      @@TechMadeEzy Thanks. I do have a quick question: if I hook up solar to charge, does it connect to the Smart Home Panel some way or just directly to the Delta Pros?

      @roytaylor4578 directly to each of the Delta pros. So each of the Delta pros can actually handle if I’m remember correctly 1600 Watts of solar but double check that because I don’t have that information in front of me right now.

    I believe you need to remove the jumper on the smart panel to use split phase. That would dedicate a Delta Pro string to 5 breakers each. Also it would allow you to use 240v devices like cook top or ac with a softstar device 😉. Great video by the way... p.s hello Brooklyn.

    My only complaint regarding ecoflow is that everything has to be turned on & off manually it's kinda annoying if you ask me, but again that's just the opinion of one. Thank you! This is very helpfull for my decision process to buy the Smart Home Panel.
    I have a Delta Pro an shortly feeding it with 2S2P 450W Panels.I also have EcoFlow smart dual Generator (a great combination!) My plan was to feed the Pool Pump during summer.
    My Problem with Delta Pro is, that while AC input is connected and Solar Input is connected it is not automatically switching from solar to AC and vice versa.
    I was hoping to overcome this with the Smart Home Panel. Similar to the EcoFlow smart Generator, where you can set limits for charging and discharging. Does not look like I can realise this running my pool with mainly solar automated. Since I am often away from home I can not always manually switch between AC and solar when the weather changes....
    I will check if there are other systems (Bluetti?) where I can realise this.

    I don't know if anyone else mentioned this but your 160 watt panels are bottle necking your 400 watt panels. You end up with 18.2V x 4 panels x 8.8 amps = 640.64 watts. I saw on your ecoflow screen you were getting a little under 600 watts from solar. If you just had the two 400 watt panels in series you'd get 41V x 2 x 9.8 A = 803 watts.

Im all electric, and do not have my electric range, heat pump or washer/dryers on a smart panel circuit. If I automate to have my panel switch to backup from grid every day at certain times, when it is switched is there still grid power going to my range and other items not on the smart panel? Or when it switches, the grid is completely off to everything?

    Is there a max distance the Smart Panel can be from your breaker box? My home has 2 panels, main + sub. Most of the circuits I'd be backing up are on the sub, but there are a couple of 20 amp circuits out in the main that I had added (and no more room in the sub). My sub is in my garage but in the summer it gets incredibly hot in there and I don't want to leaves my batteries out there. I have a small closet upstairs in my home and wondering if I can run extended input and output wiring from the sub and main panels.

    Very nice. I didn't even know one could do this. I am pretty clueless evidently. I looked through the comments to see if my question had been posed but didn't see anything. Probably due to software updates, my app does not look like yours. When I go to the "Circuits" window I do not see all 10 circuits like you have. It looks as if they are doubled up. In the bottom right-hand corner of the first circuit, it says "1 "2 with a symbol between the 1 and 2 that I do not recognize (might be a chain link symbol which, if it is, I cannot "break"). Same for the other circuits (3 (symbol) 4, etc.). When I select one of the "double" circuits I can then do the "auto mode" but I can't just do, for example, just number 1, 1 and 2 are done together. Sorry, that I can't be more precise as, like I said, I am kind of clueless. Is this normal? Or did it get set up incorrectly? Thanks

      Hi Pavlo Not for sensitive electronics like computers etc and it’s not fast enough

    • @kylesylvester2710
      @kylesylvester2710 Рік тому +1

      @@TechMadeEzy Actually not true. Maybe they recently did a firmware update because I have only had my smart home panel for a few weeks. In settings you have to turn on "EPS mode". It then acts as a UPS and will not damage or power down sensitive electronics when the grid power goes out. It switches in about 20 milliseconds in this mode. In this mode it keeps the inverters powered on so they can rapidly switch over. If you turn off "EPS mode" it acts the way it does in your video and takes about 2 seconds to power the inverter back on and switch to batteries just like if you had a standby generator just faster. This mode allows you to save wear and tear on your batteries / inverter so it's exclusively used as a backup generator. The batteries will then last an incredible amount of years. Also uses less power to run the inverter. Inverter uses about 35 watts just to stay powered on. I have lost power a few times lately during storms and had no idea it went out. Was while watching TV with several lights on and surfing the web like I am now, never lost internet or wifi. I only knew the power went out by looking in the app in the log the next day. I think this is one of the most amazing features of the smart home panel. I have had a single Delta Pro for a long time before the smart home panel hooked up as a UPS by having it plugged in to the wall and my cable modem, wifi , small freezer and Pellet Stove plugged in the front in and none of them die when the power goes out. It's a seamless switchover. Now with Delta Pro and the smart home panel you can chose EPS mode or generator mode. Just awesome. Might need a firmware update if you do not see EPS mode in settings.

