So I been throwing around an idea of a set up for monk to be able to fight in combat unsupported. Interested in bouncing some ideas off of you kinda had an inspired by my monk being last man standing against a certain spell casting swarm at the end of the game. I am interested in the possibility of having as few characters as possible to go through the game.
I’ve tried this as a Scaled Fist 1/Knife Master 3/Sword Saint. No attempts at trying for fancy weapons, just using Kukri. With three sources of AC and the ability to cast Shield and Mirror Image it makes a very sturdy tank and even has enough skill points to get stealth, perception, and trickery so that it can scout, disarm, and then place itself optimally for tanking before fights start. Absolute dog of a character at low levels, though, and ended up using a crossbow even though the sneak attack was lame to get through 3 levels of rogue to get full Dex effect on weapons.

Barkskin was working fine I think. You were wearing the Natural AC +1 necklace and I don't think they stack. So Barkskin should have given you +5, but you only saw a +4 increase because of the +1 from the necklace. Very interesting build. I never knew Monks had kick ass spell powers like that. I may have to roll one to see what I can do with one. And welcome back man! Glad to see you doing more vids.
Hey man, nice to see another video :D Have you played around with a Kineticist Knight but using two handed weapon and going str + whatever you can boost yourself up with using the kineticist bonuses you can accumulate? I had some fun with that and you can create quite the interesting character hehe. Lots of DR, and stat bonuses as you level up! (EDIT: and of course, I hope all is well in life.)

@@ArcaneAgent Didn't flurry of blows got patched in 1.1? There was a bug that you could used it with any weapon but it doesn't work with daggers anymore.
I thought flurry only worked with unarmed and/or monk weapons. Does it still work with a dagger since it's a 'simple weapon' and monks are proficient with simple weapons?
You’re right and it shouldn’t - worked in original NWN too (had a dual wielding rogue monk with a dagger and rapier that did stun on attack - got flurry and dual weapon with -4/-4/-4, -9 etc when your bab was high enough). staff should give you an extra attack too with two weapon fighting, offhand light but it doesn’t (unless they’ve fixed it) - lots of pnp rules that get lost in game making mechanics
That weapon list is for all "named" Sai, and so yes there is only three. The number of random +1+2+3+4+5, Frost/Fire/Holy, et cetera is the same as for any other weapon.
Interesting build, i just built it thought instead of Aasimer i looked at it with a Teifling (Faultspawn) and took the same stuff, thought slightly different order for some abilities and no religion, invisibility, or wings. The stats where about the same: STR 10, DEX 18, CON 10, INT 12, WIS 18, CHA 10 thought lost 1 point in dex to get my int up to 12. I would like to see your take on a Kineticist, either normal or Kinetic Knight. plus something with teifling for base race. I have made 2 different builds with Kinetic Knight and 1 mix build with Kineticist and Sorcerer
@@ArcaneAgent true. it took me a while to do the same, but once i figured it out i made some powerful ones. the two knights i made are fire/water/fire built and earth/water/earth built. the blaster sorcerer i made has water element to it so i dont need the shield spell and can do more damage than a xbow/bow with water blast. Fire is energy type making it a touch based attack. Earth is a physical attack thought it can hit all 3 physical types, plus earth gives you DR/adamantine bonus. Water can be either water (physical) or cold (energy), plus it gives you AC bonuses to either armor or shield type. Air can be either Air (physical) or lightning (energy) types. thought out of all the mixs, only double fire stayed pure energy, the rest go physical even if they dont sound like they r physical. Thought some of the better infusions need double primary element to use. here a wiki guide that helped me a little bit pathfinderkingmaker.gamepedia.com/Kineticist
I don't comment much but I must say I love your builds. I just started playing Pathfinder Kingmaker and I want to finish the game 3 times. Now as a Neutral Good Two-Handed Fighter, next as a Neutral Evil Dual Wielding Slayer and then as a full Neutral mercenary party so I like to look at your builds to get some ideas what I would like in my mercenary party on my 3rd playthrough. I hate that min/max stats to 7 or even 5 and others to 20 etc. shit that other people do in their builds. Your builds are the best because I see you have played many D&D in your life and you know what you are doing :P
