I'm going to disagree. I don't think Otto Hightower wouldn't push to have one of his grandkids on the throne. He would try to start tension between boy!Rhaenyra and Viserys. Maybe Aemma doesn't die in childbirth -- but with her body being weakened by various difficult pregnancies -- she can still die. Remember, Otto still has his brother whispering in his ear, trying to push the Hightowers even higher. Alicent is still in play as a second wife to Viserys. And Otto has enough vanity to want to see his grandchild on the throne. And especially if boy!Rhaenyra marries someone like Laena Velaryon! Otto will not want to see the Velyarons rise above the Hightowers. Or suppose boy!Rhaenyra marries one of the (book only) daughters of Lord Strong? Also, if Damon takes a hand in raising boy!Rhaenyra? He and Alicent will not be close because of the rivalry between Otto and Damon.
While he is ambitious. Otto is a practical and careful man who attempts to work within the system. Hence him trying to push for Aegon II to usurp Rhaenyra is based on the Westerosi tradition of a son inheriting before a daughter. In this timeline, he has more reason to stand up to Hobert if Rhaenyra is a male. If a betrothal is made between him and Alicent. Otto practically has everything he wants. His daughter is the future queen and will have time to grow into the role and any potential children would have Hightower blood in them. If Hobert tries to pressure Otto into making Alicent Viserys's queen, then he can argue back that it would cause more problems. As any children they have would be behind a male Rhaenyra in the line of succession.
He would rule and no one would question it because...sexism. Also, Aemma might still be alive because she may not have gone through so many subsequent pregnancies in an attempt to "give" Viserys a male heir if he already had one. (Of course, they always wanted "an heir and a spare" to be on the safe side.) Also, if Aemma had lived, Otto wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to shove Alicent toward Viserys. No marriage to Alicent = no dance.
He still would’ve wanted more heirs just as when he named Rhaenyra. He told her he had to make more heirs he couldn’t just leave the line to one person in case she died.
@@iprobablywontseeyourreply.7193 - If Rhaenyra had been a boy, then he could have helped his parents. As far as succession is concerned a male grandchild born to the king's oldest male child as good, actually better, than the reigning king having a second son. A 15-year old male Rhaenyra could have married a 15 year-old still female Alicent and started knocking her up then. Every child born to her would take pressure off of Aemma. If she had a healthy boy then there would be 2 generations of unquestionable succession alive after Viserys, thus no succession crisis.
In this scenario, I'm pretty sure mRhaenyra and Alicent will have at least five children, like they will be the new version of Jaehaerys and Alysanne. And the dragons that have an important role in the Dance, like Sunfyre, Tessarion, Vermax, and Arrax, will be mRhaenyra and Alicent's children's dragon for sure, or maybe they would go claim the unride dragon like Vermithor, Silverwing, and Dreamfyre.
Potential dragons aegon could have. Aegon could have syrax like in cannon, or he could claim vermathor after jaehaerys dies. Or he could claim vhagar after vhagar before laena does. Laena could have syrax
Even if MaleRhaenyra was boinking Daemon they would never have childeren together so that would not matter. The best thing Daemon could do is to get one of is daughters to either marry MaleRhaenyra or get a baby from him. A great bastard.
The Seven Kingdom would be completely and utterly destroyed, Aegon The Conqueror and Jaehaerys The Conciliator would strangle Daemon and Viserys in the afterlife.
Hey, heres the thing. We have aegon as heir baelon as the spare and rhaenyra is still the realms delight. aegon claims sunfyre Rhaenyra still has syrax Baelon claims tesserion
Born a boy he would probably be named Baelon Targaryen or Aegon for sure. And he would be married with the lady Laena Velaryon uniting the two houses. Laena being the rider of Vhagar, the largest dragon, would solidify the rule of the targaryens even more. Their children would be legítimate and the hightowers wouldn't get any power. Aema Arryn would live as she wouldn't have to have another baby. Viserys would probably be happier and healthier for that.
I know it was rejected out of spite, but I always thought it would have been smart to wed Helena to Lucaerys (can't spell hope that's right lol) I know that there's the offense of marrying 'bastards' but they're still targaryean (again spelling not my strongest ability) and it would have just ended so many problems, it probably would have caused loads too but it would have eased the immediate issues surrounding the throne.
