la reunion remplit d’inspiration, et de mélange culturel pour ça se n’est pas que les paysages mais aussi le peuple, merci pour traduire et faire savoir aux anglophones ! ☀️🇷🇪
Im listening to this young man desribe this island and the first thing come to mind is a salad .😂😂😂😂😂yes a salad that you eat.And then I thought how bland a salad would be without tomatoes olives onions and other different things. Each and every veggie that you add has its own idenity and it can be eaten alone but it taste even better when its eaten together.Im thankful everyday that I have imagination. To it is a great thing to have because when someone is descibing something or someplace with enthusiasm like this young man about the Island my imagination become a picture in my mind.I am from a small midwestern city in the USA. But I have an imagination from all over the world😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I would say speaking Creole wasn’t forbidden but using French was a way for the French Gov to keep their "sheep" in line. With creole dialect comes Maloya and is similar to Blues, used as a way of expressing pain, and that time related to the colonizers oppression. Creole dialect united people, but Gov didn’t want that. They couldn’t allow mutiny so they forced people to speak a langage they could understand.
@@evolve_hq For many years Maloya was forbidden. People went to jail for playing this music. Therefore came the culture of "Fé Nwar" (which can be translate to culture of the night) where people would hide at night and gather to play Maloya so they wouldn’t get caught by the authorities.
Viewing from Marseille, France That was an amazing podcast!! I come from an island too: Guadeloupe, where we also have our own Créole, le créole guadeloupéen 😁 and we're not as mixed as La Réunion but there is diversity to some extent. I also have some of my family who live in La Réunion. It's a beautiful multicultural Island... almost the perfect idea of a better world if I may
Seychelles island 🇸🇨 is similar to Reunion island but much on a massive scale of fusion of its people from ancestry of African,Asian,European and Chinese and all Seychelloise families are completely mixed with every family family member carrying very distinct unique features more like reunion.Myself being testimony born from a Kenyan father and a Seychellois mother and a family of completely mixed relatives of all different colours due to the mixed blood heritage and ancestry running in our veins.

You talk about the difference between white creoles and people who were born in Europes but you fail to mention black creoles too (Who werent born in Africa), although they make up a good majority of the population. They are the core of Reunion. Reunionese people also very complexed

I feel the Madagascar part at a personal level. I started worh korean drama on national tv 20 years ago.
Haha! Rafa quoting Nath in this video is kinda magical 😊
Mada lé la!
It’s almost the same in Guyana and other Carribbean countries. The main focus is on Christianity, Islam and Hinduism.
Coexistence 🙏🙏
@@evolve_hq This doesn’t mean that colorism is rampant in our region. People of European descent try to dominate wherever they settle.