@@ArcaneAgent Well I think it is good they pick apart builds even if they are critical as they can improve them in some way or to change something to fit their play style more or their favorite weapons etc. Most important is that cores of your builds are solid so if I would like to try this monk/rogue (not knife master) I would pick Nunchaku and call him Bruce Lee :D +1 flaming nunchuku in act 1 would be ok ;) Or maybe pick kukri as act 1 wererats drop one kukri that is 15-20 crit range but then I can't name him Bruce Lee :P Like I just hated Kaze No Kama in Neverwinter Nights 2 because that build was strong only after you craft your own weapons in the late late game and get all the +stats items so it was a weak build for 90% of the game that could not even carry anything... But just a simple Yuan-ti Pureblood 30 levels of Ranger that used STR and had 2 weapon fighting feats from his class was a blast for me and let me use the best 1h weapons for the whole game and he was strong on every level. Also my own build of Earth Genasi using all 2H weapons Fighter(9)/Frenzied Berserker(10)/Bard(1)/Red Dragon Disciple(10) was a great fun for me and probably some people would criticize it but I don't give a F as I had great fun wrecking everyone. And base 36 STR at max level without items and rage is a nice thing ;) Most important is that cores of your builds are solid and I can look at them and change some feats for others to fit MY play style for my neutral mercenary party that I will try in the future :)
@@ArcaneAgent Yeah I did hate Kaze no Kama with a passion while most people loved it :P I think I'm more into playing fighters/rogues/rangers/paladins than anything else :P
I havent gotten to rushlight yet I guess. My point is that I mainly try not to make a build that hopes it will find amazing crossbows, or greataxes. Unless youve played through the game and remember exactly where you can find that +5 vampiric longsword, I try to make my builds quite generic
Also if you want to take some Paladin levels, use kukri since you have martial weapons proficiency, there are some fine magic kukris in the game and the critical range can help you add some crippling criticals for example.
Crane Wing says you need atleats one hand free. Doesn't this cancel out, when duel wielding? And thank you for actually showing equipment. Almost no other build guides show equipment option.
@@ArcaneAgent Ahh, yes, ty. I see that alot, and kept thinking it was such a waste. Particularly all the unarmed feats, and powers. I see now. Liquid plays to the rescue. Good video. Wanted to try a similar build. Ended in a two weapon fighter with knives master but with ranger instead of monk. For some weird rule raesons that guy could never connect a hit. At least the event logs always showed a miss. Do not know the reason though. He had at least better attack bonus than some of the other characters in the group. Maybe the reason was that i tried the build with the hire mercenary feature in the tavern in the capital instead of using the main char. Btw used double slice and piranha strike in that build but i guess your build is stronger.

What I noticed was that you seem to love Aasimar and rogues :D No problem in that but would you be able to make some kind of build with a Tiefling as well? I love that new race and would love it even more to see you do some nice build with it for a main character. If you really want to make me happy, lawful evil would be amazing :D Anyways, love your videos, take a time off if you need it to refill your energy but know that there's a lot of people who are happily waiting for more videos once you come back ;)
Aasimars are one of the best races. +2 for two stats, spell-like abilities, unique feat which gives you MORE AC, and without any penalty (tieflings has -2 penalty for one stat and +2 bonus to other 2).
No dagger does not work with monks abilitys, it is not tagged as a monk weapon and never has been, thus sai is the only way. I would hope theres crafting or trading in the game that would let you have a +5 sai otherwise why the fuck even bother adding them ? just to fuck the player? Anyhow the monk weapons are - Nunchuk - Sai - Quarterstaff - Kama, That's it.

