As much as I loved the series, the Tyranid phase was a bit lackluster and Genestealers were far too fragile to really stand much of a chance at stopping the marine advance. Great to watch all the same and absolutely loved watching the build up for all this. Fantastic narrative.
If the imperium had lost more of the earlier games the tyranids could have been brutal. Like if the knights didn't kill those norns this could have ended much differently
I loved the whole series, and the addition of genestealers was pretty cool, but as a final battle? Felt really… well not like a final battle, it was really one sided and not Tyranid enough. Would of loved a final stand from the imperium of man vs what broke through the previous battle and a final Swarm from the Tyranids
Yeah, I completely agree - Tak's objective was way too easy, especially considering Nick didn't know which objective to block, so he couldn't make a good strategy. (Also, 3 chapter masters was super busted and meant that Tak got to play with the rules for each chapter, which again, was pretty unbalanced.) I get that this is a narrative campaign so it's not meant to be the usual matched play kinda deal, but tyranids won the majority of the games in the campaign, and it really felt like they didn't give them the advantage that they earned.
This narrative series was really fun! I'd love to see more of these in the future. That said, I think this finale was kind of... disappointing, compared to the other episodes? I appreciated seeing all the Tyranid-related forces in one game, but the way it was executed made it kind of a foregone conclusion that stole all the suspense away. I'd suggest taking a closer look at the army lists next time round - it was a problem in the Norns/Knights episode too, but really came to light here. Armies were stacked in such a way that the GSC had no chance given how weak their rules are right now - if they'd been the NPCs coming in, and Nick was just playing a regular 'Nids force, I think this would've been a lot more satisfying, even if the end result was the same!
This channel is what got me into 40k recently. Would have been nice to see a maybe 20 minute recap 5 minutes per game. of everything that happened so far and how it would be effecting the current battle. Aside from that, for the next campaign it would be cool to know what boons each win would grant for the final battle. maybe a drop pod of marines or a band of Ork mercenaries to whoever Completed X or did Y in game 1. Or a tank for whichever player held a certain objective for the longest in game 2. I think it would also be cool if they could be separate from the normal win conditions of the game. which would require the players to sacrifice resources dedicated to earning them Victory points in order to secure an edge in the final battle. Or make it known that in game 3 that each players faction leader can appear in the finale if they survive. again this may cause a player to forgo VP for the sake of either protecting their own leader or eliminating their opponents. Lastly and I don't know if this would or could work but, for each game a player wins they get an extra (I'm not sure what's balanced but lets just say) 100 points to spend on their army in the final battle. Again I'm so totally new to 40k that all of these ideas may not be something that can functionally work inside the game. and if so I apologize. but as a viewer its more engaging if you know what's at stake or what each player stands to lose. might also help with some of the criticisms of the battle being one sided. you can go "look Space marines have 3 chapter masters because they were able to do X, Y, and Z throughout the campaign and now they can all be here for the final battle." And addressing Play On Tabletop directly. I had no problem with how one sided the battle seemed. As someone new to the game and feverishly consuming the lore. I don't expect every game i go into to be fair. from a game balancing perspective sure. but if we look at it from a lore perspective or narrative one. It might make sense that one army has a better chance of winning than the other. Not every battle is a coin toss. Had Horus not separated the emperor from his followers than things might have played out totally differently. But unfortunately for Sanguinius... thats not how the story goes. Thanks for the great games and I look forward to watching the ones to come.
While I liked the twist of having GSC helping out the Tyranids the list felt like it was going to roll over from turn 1. The brood brothers detachment is cool for this kind of narrative play but the detachment ability never came up and no stratagems from the detachment were used so it didn't feel like they were relevant. Meanwhile the space marines felt like the list was much better built. I don't want to harp on this cool narrative that much like others said it felt lackluster.
I loved the connecting narrative between all the missions! I just wish we got to see more varied imperium armies. One side was always going to be the same (tyranids) but 3/5 of the series was just space marines vs Tyranids. Could also be a cool way to get more people in one series!
Wow!!! ❤ What an amazing Mini-Series!! You guys created again a great and immersive Storyline! Well played and featured all the way through! Thank you, for letting us join and enjoy the spectacle!!! 😊😊
So much great content to come down to Space Marine Avengers vs. GSC The power armour power fantasy indeed. That all aside though the work and love put into this campaign shows and it is truly appreciated.
