I recommend anyone who has not been to London, to go and sit by the steps of St. Paul's Cathedral and hum this tune to yourself. Walt was right, in the grand scheme of things, this is what life is all about. Charity, making those less fortunate feel wanted and just as cared about as the rest of us.
Mary Poppins is one of my favorite Disney movies. Your dad and uncle launched its score outta the ballpark. Kudos to them. You have a family you ought to be proud of, my friend.
To walt Disney and the Sherman brothers who wrote and did a excellent writing and composing this masterpiece of music one of walt Disney favorite songs ever I try not to get teary eyed and emotional I'm left speechless let's honor and appreciate this masterpiece of music much love and respect and appreciation job well done you should be proud love you guys thanks !!! Joe
Charity is another word for love. God is love and I believe He had a hand in the creation of this wonderful song. My soul is profoundly elevated each time I hear it.
Wow... this proves that yes, those words are simple but few. Even Kristin singing it, it is about charity. When I finally heard this song lastnight in the original film again, I bowled over overflowing with emotion. This song can hit you right in your heart, it's that sad but that beautiful. And Walt was right. That's what it's about.
Since I was a child, I have loved this song. Your Father and Uncle were amazing songwriters, bar none. This song is probably the most loved. And Kristin, a fellow Oklahoman, does more than do it justice. Thank you!
I forget about this song and then somehow, I come across it, and crap it still brings me to tears. But they are good tears. And she even manages to sneak some Julie Andrews English pronunciation in!
You're not gonna cry. You're not gonna cry. ( See and hear Kristin Chenoweth start to get emotional.) Crap. Eyes are watering. Keep it in. Suck it up. ( Kristin Chenoweth starts wiping tears off her face.) Crap! I can't keep it in! I'm balling my eyes out! So beautiful!
What a beautiful masterpiece. This is my favorite Disney song from my favorite Disney movie, the best one of all👏🏼 God bless you and your family. Simply Amazing ❤️
I really love this song. Thanks for filming this! I'm really sorry for your loss last year. I don't really like this cover as much since her timbre sounds more like a kids… Anyways, thanks for sharing this! I hope that both your dad and Walt Disney may love this song forever in Heaven. May they both RIP, even though it was almost 2 years ago.
Jeffrey, thank you for filming and posting this. I don't blame you one bit for forgetting about the camera when you proudly applaud the work of your father and uncle. I saw Mr. Banks on my birthday (and went back the next day to see it again), and was so moved by the interaction of your dad and uncle, I googled each of them, surprised to learn of the distance (as it goes in families, but also contributes to the collaborative genius), and then discovered "The Boys." I watched that tonight, and can't tell you how beautiful it was to watch. Quite touching that their two sons collaborated in the footsteps of their fathers. Wonderfully filmed and edited. Then I just had to hear Feed the Birds one more time, and this rendition by Ms Chenoweth opened the floodgate of tears. God bless you and your brother, your families, and of course your dad and your late uncle.
jeffrey, i was about seven when the movie hit the theaters, we kids in the family went and saw it. I was a bit of an odd bird then. I was impressed with everything in the movie, but it seemed a bit hollywood to me. Then they hit the scene at St. Pauls. im 64 now, and i still have a visual memory of the flower lady. whenever i hear that song. Back then, we didn't have video or dvd or mp3.that we could replay. My mind tucked that song, and those images away as a keepsake. i didn't know why my young self was mystified and drawn to that simple call for charity..I am grateful to your dad and Uncle for imagining something thatpure I will always conjure up that image in my head. It is more real than when I actually see it in the film. the song made me yearn for a kinder way of being back then, and it still does. Your family made a piece of art that is timeless . I always thought it something vaguely gypsy, and vaguely russian in the chord patterns even as a child. the rest of the film could be cartoons. that particular tune can describe things inside our souls that we didn't know we could see.
Was Kristin crying? It looked like she wiped away her tear toward the end. But I too was crying. She tells such a wonderful, heartfelt story. Thank you for sharing.
Haa haa! Both. She had tons of glitter on (it's a Cheno thing) but she was totally crying by the end of it. She did a beautiful job with this song. Julie Andrews would be proud, somebody should show it to her.
yeah she was good, but her voice is quite thin, or maybe the recording is such. Julie's voice had a thicker core that was warm and velvet like as opposed to thin and shrill in this register.
No one can ever possibly come close to having the same singing voice that Julie Andrews did. People talk about whitney this, christina and Jennifer that.... greatest voice of our time belongs to julie Andrews there's no debate there.

I can’t help singing it every time I pass by!
How can anyone watch this and NOT cry? It's so beautiful.
:)
She was in tears herself and so was I. Beautiful song, beautifully sung
IM NOT CRYING! It the onions & dust& the suns in my eyes & & & my melting hart😭😭😭
BEAUTUFUL MADE ME CRY😢😢❤❤
Mary Poppins is one of my favorite Disney movies. Your dad and uncle launched its score outta the ballpark. Kudos to them. You have a family you ought to be proud of, my friend.
I definitely am. Thank you. ❤️
If you look closely, you can see Kristen wiping away a tear subtly as she sings.
I absolutely adore this woman. The only singer whose rendition of this classic Sherman Brothers lullaby can compare with the Julie Andrews original.
As a child this song made me cry. And to this day, it still has the same effect. I’m 54...

Agreed.
I have never heard this singer personally, but she's every singer that sings this specific song. It's so beautiful.

4:45 That's when I began to lose it! She really knows how to tell a story through song! Love her emotion!

Still one of the most endearing and powerful Disney songs ever, and an incredible performance by Kristin!
Simple but beautiful. No wonder Walt loved it so much.
Good job keep up the good work. Joe
She's a real star. And this song is one of my favorites ever.
I'm a composer and this music inspired me, inspire me and will inspire me forever. This is how a men become immortal.

So wonderful to re-appreciate this composition, and what an exemplary performance by Kristen. Good luck with your project and thanks for sharing this.
Such a great version you can see how moved she is singing it….great performance as per from Kristin
amazing
What a voice!
Thank you for this video :)
Thank you for watching it. :)
Was Kristin crying? It looked like she wiped away her tear toward the end. But I too was crying. She tells such a wonderful, heartfelt story. Thank you for sharing.
a música dá minha vida
Fantastic
Thanks for watching.
OMG. This woman sounds so much like Judy Garland. I wonder if she ever recorded Over The Rainbow
I knew it, before her crystal clear voice had finished the first verse, my screen went blurry.
:)
Who is cutting onions in here?
Wow! Hard to sing this after Julie Andrews but she pulled it off. Lovely.
Your father wrote this? I love this song. It makes me so emotional.
Wärme fehlt. ❤
While the Saints and Apostles look down as YOU sell your wares, do they smile?
Ask yourself that every day. I forget sometimes.
She looked at me! :'D
Is Kristin Chenoweth crying or is she wearing glittery makeup?
Either way, beautiful!
Haa haa! Both. She had tons of glitter on (it's a Cheno thing) but she was totally crying by the end of it. She did a beautiful job with this song. Julie Andrews would be proud, somebody should show it to her.

An amazing song sung beautifully but to me Julie Andrews absolutely owns this song.
it sounds like a kid ....
Too bad the quality is so poor. What the heck, why do I have to sit through 5 minutes of junk before she finally sings?
Beautiful song, awful quality