@@ArcaneAgent About the build, some Crane talents are not supposed to work with double daggers. You need a hand free. I also think that using daggers may reduce your damage compared to unarmed damage at this monk lvl. Try a lvl16 scalefist monk STR based with Dragon style combat and hammerblow stylestrike on +enlarge person. I reach 6d8+1d6+27 damage on first attack and 3d8+1d6+22 on the rest. Seems hammerblow trigger once only, eventhough stylestrike should work twice at lvl15. But damage is still crazy! Instead of dual wielding talents you can take cleaving talents or critical related ones or dazzling display bundle or more defensive ones. I like dazeling display for the lore of the character and cleave is not so important with dragon roar. You can get eldritch sion1/ Dragon Disciple2 to get 3dragon bloodline lvls(+1AC, 5/acid resist and mage armor), +2STR +1AC and ability to cast enlarge person and shield. And for the last lvl, I need to test: Either lvl2 eldritch sion to get spellstrike combat casting combo, more lvl1 spells and +1Bab. I think Combat casting combo gives you 1 more attack (even if touch of fatigue is bad it's a free attack). Either Thug to turn saken condition into frighten, some sneak attack and lot of skill points but you don't gain BaB. Seems good with dazzling display. Monk is so fun to play! :)

flurry of blows only works with the listed monk proficiency weapons. Dagger doesn't work with it only Sai does. You'd want to go sai with this build. Though I agree that there's not many Sais in game. In my game that I'm lvl 13 I've gotten a Sai +1 and a Unique Sai Heartpiercer
9:50 Crane Wing doesn't work with dual wield. You need to have one hand free
I believe Crane Wing was required for Crane Riposte, hence the reason for that. Can't remember though
Hello Arcane agent hope you okay
I’m playing this game at ps4 console so i don’t have the mods for my characters
Can you make Kama user build? I can’t find it anywhere even in internet lol
Oh and do you have good slayer build?
Sorry if my english is bad this is not my first language
I hope you have a good day🤗🤗
Your English is fine! I actually have a paladin monk kama build I am releasing next week! As well as a Slayer Deliverer build!
Arcane Agent thanks for the fast reply!
I really love Rouge and lots of my mercenary is using your builds!
In ps 4 with the new updates i can respec my main characters.I really want tO play with kama
But i don’t know how tO make the build lol
I’m planning tO use this dagger Monk build with Kama but i don’t know how tO make it😰
Can you give me some pointers? I can only use the respec service 3 times for free lol.So i’m not taking chances😓
Oh i really love slayer deliverer too
Can you make it norgober diety with Shortsword? I can’t find many builds in internet with shortsword is that weapon bad?
Sorry if i’m asking a lot lol. i noticed you didn’t make builds video for awhile
Glad tO see you okay though😃
Barkskin was working fine I think. You were wearing the Natural AC +1 necklace and I don't think they stack. So Barkskin should have given you +5, but you only saw a +4 increase because of the +1 from the necklace. Very interesting build. I never knew Monks had kick ass spell powers like that. I may have to roll one to see what I can do with one.
And welcome back man! Glad to see you doing more vids.
Monks can get some good stuff. And you are right i forgot about my +1 necklace
I was looking for this comment before I said anything.
Youre the man
Hey man, nice to see another video :D Have you played around with a Kineticist Knight but using two handed weapon and going str + whatever you can boost yourself up with using the kineticist bonuses you can accumulate? I had some fun with that and you can create quite the interesting character hehe. Lots of DR, and stat bonuses as you level up! (EDIT: and of course, I hope all is well in life.)
See I need to dork with the kineticist . But,first I have to build what comes to my crazy stupid build list mind.
Right now ive got a hilarious build that might be awesome, and people are, gonna hate it
I just wanted to give you a heads up that your about page still lists your twitch account as liquidontwitch.
Well stink. Thanks man I will change that
@@ArcaneAgent No problem, good luck with your stream today!
@@JoshuaCairns I fixed it all, even my links were all old as well
stupid question but, do teamwork feats proc when soloing?
I don't think so but it's something that I might test out
i saw a similard build on the Fextralife channel (i think it was either the youtube channel or the wiki page) called thousand strikes, its pretty similar but uses a sai instead of daggers and a couple different monk skills.
I would love a true neutral Druid build, or a monk with quarterstaff build. thanks for the video!!!!
Neutral druid playthrough would be fun
@@ArcaneAgent it would restrict the build you made because a true neutral can't be monk, but maybe another class can be used instead?
True neutral druid rogue jk. Y'all know I love my rogues
there is a magic Sai in one of the gnome encampments that is present when you first meet Jubilost, it's a pretty nice one too
Yes. But in the whole game at the moment there are only 3 Sai
@@ArcaneAgent Didn't flurry of blows got patched in 1.1? There was a bug that you could used it with any weapon but it doesn't work with daggers anymore.
