Thanks for your comment and question. In terms of machines, using an attachment that allows a wide grip on the seated cable row machine can be an alternative for the rows, a lateral raise machine (if your gym has it) can be option (otherwise dumbbells will be the way).

As I said in the video, I recommend following a programme that consists of both free-weights and machines (also some bodyweight stuff) but yeah machines do build muscle. weight training is honestly really simple. Just move weights with proper technique until failure, wait 2-3 min.. repeat that 2 or 3 times and do that for all major muscle groups about 2x a week and make sure to eat enough protein. Thats it, literally everything else is just bonus points. If you get those basics down you can gain muscle no matter the exact machine or workout program or whatever else.