This is probably my favorite series you guys have done so far (definitely not biased as a knights, agents, and dark angels player) but what a phenomenal watch that had some incredible moments throughout the series. Would love to see more narrative games like this with unique mechanics. Makes the games feel so much more I'm enticing and unique instead of the usual competitive lists fighting for glory.
This narrative series was the first videos I've watched from this channel and I loved it, the desperate fight of the space marines across all these battles. In true fashion the space marines win but at a high prize. Loved all the episodes and participants.
absolutly loved this long form story telling style campaign series you did! it was a blast to see things change and evolve from battle to battle, as well as see old horrors from previous battles showing up to wreck havoc once more. definitly would love to see more like this!
I'm a casual 40k fan, having mostly played the video games and read some of the books. This series has genuinely been one of the most entertaining pieces of Warhammer content I've engaged with. I don't know if I'll ever PLAY the tabletop game, but you can bet your ass I'm gonna be watching everything you guys put out. (:
Loved the narrative series. I know this had to be a ton of work in the editing booth to bang out five videos in a month, but I truly loved it. I hope y’all do more!
I know a lot of people really enjoyed this and the production was great! But I'm leaving this comment of complaints coming from love for this channel. The games leading up to this one were really fun to watch with the exception of the Knights vs Norn game. I'm not sure how that went through as an idea and the outcome of that game really proves how one sided it was. One sided games happen, but for me it ust made the match overall really boring. But outside of that one game all of those others were really fun and engaging to watch with different units and detachments played across all of them. But as for this final one? It felt very underwhelming. It didn't feel that there was much impact from the previous games in this match to make this stand out as a big finale that is happening the way it is because of the previous winners. The only noticable thing were the Tyranid models that made it through. And when it does come to the Tyranid models that did show up most of them were gants and only 2 monsters..? What about all of the monsters from game 3? Or any of the lingering ones from game 1? It really feels as though the previous victories for Tyranids didn't matter a whole lot by the end of it. And for Space Marines all they got was a dreadnaught? I could be wrong about that and heard something wrong but that's the only reward I recall hearing them get in this battle report. It honestly feels like Space Marines got NOTHING for any of their wins. I don't know if that was the point since they were basically trying to hold back the Tyranids, but it feels like the past games didn't matter much. I feel like after hearing so much how whoever won a game would get a reward of some kind in the final game really made people excited to see more especially since it was tied 2-2 but all that happened was a few units showed up. And all those units really did was managed to drag the game on for a bit longer after the Genestealer Cultists got destroyed. The Siren Call itself was a great and fun idea for this battle report though, it kept me engaged in what was happening. But despite that while this game was playing out it felt underwhelming compared to what was hyped up before. And I'll also voice the same opinions I've seen a few other people share and that's that having Genestealer Cutlist star in the finale, an army with a codex not built for this kind of mission go against a list full of Chapter Masters, Gravis Marines, Terminators, and Dreadnoughts really make that part of this battle a foregone conclusion. I was surprised to see that it was going to be Genestealer Cultists in the finale mainly because I was expecting the finale to be one big bug vs marine battle like the old 8000 points video. But seeing what they were up against really made it feel like they were doomed to fail and that the Tyranids would have to carry the weight but didn't have enough units or fire power to. For the big finale that was hyped up so much in the end it just feels underwhelming. Again I'm leaving this comment from a place of love for this channel and content like this. I don't comment much but I want future narrative campagins like this to be even better this than was. I hope that you will do more narrative campagins in the future and that they won't suffer from these same problems.
I agree, as soon as it was said that the Tyranid units would come in later AND had their own restrictions as well as engagement rules. I know you don't always get a favorable deployment of them was also terrible putting all of the gene stealers right next to 2 Chapter Masters and their supporting squads. I think as this game went on they started to see just how one sided this match up was but it was way too late to change anything.
I appreciate the feedback and criticism. We have seen and read the critical comments on this video for the finale and noting it for future endeavours. I appreciate that you want future campaigns to be better, and so do we. We do have our reasons for what made this finale scenario what it is. I do look back at all the efforts by the entire team on this series and think they all did incredibly well. It is not perfect. It was done to the best of our abilities. Now, with this experience I feel our abilities have improved and we can take all this learning to the next one. I appreciate the team's efforts in taking on a project of this scale and pulling it all off in the month and a half we had. And, I really do appreciate everyone who leaves a comment. The ones that show their support through telling us what they liked. And, the ones that show their support through thoughtful critique. Both are valuable. Thank you for being a part of our journey.
