There is a very good reason this is considered the greatest guitar solo ever and that is because it is the greatest guitar solo ever.
The guitar's "escape" from melody rules to a "hysterical" screaming in the end of this solo is by far the greatest guitar moment in music history
its called mans greatest Achievement.
This and Mark Knopfler's live performance of Sultans of Swing for me the 2 greatest solos of all time.
Indeed
This version sounds a little different than the one on CD.
I worked on this tour in 1994. The best i ever did! 600 Technicians Local + Pink Floyd Crew to build the stage. 55 Trucks on the road..............I was 22 years old
I was at the New orleans version. Thanks for helping produce an incredible feat of engineering of art
Wow!!
tait towers?
I'm so jealous-lucky you!!
Good old days! @@stephanierarick2358
David Gilmour's guitar sings it's own lyrics. He is one of the very best of all time.
Fixed it for ya...He IS the best of all time!
Exactly! David Gilmour makes his guitar sing like none other.
The whole pulse concert is off the charts, all of them performing at their pinnacle. Pick any song.
110% spot on man!!!
Quite simply one of the most important things ever to happen to music...Pink Floyd...
He's a legend and a lovely man.
Had my w wife watch this video and told her the first guitar solo is the second greatest guitar solo and then she asked what's the first greatest guitar solo I said wait a couple minutes
Comfortably Numb is one of my all time favorite songs and this guitar solo is my definite favorite. David Gilmour is such a great guitarist! Great reaction!
I recommend listening to Pink Floyd's "The great gig in the sky" from the album "The dark side of the moon"! But also "Shine on you crazy diamond". All their compositions are timeless, as is David Gilmour's playing
Listening to Pink Floyd since 1973, I was 20 then, and still do.
Same here. I was 15 though, and they blew my mind...
The lightng engineer approached David before the show and asked him, "Which lights do you want us to use during the performance?" David looked at him and said, "All of them."
It was shorter than that, he just said "Yes".
If you really want to see ALL of the stage lights going crazy, then go watch YOU BETTER RUN from the same concert (PULSE)
It was the concert finale :)
@@marklunn41The title is "Run Like Hell"...
I saw this concert in Montréal, QC, in May of 1994. A fantastic souvenir. This version of Comfortably Numb has got to be one of the greatest moments in rock music history. David Gilmour's 2nd solo is my favorite of all time. I cannot get tired of it. It gets me on the verge of tears almost every single @#$% time!!!
After decades of practice and performance Floyd reached the heights of their mastery, the defining moment of their skill at this concert, the very pinacle of their artistry with this track.
This song name is "Comfortably Numb." I believe it's about him being nervous before going on stage. A doctor that was there with them gave him a shot to calm his nerves just before starting the show. It is from "The Wall" album, "Another Brick in the Wall" is a different song. I think you will also enjoy it. Pink Floyd was also known for there amazing Laser Light shows as they played.
The shot was for abdominal pain which later on was diagnoses as hepatitis.
Yes! It was before the show in Philadelphia during the In The Flesh Tour (The ANIMALS Album release). I saw them in Cleveland Municipal stadium during the same tour back in 1977.@@firedoc5
Have any of you to seen the movie?
From the same Pulse Concert, check out SORROW and also RUN LIKE HELL.
Seconded!! - AMAZING, both of them! - Of these two PULSE performances, I personally prefer the SONG Sorrow, but the VISUALS on Run Like Hell? - But 100%, each one is amazing! - Oh yeah, Emma will love both of these!... 👍
Actually The Whole Songs Of Pulse Concert 🎶 🎸
A beautiful performance of one of the most beautiful songs in rock history.
For Pink Floyd, as a female singer you should check out The Great Gig in the Sky from the album Dark Side of the Moon. There are some great live versions but for me the studio version is still the gold standard.
At 7:55 the greatest guitar solo in history is started by the greatest guitarist in history. Mind blowing!
Mmmmh i say the solo und "the turning point" is on the same level. So we have two greatest solos by the greatest guitarist
@@markusradner5275 I also say that Sorrow is on the same level so we already have 3
Emma, this song is Comfortably Numb from their 1994 Pulse tour
Proof that guitars can indeed sing!
Greatest Live concert with greatest live guitar solo Ever!!!!!