It's Jacaerys whom Rhaenyra proposed to bethrot with Helaena, not Lucerys. As Jacaerys is Rhaenyra's eldest child, and subsequently, her heir to the Iron Throne.
I don't think maleRhae would marry Alicent. I absolutely believe that he'd marry Laena Valeryon, not only to mend any bad blood but also because it's the Valyrian way. Rarely did Targaryens marry outside of the family; only when there were no viable mates in the family of the opposite gender would they marry outside of the old blood. Aegon the Unlikely married Betha because he was the fourth son of the fourth son and he believed that the inbreeding was bad. It didn't stop his son from marrying his daughter even though they were both betrothed to other Houses. I think maleRhae would have married Laena in a heartbeat.
Oh! fascinating idea! female jacaerys would need to be legitimate though or no dice. But the Hightowers may have backed down as Aegon would be assured of being King after Rhaenyra. The realm would have viewed it as Rhaenyra acknowledging and righting the misguidedness of her father when she got the opportunity. It would have won her much approval from the older houses and make her rule easier.
@@livelovelife32Rhaenyra needs Corlys' support as much as she needs air to breathe (because he is the only one who can really expose her), so there is a possibility femJaecaerys would marry a Velaryon. In terms of dragons they have the advantage (meleys, seasmoke, vhagar vs Caraxes and Syrax) but the the support of the realm will be with the Targaryens. Only house baratheon and the stormlands would back the Velaryons
What if Daemon and Rhea Royce had a son?
Otto would have most likely placed Alicent in front of male Rhaenyra instead of Viserys.
@@iprobablywontseeyourreply.7193 Yes, I mentioned that.
@@thegreatpage5912 True!
And the dragons that have an important role in the Dance, like Sunfyre, Tessarion, Vermax, and Arrax,
will be mRhaenyra and Alicent's children's dragon for sure, or maybe they would go claim the unride dragon like Vermithor, Silverwing, and Dreamfyre.
Well then Nyra would have marry Alicent instead and none of the nonsence would have happen
Joy for everyone except Daemon
😊😊
Potential dragons aegon could have. Aegon could have syrax like in cannon, or he could claim vermathor after jaehaerys dies. Or he could claim vhagar after vhagar before laena does. Laena could have syrax
Even if MaleRhaenyra was boinking Daemon they would never have childeren together so that would not matter. The best thing Daemon could do is to get one of is daughters to either marry MaleRhaenyra or get a baby from him. A great bastard.
Pause at 8 mins. There will still be a Hightower queen just married to Aegon cause the kings a fool who doesn't recognize the snake his hand is
What if Daemon was named Heir & Viserys never remarried
The Seven Kingdom would be completely and utterly destroyed, Aegon The Conqueror and Jaehaerys The Conciliator would strangle Daemon and Viserys in the afterlife.
@@ImperatorMatthew I actually think deamon will be a good king
Hey, heres the thing. If they did have more children lets just say when aemma was pregnant in the great councils that Babe lives its a girl she is rhaenyra, and then later on aemma last pregnancy is baelon and both him and aemma live both live. We have aegon as heir baelon as the spare and rhaenyra is still the realms delight.
aegon claims sunfyre
Rhaenyra still has syrax
Baelon claims tesserion
This is my fav timeline since alicent was my fav character in S1 (until she became a hypocrite)
I know it was rejected out of spite, but I always thought it would have been smart to wed Helena to Lucaerys (can't spell hope that's right lol)
I know that there's the offense of marrying 'bastards' but they're still targaryean (again spelling not my strongest ability) and it would have just ended so many problems, it probably would have caused loads too but it would have eased the immediate issues surrounding the throne.
It's Jacaerys whom Rhaenyra proposed to bethrot with Helaena, not Lucerys.
As Jacaerys is Rhaenyra's eldest child, and subsequently, her heir to the Iron Throne.
