I got my dad to watch this. He was old school and thought rock was evil and Pink Floyd was punk rock lol. I put it on for him and he really seemed to like it, although I couldn't get him to admit it. A week later I got home from school and he's watching it by himself! He said "this David Gilmour is incredible! I love this!". My dad would have been 90 this year......RIP dad

Can we talk about the ability of the guitar as an instrument to convey emotion, like no other? This is why rock and roll was king for so many decades; and David Gilmore was perhaps the best at making his guitar sing, cry and speak in such a soulful manner. It's all in the "bends" that he is so masterful at, that squeezes the last drop of feeling into his playing. Thanks for a great reaction, RR. Love your channel. Cheers!

I don't believe the black strat was that 'beloved'. It was in the Hard Rock Cafe for many years. It was also mucked about with a lot. It had at least three necks and he chopped a lump out of it to put a sustainer bridge in. He joked that the only original part on it when it was sold was the bridge plate. I think he far preferred his red strat or his beat up Tele. He certainly used them far more than the black strat. The only reason it went for so much is that it was the guitar he used on Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here

His guitar work is about emotion whether it be from happiness or pain. His soul, what it feels is shown through his playing. He plays from the soul. He like many of the great ones were not shredders but they took you on a ride that meant something

As a 54 year old whose favorite band is Pink Floyd, I love and appreciate that you love and appreciate this!

Fat Old Sun contains THE greatest guitar solo I’ve ever heard bar none.
