During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHANNEL SEE BELOW: In this channel you will find in depth educational videos of automobiles from all over the world, presented in a more detailed fashion than ever before. Basically, this gives the viewer the chance to view the most detailed 1st person look you can get without going to an actual dealer yourself! Every video is consistent in the way I present so viewers know what to expect in my presentations. I treat every vehicle with the same respect whether a 1960 Chevrolet Impala SS or the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. I film all types of vehicles from past, present, and future while broadening the knowledge of the automotive enthusiast. You will see everything from vintage, brand new, exotic, mainstream, old, etc. I am very proud of this channel and have built it up from amateur videos years ago to what you see today. I wanted to share my love for the automotive world with the rest of the world. Be sure to explore the massive video variety, have fun and enjoy The Driver's Seat of UA-cam!

Everyone is saying how 'outdated' it looks, but I think it's looks fantastic. Tall, boxy, very uncommon. Everything nowadays is too slick and curvy

It’s not that outdated tbh. It’s quite a nice SUV, my mum drives one, and my only complaints are the backup camera takes forever to turn on, the interior is cramped, and the seats are rather firm. It has 105k miles and it is still decently reliable (tho it has made a ticking noise since the day we got it)

So Much Better Looking Than The New Discovery :)
In 2019/2020 They should just keep this OG look and the look of the Discovery Sport.
Throw the other Disco design in the bin. Absolutely horrendous alien looking car

Sad this is the last decent looking land rover/range rover. They are now all neutered bulbous cars, and the new Disco looks like a Ford Explorer. Sad times and Land Rover

Absolutely amazing car. Tons of interior space, amazing off road capability, great gearbox and steering/road feel, really good mpg for its weight and size, and "theater" seat placement makes it literally best 7-seater (sitting in 3rd row is as good as siting in front, which is saying something). Also really fast and has great power delivery (makes passing effortless and can tow up to 3,5 tons). This car has towed my 2,2 ton crappy off-roader few times and while sitting in discovery you can't even feel it's towing anything at all. Our family loves it.
Definitely recommend it if you have a big family and need something like this (it's new price can be quite steep but getting a looked after used one is a great deal). Can't wait for new generation!

I wouldn't say it looks dated at all. Sure new things are nice but new doesn't always mean better. Take the Nissan Pathfinder for instance. It used to be a tough and rugged vehicle that had an old school body on frame build. Now look at the new one, it's stylish for sure but it's basically a family sedan that sits a little higher and would never be able to handle the use you could give the old one.

Vikk 54 Oh give me a break. People always act like Kyle has abandoned his viewers. What would the point be in his current format of viewing old cars that are in bad shape? "Oh let me show you a car that is in bad shape because the idiot owner didn't care for it" doesn't make sense. Now older cars that are in mint condition (which he's done plenty of if you care to search) is a different story. He does old cars but it takes time to find mint condition examples. How about this, why don't YOU take the liberty of finding Kyle good old cars to film and arrange for that to be done if you want it so badly?

This isn't outdated. Its simple, practical, rugged and refreshing when compared to the gimmicky nature of "modern cars". Who wants to navigate a screen just to change their volume or AC? I prefer using simple, easy to access buttons so i can focus on driving instead of trying to find where the volume button is amongst 30 other "modern" features.

+Kit Rocks I have some older cars coming up soon (Chrysler LHS, Honda Civic SI Mugen, etc). Problem is, like with classic cars, it's a niche. I love filming older cars, but the opportunities just aren't there. They have to be of certain quality and condition. The channel has gone toward a new direction that a lot of people enjoy, that's why it's grown the way it has. The trick is balance the type of cars filmed, a much greater variety and price points. It's hard because it's very difficult to please and do it all myself. I'll always try my best though! It's a great problem to have, so many cars to film, just not enough time to do them all.

    • @CoolStuffInWeirdCars

Just bought a 2015 with 38,000miles the other day and it’s perfect! So much better than the new discovery and even the new defender. No bothersome touch screens, everything is where I want it; the back seats are comfortable when compared to the new disco and the back storage is way more than the defender. Did I mention it was half price????