@@PlayOnTabletop I look forward to the future content a lot. It's that excitement for that future content that made me want to share my thoughts, both positive and negative. It's also really crazy seeing the massive improvement of production in the 3 years I've been watching your channel. I've enjoyed every moment of it and really want to see it grow more and more. So I wanted to thank you for not only replying to my comment but also for continuing to make such like this to such a massive scale. Thank you to you and your team for everything you guys do.
@@PlayOnTabletop I second these comments . i think a finale similar to the wave battle, but with a bigger disparity in point totals, would have worked better. really driven home the desperate last stand vibes, with a truly titanic force to oppose the chapter masters. i really enjoyed the series as a whole though. looking forward to more
What was the point of having Tyranids win in prior battles to proc break through if it wasn’t even a guaranteed buff for the in the final battle since they can target either player’s units? Like what incentive was there actually to win previously if only the space marines were the ones who got to use the “units from a prior battle”
Such an awesome premise, I'd be so excited to see more narrative campaigns like this! Following the progress of the campaign was so engaging and immersive, please more!
While watching I felt so bad for the Ballistus Dreadnought, he was always fighting the tyranids, but at the end he saved all of them holding the tyranids down! plz make more series of videos like this!
Fantastic narrative and I was super hyped to see my favorite founding chapter bring it home with some of my favorite units in the finale, FOR THE LION!
Brand new to this game, but you guys are the first people I’ve watched so I’m currently glued to the screen learning as much as possible. PS tyranids for life
Brilliant series. I really enjoyed it. I loved the drama of not knowing who had the relic. I hope the Tyrannids enjoyed eating their loyal cultists and that at least once ship of hybrids made it off world to seed another planet.
Absolutely loved this whole series! Thank you for all the work the team has poured into this 🖤🤍Although I do share some of the sentiments on the finale, I hope it's not discouraging and allows improvement for the future as I would love to see more narrative series like this! Maybe even have one for AoS at some point!
My gosh, the first 4:44 I made me anxious. What a series! You guys KILLED IT with such great fights and the story telling. What a series! What a fight!
This series was great! I really enjoyed watching it and the beefed up production. I'd love to see more of this kind of stuff with narrative focus. And Rogue Trader is fantastic. Just getting to explore a fully realized sector of space in 40k, visiting all the planets and seeing how normal people live, it was great. Very few other pieces of 40k media have depicted these settings.
Fantastic finish! Absolutely want to see more of these narrative series! I would love to see more multi-faction composite forces, even better if we get a 3 or 4 way battle for the finish or something. Thanks for the epic games!
Absolutely loved this!! With a new edition of Kill Team just around the corner, it would be so cool to see a group of narrative games for it, or even a single narrative influenced by Kill Team games AND 40k games!
This series was just great. Please go on with this kind of mini series. Even if the star children are of course the best, this would also suit a chaos crusade.
Why isn't the final boss of the sirens call, the Tyranid focused narrative campaign, the Tyranids? I like genestealer cults don't get me wrong. But it not actually being tyranids is just a let down.
I feel like it fits for GSC. Is it convenient? Yes, but the tyranids are hauling butt to get there in time, and were repelled in the planets (I like to think warzones) defended by the DA and Knights. So the bulk of the tyranid fleet was either repelled outright or at least delayed, leading to them not being able to muster significant enough forces to go head-to-head with three different chapters. Thus, they call upon the conveniently-placed conscripts of the GSC for aid, as the Tyranid forces straggle in. Simultaneously, the SM forces have finally located the Call, and are hell-bent on getting it off-world in the midst of the 'Nids last-ditch attempt to prevent it. Again, is it convenient for the GSC? Yes, but it fits within the wider story, and it's never the wrong time for an uprising!
Big disagree. Watching another Tyranid vs Marines game? That's what everything beforehand was. It's a narrative game, GSC makes sense. And the Tyranids as an ambient threat that attacks both sides was beautiful.
@alexl2453 I disagree it was 2 wins and 2 losses should have been a stronger nid presence with a genesteeler support not genesteeler with tyranid support just iono feels bad moment the big narrative point for the nids was given over to the GSC .
This series was AMAZING! Well done! I would love to see series like this every 3 months with a huge finally at new years or Christmas. This series was fantastic @PlayOnTabletop!
So annoyed that the final army was all genestealers. Way to squishy and the tyranid reinforcements made practically no impact besides the hive tyrants one attack.
Having the continuous narrative was excellent, I really felt like I wanted to watch the next in the series and wanted to see how it would end. Would watch more!