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  Рік тому

      Kyle it’s 30ms or less stated in the manual. Go to support and download the manual it’s not a UPS , it simply has the EPS feature

      @@TechMadeEzy The manual says 30Ms or less and the app says “within 20ms”, thats where I got that from. I wonder how quick it is in reality? It fits the definition of a UPS according to Wikipedia for one. “The switch-over time can be as long as 25 milliseconds depending on the amount of time it takes the standby UPS to detect the lost utility voltage. The UPS will be designed to power certain equipment, such as a personal computer, without any objectionable dip or brownout to that device.”
      In my experience it works just fine for personal computers, modems, wifi etc. That was my point and it falls within the definition of consumer grade devices. Depends on what he meant by UPS. Not all UPS are zero millisecond switch over. Those are more expensive and are for sensitive electronics like servers that require zero switch over time. You said “computers” and I do not believe that’s 100% true.
      Most UPS you buy at places like Best Buy or other retailers are between 6-12ms sometimes more.
      It still may work for zero ms if setup properly. You can set up the circuit the server is on to Battery mode and it will always be working off the battery / inverter. If the grid power goes out it would have no bearing on functionality of the inverter as it was already powering the device exclusively from the battery and not the grid. You would essentially have zero ms all the time.
      The default circuit mode is “Auto” which automatically switches to battery if the grid goes down. With EPS mode turned on it switches within 20-30ms time we are talking about depending where you look. If EPS mode is off it takes about 2 seconds and you get temporary power loss and will lose PC’s ETC.
      If you turn Auto mode off at the circuit level you will then have 3 options:
      1: Use Grid Power
      2: Use battery
      3: Off
      Its a pure sine wave inverter. Would turning on #2 work for a server? If so this can be used for both consumer devices and servers.
      Since the App says “within 20ms” I am curious to what it actually is. Anybody have equipment to test it?
      From EcoFlow Tech support website regarding this issue: “All EcoFlow power stations can be an emergency power source (EPS), which will have the same result as UPS for most electronics.”
      I am now very curious. The documentation is not very clear...

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  Рік тому

      EcoFlow themselves does not use the word UPS for legal reason and they’ve updated and uploaded new manuals many times. If they have not done so then all I can go by is what they state which is EPS.

    with a smart panel on the way, it was definitely helpful. My problem is going to be: I have a potential 4kW of solar on the roof and my one Delta Pro can only take 1.6kW. I will probably get a second Delta Pro and use a second solar cable set (which is going through an old chimney...) to split up solar power to 2kW per Delta Pro. I hope to have 1.6kW of solar even in fall and spring.
    Also, how do your Delta Pro behave at dusk and dawn when there is less than 40W of solar input, is there obnoxious power relay clicking from the mpp tracker in the Delta Pro?

    I like the Smart Home Panel a lot and would like to install it here in Germany. However, having one a question: what happens if you produce more solar power than you can directly use internally via the SHP? Is the access energy fed to the public grid or does the Delta Pro shuts down the solar feed avoiding this?

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  2 роки тому

      That's more about rooftop solar the smart home panel to my knowledge at this point cannot be connected to any type of system like that all you can do is stay within the specs of the Delta Pro using portable or rigid type panels but not a whole rooftop setup

    • @h.m.9601
      @h.m.9601 2 роки тому +1

      @@TechMadeEzy You can connect any solar module as long as you don't exceed the specs of the Delta Pro. Therefore, a roof top system is also possible and was confirmed by eco flow in Germany. You loose appr. 5 Watt every 10 meter cable length when connecting far away modules to the Delta Pro according to eco flow, In my case I will use three modules each 460 Wp in serial and will stay below 150V the max input for the inverter of Delta Pro,
      Because of legal situation in Germany it would be good to know whether any power can be fed back into the public grid when solar access is there.