Doesn't matter how many times I listen to this, it still leaves me shaking my head at what I just saw and heard. The faces and sound of excellence are the only words that come to my mind.
You must check out "The Great Gig In The Sky" from this Pulse tour for vocals incredibly beautiful and unique.
Added!
Also High Hopes from this same pulse concert 1994@@SingwithEmmatoday
Absolutely!
@@SingwithEmmatodayplease do they album version first!
@@SingwithEmmatoday Take It Back, same concert, beautiful song.
This is "Comfortably Numb". This is also an outstanding video!! You look beautiful Emma.
David Gilmour turns his guitar into a living, breathing sentient being.
Welcome in Pink Floyd world !
👋
I hope Emma explores the rabbit hole of this, the greatest band. 🙂
You got it, David is singing through his guitar in a spiritual way
"Time" is another masterpiece gem from them in a similar vibe, an older one where you see them handsome playing in a collosseo without crowd is there magnus opum of progressive music: echoes 1+2 live in Pompeii
Shine one you crazy diamond is another dreamy space song
Looking forward to floyd on with you 😊😊😊
Time is my personal favorite solor (and song maybe).
"Shine On You Crazy Diamond" is another must hit epic masterpiece by the Floyd.
The great gig in the sky from same pulse concert Is a most.
Girls vocals are insanity 😊
Welcome to the world of Pink Floyd, where there are a bounty of incredible soundscapes. I would recommend the studio works however. They are great live, but are masters of the recording process.
I remember way back in the 90s purchasing the original double Pulse CD.. it has a led light facing out and "pulses" a red light continuously. Still remember laying there at night watching it go.. such a great album..
But a right bastard to make. I used to work for one of the biggest media packaging companies in the world and whilst we were honoured to get the job boy were we glad to see the back of it.
Mine blinked for about 3 years!!!!!
I still have mine and I'm using probably my 5th battery now.
She just labeled the video wrong 😃 It's of course Comfortably Numb 🙃
Thanks for the head's up! That was a pleasant surprise.
Relax, she's American.
@@TheMisanthropyOneSeppo's 😂😂😂
The Greatest Group and Song of all time
The Pulse concert is in my opinion the pinicle of there performances
Another favourite song both recorded and live is Wish You Were Here. . . ..it features David singing to his voice matching guitar notes at the end of the song.
pink floyd are a british national treasure pure and utter legends
Seen them Twice in the HHH Metrodome, My dad and I. 16 years old, the first time. Memory that I will cherish forever! 1988 Momentary Laps of Reason Tour and 1994 Division Bell Tour! Greatest Band of all time BTW!
The background singers do such a great job of precisely mapping on to his singing…
Nice, nice reaction, just do the whole concert, best live performances ever 👍
Yeah, it’s official now. I have a crush on you.
Pink Floyd makes reactors numbers fly.
I’m so glad you’re doing this.
😻😉😜
So gled young musicians love and feel Floyds!!!
As others have commented, this song is Comfortably Numb, this live performance was Pulse 1994 at Earls Court. London. I am relatively elderly but this song still transports me. Pulse 1994 was spectacular.
How old do you consider relatively elderly to be?
@@doglifehub I was born before the 1960s..
@g0fvt probably plenty of life left in you yet, then - assuming you weren't born 40 years before the 60s!
@@jackw467 annoyingly a girl I went out with the mid 1970s claims we went to a Pink Floyd gig together, a lot of water has been under the bridge since then for both of us but she has poisoned my mind that I have forgotten!
super big band ,david gilmour is a genuis musical😊👍👍
This is the Greatest Guitar Solo of all time!!! David Gilmore just has that "it" factor. His vocals are so smooth, and when the words trail, the guitar picks up and takes is home! My Favorite Classic Rock Band!
Nice reaction Emma
Pink Floyd legends🇸🇪
I suggest 'I wish you were here' live,
his voice in the solo part👌
You have to hear their song "high hopes " from the same pulse concert...it's the greatest performance of the most beautiful song exists
This has one of my top 5 greatest guitar solos.
it's NUMBER ONE
Emma, please listen to pink floyd the great gig in the sky , (also from pulse)
Hi. I'ts the cry of a child, and the loss of ones childhood. 😪
This is a total mind travel solo and song. One of the best ever recorded. It was amazing to work live. Salute !