If Jace wasn't a basterd Alicent would have to seriously consider it show Alicent would probably agree to it and as to book Alicent fuck no
I would also like to comment on how in this timeline male Rhenera would have Otto's full support, especially if he marries Alicent lol
4:20 dose anyone know where that clip is from
Game of Thrones Season 2, I guess, as it's Maester Luwin and Theon in Greyjoy outfit in the room
What if jacaerys was a girl? Would rhaenyra suggest a marriage proposal between female jacaerys and aegon??
Oh! fascinating idea! female jacaerys would need to be legitimate though or no dice.
Maybe Corlys will push Laena into having a boy to the point it causes her death earlier, but if she manages to get a boy the boy will marry femJacaerys beyond any doubt.
@@livelovelife32 But if Lucerys and Joffrey are still born, they or their descendants might still claim the throne later on.
What if daemon and caraxes lived
Alicent would have still tried one way or the other to put her sons on the throne it's would just be harder for you
What if King Viserys was healthy and lived let's say 20 years longer? Still Dance but later on.
More dragons, more devastation.
Alicent would have a teenage pregnancy bc of male Rhaenyra so they would have to get married.
Another what if:
What if Rhaenyra stayed the same, but Alicent was born a man. I feel like it could really change the amount of drama regarding Rhaenyra’s story and bring some interesting threads into the story
Then Viserys would probably marry Laena, which is VERY interesting.
@@KaiHung-wv3ul It sounds fascinating and there might be a video about it already! I myself though was more curious about Otto suggesting that male!Alicent to marry Rhaenyra 👀👀
@@i0xiaY i think they'd agree to it. I mean, even if they have no romantic feelings towards each other, marrying your best friend is better than marrying a stranger. Tho, I imagine M!Alicent would insist for at least one child between them (with Rhaenyra's full consent of course) and he wouldnt be on board to an open marriage, even if he isnt in love with Rhaenyra.
What if Viserys stayed healthy
Actually what about the maester conspiracy. Its obvious king jahareys children were killed by the maesters and power hungry hightowers
What if that boar killed rhaneyra in kingswood
What if corlys refused rhaneyras bastards
For the first one, it's simple, if the boar kill Rhaenyra, Aegon will become the new heir as he's the second in line after Rhaenyra.
Zero dance LOL. Male Rhaenyra would marry Alicent for real and they'd have a bunch of sons. Someone write me this fan fic NOW. Plus if you can pull a Ranma 1/2 style into the fic.
No dance n Male Rhaenyra will probably marry Alicent. N Daemon will still kill his first wife n marry the sea snake daughter
What if aemond survived his battle with damon, just him, not vhagar orcwith vhagar
How? He fell from hundreds of meters in the sky into a lake while being chained to a massive dragon.
@KaiHung-wv3ul I know it's improbable, but what if he was not chained or stabed and jumped off closer to the water
@@mathewdean3334 That'll be interesting. He would be king by that point, and could rally the Baratheons, Lannisters, and Hightowers to continue the Dance.
Man I don't care what gender Rhaenyra/Aegon is xD They gonna wanna fuck with Harwin.
If she had been born a boy, Alicent would still think her son deserved to be king. So he’d have an “accident” that would put aegon on the throne.
But Viserys won't remarry since he won't be so desperate for a male heir.
alicent would've been married to the male rhaegon instead of viserys
Most of your what ifs are fine. This one is not…. The answer to the question is that just would not be any story 🤷🏻♂️
Otto would have her killed immediatky
I don't think so, since Otto's main mindset is just man over woman, and he is not that bloodthirsty (unlike Tywin or Cersei, for example),
has Rhaenyra born a boy, Otto would probably not try to usurp him by put Alicent to Viserys.
Instead, like the video said, Otto might rather try to match Alicent to Male-Rhaenyra.
Part 2 ?
These "what ifs" are getting pathetic now. You are literally stating the obvious.
Not gonna lie: dumbest question since “what if Rheagar didn’t die and named Jim his heir” then the war that followed because this happened wouldn’t have happened and the story wouldn’t be the story. Dislike
Yeah this is such a boring video. Offers nothing that wouldn’t be obvious through common sense, constantly repeats himself, nothing creative, and it’s just dog shit commentary. Pointless video.