The one good thing about these not being in production anymore is that they're a lot cheaper to buy secondhand. Just from a quick search, I'm finding a lot of them with not many miles that are in very good condition. I'd guess that a lot of them are from the kind of person that model hops every few years.

    I own a 2016 LR4. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Been a LR/RR fan for years. I have owned a LR3,
Disco, and a RR Sport. The LR4 is a beast. Just enough luxury and the classic styling make this vehicle a winner. Just follow the maintenance schedule and you will have a vehicle that will last for years. The new Discovery’s styling is terrible. It’s a typical soccer mom’s car. Looks like any other SUV on the road. I can’t tell you how many people have asked me to sell my LR4. Even my dealer wants to buy it back . Long live the LR4!!!!!

Thinking of getting one of these. They’re getting more and more affordable for the average person since they’re getting older and were replaced with the new Discovery.

This is my favourite Land Rover - I bought my 2016 Disco 4 (LR4) "Landmark" (one of teh last before they went over to the Disco 5, which I don't like) last year with only 34k on the clock and looking brand new, though I have put another 10k on the clock since. I have upgraded most of the fillament bulbs to LED ones - the reversing and fog lights (front and rear) are so much brighter and the reversing lights are like rear headlights so you can really see properly when reversing.

Possible Timing Chain and Head Gasket issues. These Land Rovers have an Aluminum Block that warps very easily if the Engine overheats. There is a aftermarket company that specializes in remanufacturing the Engine to make it Bullet proof. The Engine alone cost: $8500.00
It's expensive, but maybe worth the investment.

I came here after realizing how similar the new Defender is to the LR4. I then looked up prices for 2016s, and I might actually go buy one. $40,000 for 20,000mi down to $30,000 for 90,000mi. Good to know I can buy a low mileage 2016 and drive the hell out of it without losing all that much money on it. I can’t believe I’m saying this about a Land Rover but it might actually be a worth while investment

Oh give me a break.

Peter Von Crastenberg Not one of our friends have had any issues with theirs, one has had it three years now and nothing has gone wrong with it, I am the only one where anything has broke on it and that was my fault, and even then they're covered with warranty. Of course longevity will be an issue but that's just like more and more modern cars fitted with more computers and new technology. Of course things are going to go wrong in the long run. And even if reliability is a huge issue (which it may be in the long run) what other things are they behind on?

The LR4 IMHO is THE best lux SUV IMHO. You (should) be buying a SUV for practical (storage) reasons and a lot less for performance (e.g. Porsche Cayenne/Mican, Range Rover Supercharged). Love the headroom and virtually straight back door. Rare these days since very one is slanting the back door too far FWD sacrificing storage space (e.g. taller/boxy itms).

Outdated my left @ollock.That's a lovely car.One thing i don't understand though,is why Landrover don't make it available with the super-charged v8.Fair-enough,the Range-Rover is Landrover's flag-ship car but if you don't want to look like a pimp, why should you be restricted to v-6 or diesel? The car is not exactly the runt of the litter and lots of people would love the performance without the "yeah look at me" factor

Nice review on my next Truck to add to the Fleet. The first thing for me to do upon acquisition is to install the newer upgraded Timing Chain Kit. Land Rover has a Class Action Lawsuit against them for Factory defective Timing Chain Guides. The Engine will be ruined if the upgraded Timing Chain Kit is not installed immediately.
Its a $8,000 repair at the dealership. For me, I pay zilch for the Labor, because I'm a professional Asian, European, & Domestic Automotive Technician.

Fire. Sometimes I think white is obnoxious, best to go black, grey, too many girls driving silver, white too.
but this looks like a Stormtrooper. Fit for a Prince, like the royalty of Dubai, India and UK who all drive LR.
Im nervous about the reliability gossip, being spoiled by Japanese engineering from the start, but fuk it. Always wanted a Rover.