I saw this 1994 pulse tour in México City and that night my life changed...
EPIC. Amazing group
I absolutely love this song, thank you..😊😊😊😊❤
Great gig in the sky
Probably the most emotional guitar solo ever, with nothing held back.. let go of the reins and see where it goes.
Very succinct reactions as well 🙌
Any song from the 1994 pulse concert is great!
I saw them perform on this very tour in May of 1994 (I believe this particular concert was at the end of the tour in October of '94 in Earls Court in London). The concert was a truly amazing experience I will never forget. Might I suggest 'High Hopes' from this same concert. It is an amazing song from an album they had just released then (The Division Bell). Great reaction!
My youngest daughter was born that night 10 pm. Skandinavia time. Watch the concert in Copenhagen august 94' together with my girlfriend, and with our daughter in her stomach😂weird, I know, but fantastic. Today the girl is a great Pink Floyd admirer. And the David Gilmore solo was just like in this video.
Arguably the greatest song of all-time.
You can listen to this music loudly or quietly, it is perfect ‼️ best regards from Hamburg
Unbelievable!!!
This is musical poetry .
My favourite song of all time
In the late 80 i read an article in a magazine, Pink Floyd did a concert in Copenhagen, 11 trucks,2 20 feet generator, the rest 40 feet for stage and other stuff
that solo at the end is incredible
From the same concert (Pulse, 1994), other songs to check out would be Sorrow, One of These Days, Time, The Great Gig in the Sky, and Run Like Hell.
So nice to see you with DT 770 Pro headphones for such a great piece of music !
Enchanting 🤘
I was a teen when this came out. I loved them and especially this song.
Others can play it. It was never in thier minds . Greatness never compromised.
Anthem of the world❤
This music makes my soul ache, in a good way.
Those who never have seen the movie have missed something that really is food for the brain.
Everyone who walked out from the cinema was like zombies but quiet.
that is probably the best live performance video of pink floyd. the guiter somlo the vocals the lighting all perfect and a beautiful girl to react to it all, whare could anybody want?
I love that when UA-camrs react to this, it’s always the Pulse Live track. Such a great concert
Masterpiece!!!
One of the greatest guitar solos
Great gig in the sky is a must
I was there three days later than this recording. To this day it remains the greatest concert I have ever been to (and I'm old and have been to a LOT of concerts)!
The child has grown, the dream is gone.
If you like that then you'll love "Great gig in the sky" one of the best songs ever with out any lyrics?👍❤️
Saw the pulse concert at the Pontiac Silverdome. Best concert ever.
Emma, so glad you enjoyed arguably the best guitar solo in rock history. Another song from the same concert, but with an emphasis on "vocals" is "The Great Gig in the Sky". Enjoy!!
There’s a whole lot of Pink Floyd to experience
You'll never see a better guitar solo. x
Every Pink Foyd song/album is an experience!!
Saw Pulse in El Paso, Texas. My wife's 1st concert! Awesome!
they plated 14 nights there in London...the culmination of a year long tour. it was the only time they played an arena...al the rest were stadiums.
You would absolutely love the song Wish you were here from the same concert
Nothing sexier than Emma and Comfortably Numb❣
This concert was incredible. You should check out The Great Gig in the Sky from this album. Also the original version on their studio album Dark Side of the Moon. And one more, my favorite Pink Floyd song, Echoes. Pompeii from 1972(?) and Live from Gdansk, which is Richard Wright's final performance.
a smoke show listening to my favorite band.... its a good day
next up... Coming back to life.. from this same concert
There is just nothing like a Pink Floyd show... 😁
From one older member to a new member, welcome to the family!🇺🇸😎
That second chorus got her 😂. David Gilmore live is like none other. I saw this show in Death Valley at Clemson back in the 90’s. Best live show ever.
I love Pink Floyd ❤ kisses from Italy 😘😘😘
I was there....30 years ago - Out of superlatives
Thank you Emma.
Another Brick in the Wall is best seen in the official video from the movie . This Comfortably Numb from the same LP and movie . This of course Live from London 1994
SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND - Studio Version is an absolute MUST.
Enjoy
