then turn on the next 1, then set the intensity (don’t turn off the 2nd 1. Now turn on the 1st 1 as it saves the last setting you made on the 1st one
As per experience, once you install batteries on it, it should work right away. Anyway, did you turn on first the switch attached to the light then you can use the remote to turn on or off or change color temperature.
I know that there’s “rules” and then… also, don’t be afraid to try different stuff. However, if I have one Mountdog and another light from another mfg. Aren’t there times when we’d need to match temp?.. how do I match temp here?.. just “eye-it-up”?
As I mentioned on my prior respond to your comment “You can use them both for sure. To change the intensity on each, I have to cover the remote of something so other light won’t get the signal or it won’t change and only the 1 I’m pointing at. Camera was set to auto so it was correcting the color change and the brightness. You can get an idea of color momentarily during change but camera corrects soon after.
@@mthomasiv A few ways of they’re both on. Sometimes I have cover the remote from the other light if I want to change the other one. Sometimes I would move the other light a bit farther from the other light, then change the light temperature, then put it back. If they’re not close to each other, you don’t need to move it.
Good job! Don't worry about "incorrect terminologies". The bottom line - I watched you video and put mine together in 5 minutes. That's what counts!
Thank you
Same here! Taking that little cap of the tripod was something so simple but I didn’t figure out to take it off until I watched this video.
This video saved my time, you are such a good teacher, thank you.
Thanks for the compliment. My pleasure to share

I think you have the diffusion sheet inside out. i flipped the edges of mine around and it secured to velcrow a lot better
Thank you. I’ll try that.
Haha I did the same with mine. Gonna flip them now.
Right.😇 Thanks to Courtney, I had flipped mine as soon as I received her comment.

Very good information and equipment, thanks for sharing!
You’re most welcome
My remote doesn’t appear to be working. Is there something specific you have to do it to get the lights to turn on/adjust colour temp etc?
As per experience, once you install batteries on it, it should work right away. Anyway, did you turn on first the switch attached to the light then you can use the remote to turn on or off or change color temperature.
@@jenuds thank you! I think I was expecting the remote light to turn on. I realized I needed to be closer to the soft box light to get it to work :)

Is there a way to control the lights independently? I saw a review that said each remote is only supposed to work on the light it came with.

Lighting setup for video starts at 7:00

Does the remote control both lights separately or it changes them both at the same time? Can they be changed separately?
You can control the light separately or the same time.
@@jenuds when both lights are on how do you go about using the remote to control them at the same time vs. controlling them separately?
@@mthomasiv A few ways of they’re both on. Sometimes I have cover the remote from the other light if I want to change the other one. This video is honestly just a demonstration of how fast and impressive iPhone's auto white-balance is
Sorry I’m not really a pro on camera and lighting, just sharing. Then this must be the video output when iPhone’s audio white-balance is set. Thanks

Please turn off Auto white balance from your camera. We cant see any differences

@TonTonTon140 No worries. You are right. I realized when the I received the first comment like yours😊 thank you
"Something like that"
👍🏻
Is one light bright enough for amateur studio portrait photography?
Actually on most of my videos so far, I only use 1 light and I sometimes I just use a little fill light on the other side.
Great video!
I’m not really a pro on lights but thank you
