If it removes the clear coat it will remove the base coat to! There is no way some kind of "remover" knows the different layers of paint on a car and stops just at the clear coat. THIS IS FAKE!
Technically, base coat and clear coat are chemically different…so if it attacks only one chemical that’s in the clear and not the base coat, this could be legit.

No, it removes varnish. So it's primarily for furniture, or the occasional car that's been varnished.
Yes clear coat failed layer removed. But recommended to spray a new clear coat to protect the paint again.

I get it when folks want to show off a new product but that’s urethane paint not single stage. Thats way there’s clear coat right? Without a clear the paint is naked and will start to peel. Once the clear is this bad then all you need to do is put a bit of heat to it and it peels up like a snake skin especially when using a rotary. You must replace the clear or repaint it with single stage. 80s up to mid 90s vehicles were known for rapid clear coat failure. As you may know the modern Escalades are even worse. With this method you can tell what you’re really removing. But it was your call , your customer.