Dangit
@@ArcaneAgent Best to go with Sais but use the mods Vendor Progression(buy Sais) and Craft magic items(enchant them).
Yes. But not alot of people use those mods, but I believe I will start using them
Sai is a good suggestion. There is a sai that gives two extra attacks.
Tru
Can we get two handed melee builds (paladin, fighter, whatevs)?
Maybe...
I know is a bit late but... why do you pick Crane Wing if you are dual-wielding? It's a
requirement having at least one hand free.
Crane riposte needs crane wing
Ah, ok ok. Thanks =P
I have to figure out and understand the kineticist first hehe
I love these builds. doing a 1 monk. 3 rogue, 16 sorc build with sai and at level 5 i was ~32ac in act 1. basically only hit on a nat 20 1/2 the time
I've got yet another build coming Monday. Been working on it all week
Thank you so much! Seriously a lot of people pick apart my builds very critically.
I also stream on www.twitch.tv/thearcaneagent
@@ArcaneAgent Well I think it is good they pick apart builds even if they are critical as they can improve them in some way or to change something to fit their play style more or their favorite weapons etc.
Most important is that cores of your builds are solid so if I would like to try this monk/rogue (not knife master) I would pick Nunchaku and call him Bruce Lee :D +1 flaming nunchuku in act 1 would be ok ;) Or maybe pick kukri as act 1 wererats drop one kukri that is 15-20 crit range but then I can't name him Bruce Lee :P
Like I just hated Kaze No Kama in Neverwinter Nights 2 because that build was strong only after you craft your own weapons in the late late game and get all the +stats items so it was a weak build for 90% of the game that could not even carry anything...
And base 36 STR at max level without items and rage is a nice thing ;)
Most important is that cores of your builds are solid and I can look at them and change some feats for others to fit MY play style for my neutral mercenary party that I will try in the future :)
@@zarddin ah the kame no kaza...
@@ArcaneAgent Yeah I did hate Kaze no Kama with a passion while most people loved it :P
I think I'm more into playing fighters/rogues/rangers/paladins than anything else :P
I loved kaedrins prc pack for nwn2. Daggerspell mage wizard arcane trickster was my go to
Would like to see an inquisitor animal companion build sometime.
Soon. Jaethal build
15:10 the damage of shout should be based on only your monk level, not your total level
True so like 16d6
i like watching your vids even though i only get a few things out of them, hope your fam is ok bro
Thanks man! Yeah that was some tough stuff we had to deal with back then
Hey man how's it going, I was just wondering is it even possible to multiclass Tristan into something that's not mystic theurge?
Yes, would you like a build?
@@ArcaneAgent why yes I'm very interested, he's been tough to figure that out.
Another great build!! This looks fun to try out.
New build Wednesday . a very janked build
good to see you back ! missed ya bro . btw you should try a monk/ rogue - duel wield javelin for range . out fires a bow user by far
Hehe dual jav barbarian
@@ArcaneAgent ya but a monk you get your ac up to about 47 :)
There are no magical javelins in the game, only Masterwork javelins.
@@ArcaneAgent iv got a pair of +2 javelins . got them one at a time from the same vendor at rushlight i think .
Crane wing was taken for crane riposte, so that you have a little more ac, and you don't lose as much attack
@@ArcaneAgent Ahh, yes, ty. I see that alot, and kept thinking it was such a waste. Particularly all the unarmed feats, and powers. I see now.
I still haven't actually sat down, and looked at the list of feats required, to unlock further feats. Only discovered today, because of your videos, that skills were also a requirement to unlock feats. 250hrs in this game, and still feel like I'm only scratching the surface.
Glad your back, I hope all is getting better for you and your family. I really like all the videos you put up on Kingmaker. I know it's a lot of hard work. but keep on keeping on.
Its hard work but fun work
Liquid plays to the rescue.
Double slice is gold
Afaik double slice needs more strength than 10?
Btw, ever thought of experimenting with an eldritch knight build?
Eldritch knight is in my build list, but all of my builds are unique/weird builds.
