So many people who never even drove one and can't even afford one are saying stuffs like its crappy and unreliable. I dont want it. Well Ive owned one since new and its got over 100k miles now without any problems.
LeeROBD I have to agree, besides a couple quirky issues like the parking brake I have never had any large issues on my 11 RRS. I’m glad I didn’t listen to the online reviews because so far it has been amazing
Interesting. I’ve heard all the bad things people say about range and Land Rovers also. So overall they are pretty reliable? I’m a bird photographer and looking for something to take on trails. Thanks
@@MrGflan Hey Gary, yes I believe Range Rovers are the ones that are getting more bad reputation for its unreliability. As far as most LR3 and Discovery4/LR4 are pretty good if you do regular maintenance on them. My 2011 LR4 is still going strong at 135k+ miles. Only thing that I had to get replaced was one of MAF sensor, TPMS module have to be reset, and air compressor for the air suspensions had to be replaced (i do play around with them all the times. i mean, almost everyday) All fixed under warranty about 5 years ago. Also mine is not a mall crawler either. I have 33 inch nitto all-terrains on and have roof top tent with gears installed and take them off road much as I can. Anyways, they are good in my opinion.
um they stooped making the lr4 in 2016 so its literally impossible for you to have a 2017 lr4. that said I have a 2016 lr4 and a 2005 lr3 both with over 100k miles on them and ill never drive another car again. if you take care of them they will last a lifetime
One of the best SUV i never.had! Is not a vehicle for people who have no idea about mechanics, easy to repair, but if you use dealer of course is very expensive.
I prefer it over the Range Rover. It's less pretentious and has a more rugged look and feel. I've had lots of upscale cars including the Range Rover and I tell people that even if I won the lotto jackpot, I'd still daily my LR4 (V8).
The 5.0 is prone to injector failure (a few thousand to replace all at once)and the timing chain is prone to failure on the 2010-2012s, this is a $7k ish repair at the dealership. The SCV6 that replaced the 5.0 is prone to timing chain, injector and supercharger failure and only gets about 2 mpg better in real world use, owners have reported that in comparison the SCV6 feels sluggish and the 8 speed transmission it came with is dimwitted. The best year to get is 2013 because aren't prone to timing chain failure, cost less than the SCV6 and perform better.
@@MaximumDIYGarage Exclusively 2013. 2010-2012 are highly prone to time chain failure which was improved half way through 2012 (certain Vin number range has the improved design) and the 2014+ have the supercharged 3.0L V6 instead of the NA 5.0L V8, this V6 came with its own new set of issues and didn't drive as well especially when towing according to most owners.
Land Rover doesn't have the best reputation for reliability but it seems to be improving in recent years and if its been well maintained then you may be ok
This car is the worst that can happen to anyone. Buy a Toyota product. It took my savings every year.... Range Rover products have high maintenance strategy. It's best to not buy it.
Tell that to my LR3. 377,000 km on the odometer and going strong. As long as you maintain/service it properly you should be fine. Your statement is way off the mark buddy!

Answer this - why do so many Land Rover owners move over to Lexus suvs?
They get older and want a more relaxed normal car ride. They buy one for their wife and end up liking it.

I just bought a lr4 2010 and it doesnt have the surround camera system. DO you know if this feature was optional when the 2010 lr4 came out?
Yes, this is an optional feature
It probably doesn't have the auto folding mirrors either.
@@DrivenCompanion Its such a shame. I really like that feature.
How much for it? I'm looking for a Landrover Discovery lr4.waitng for your answer ok.

LR4 V6 or SDV6
Defender 2010 - 2015
No, the v6 version are weak. The tdv8 jaguar engine was/is the best. More power better economy less failure
@@comrade-uj5iy would you recomend lr4 2013 ?