So I'm tempted to make a ranged touch attack eldritch knight
Sorry I wasn't one of those who sent you a message, but I greatly appreciate you being back, and go with my support ... albeit a bit late ... but stuff happened to every family these days it seems :(
Anyways, I'll forget my problem for a moment to get some "liquid" fun ;)
Our family is stronger, my wife and I are closer. But man real life hits you hard sometimes
Alright! Subbed, liked, pinky gone and patiently waiting for sorc vid!
Great video as always, had fun watching.
I saw that sorc Cod post you had to edit hehe
Liquid Plays eheheh, that sorc cod would be cool ain't it?
Kinda like Destiny
@@ArcaneAgent sorry to bother - is there any chance that the sorc video is gonna be next? And if so - when? =)
You wanted some abyssal sorc right
Doing a 1 scaled fist, 4 rogue with agi to damage kukris and rest into paladin, awesome AC and saves and cuts ppl up efficiently. :)
I mentioned the Paladin save deal, might make a separate build for it though
I thought you had to have one hand free to use crane style, but your dual wielding in this.
Hey there. I'm watching your channel for a few weeks now and I think I have gotten through all your Pathfinder builds.
What I noticed was that you seem to love Aasimar and rogues :D No problem in that but would you be able to make some kind of build with a Tiefling as well? I love that new race and would love it even more to see you do some nice build with it for a main character. If you really want to make me happy, lawful evil would be amazing :D
Anyways, love your videos, take a time off if you need it to refill your energy but know that there's a lot of people who are happily waiting for more videos once you come back ;)
Lawful evil tiefling barbarian dual wielding mad dog bite build
Aasimars are one of the best races. +2 for two stats, spell-like abilities, unique feat which gives you MORE AC, and without any penalty (tieflings has -2 penalty for one stat and +2 bonus to other 2).
I know :D Its just that I like playing different things ;) Tieflings look way more like being evil than an Aasimar.
Which is why I believe aasimars are overpowered compared to the rest of races
True. Just wait till wednesdays build
I love Supernagical!
New word coined by me circa 2018
Yo!Please do a dualist build! Maby like rouge/fighter into dualist? :D strong shiiiit
I think I did a monk duelist build somewhere. Maybe I didn't, maybe I need to
You still have not done the single most OP starting character :P
Cleric. Done hehe
Damn you make this look easy 😂😂😂
Eh you have to understand some stuff about the game
Lmao i made mine into a slayer/ trickster rogue mix with a enphisis on illusions and traps.
Really made my mc a diffucult opponent to deal with
I hope this year haved much happyness than the pass one ;) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
19:41, you sneak attacked based on the combat log, but you only deal xd4 since your a knife master. I think you have 3 dice so the damage is very low.
no reason to use daggers when you're a lvl 16 monk...just go unarmed and stack the feats for that.
Tru
No dagger does not work with monks abilitys, it is not tagged as a monk weapon and never has been, thus sai is the only way.
I would hope theres crafting or trading in the game that would let you have a +5 sai otherwise why the fuck even bother adding them ? just to fuck the player?
Anyhow the monk weapons are - Nunchuk - Sai - Quarterstaff - Kama, That's it.
Your grounded grounded grounded grounded
another awesome build... like it... Rogue rules....Hell Yeah!!! ;-)
Hope for you, that everything is or will come ok for your family. also like the bible quote´s. go on.
New video soon!
Windows 10 is awful! I've had the same update, trying to insta for over a year, and it always fails, and has to undo everything. I don't know what else to do with it. Windows really has gone downhill for the last few versions. Just pure trash.
I like 10 over Millennium Edition hehe
@@ArcaneAgent I haven't been much of a fan since Vista released.
More multiclass (5+?) builds please.
I think its a shitty build. A normal Scalefist monk, would deal more damage.
I enjoy watching you, but really, please stop drinking that horrible thing and above all, please stop advertising it!
Never. I used to drink Mountain dew and monster ALL the time. Gfuel doesnt have sugar, and only has 25 calories in it
@@ArcaneAgent About the build, some Crane talents are not supposed to work with double daggers.
And for the last lvl, I need to test:
Either lvl2 eldritch sion to get spellstrike combat casting combo, more lvl1 spells and +1Bab.
The idea was twf giving you more attacks per round.
But maybe unarmed monk face breaker would be better
Be diverse in your videos brother you have cod followers as well