Starting 43:00 Tak really is good in psychological warfare it really shows his creativity from poker face to manipulation in decision making. Nick I love his enthusiastic and high spirits nature, it’s very rare to have that trait. I still love to see Tak and Nick playing together in this awesome table top narrative. One day I hope Tak and Nick team up for a 2v2 match up.
I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE AZRAEL, but yeah that was amazing! (Just should have brought in more heavy hitters for the genestealers, or have the genestealers support the tyranids instead of the other way around.) But over all, loved the series it was great.
Super cool series, was very fun to watch and really interesting. Woulda like to have seen the Tyranids have a bigger impact in this game but still super dope, please make more narrative campaigns like this
Marneus, Azrael and Dante. Damn that's a lot of plot armour😂.
It'd be cool to have a battle with all the named chapter masters leading a force.
Tak the entire game: “I have the relic, this is a lie,”
Sorry, I couldn't help it. Just loved seeing Nick's reaction every time
We sure it wasn't alpha legion dressed as three different chapter masters?
Alpharius was actually Eddie the Exocrine the entire time
@@PlayOnTabletop The real Siren's Call was being held by Alpharius 2 tables down
Are we sure the whole campaign wasn't just a bunch of Alpha Legion warbands pretending to be loyalist Chapters to get some relic they wanted?
Yes I loved this whole narrative series I whish we would get more like it!
I was thinking...wait for it.....an ork narrative series. How much fund would that be!

Tyranids didn’t win a majority of games tho. It was 2-2. Tyranids ate the white scars and ultras but the knights and dark angels held.
As soon as I saw it was gsc I knew what the outcome would be. Honest question because I can't recall, have they ever won a game on the channel?
@@sketnemesie not too sure tbh, but I'm leaning towards no
Didn’t realize how much I needed the dice cam until it was gone 😢😂
so true! i was even looking later in the vid if it would come back
The Ballistus Dreadnought, the Redemptor from Space Marine 2- Ultramarine dreadnoughts hit different lol
One is blanced, the other has skripted plotarmor and does not even have a Health stat programmed.
@@galling2052 You must be so fun at parties. Their just saying that the dreadnoughts are cool. Calm down
Man, that Ballistus sacificing himself at the end to bait the tyranid horde was such a cinematic moment. Great work guys
It felt very epic as that part of the story unfolded at the table. That is a big reason why I love this game so much. The dice tell stories.

The narrative games you put on are second to none & this was no exception.
This was awesome, the energy of you all, the suspense - great example of a narrative campaign. Well done
This was an incredible narrative event. I really enjoyed each and every single episode! Very well done!
Keep these narrative battles coming. This has been awesome! Pumped for this episode
Def would love to see more of these narrative series. Was so much fun watching and waiting for each episode to come out.
Okay, that was actually amazing to watch... I can only begin to imagine how fun it must've been to play.
Delightful series! Absolutely want to see more of these narrative style games. This was a lot of fun!
Loved it! Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Great job guys, hopefully more to come in the future!
PS tyranids for life
Absolutely LOVED the narrative series and look forward to more!
Thank you for all your hard work.
Brilliant series. I really enjoyed it. I loved the drama of not knowing who had the relic. I hope the Tyrannids enjoyed eating their loyal cultists and that at least once ship of hybrids made it off world to seed another planet.
That was a really cool campaign with excellent narrative! But as soon as the armies were shown it was obvious who would win this game :/
Thanks for the spoiler, I'm on mobile and youtube autoshows comments.
@@UnicornstalkRGaming Sorry about that, friendo :/
I changed it so it won't happen again
Absolutely loved this whole series! Thank you for all the work the team has poured into this 🖤🤍Although I do share some of the sentiments on the finale, I hope it's not discouraging and allows improvement for the future as I would love to see more narrative series like this! Maybe even have one for AoS at some point!
Loved the whole series and how every game impacted the story arc and wining or losing had in-game consequences. Yeah definitely do more!!
My gosh, the first 4:44 I made me anxious.
What a series! You guys KILLED IT with such great fights and the story telling.
What a series!
What a fight!
Amazing series and what a fantastic final battle. Thank you for the top notch content
Man this series was the best thing y'all have ever done!
This was awesome! I enjoy all your content, but this was a different level of fun! Thank you
that was alot of fun yall, thanks for putting that together
Absolutely loved this!! With a new edition of Kill Team just around the corner, it would be so cool to see a group of narrative games for it, or even a single narrative influenced by Kill Team games AND 40k games!
Please can you do more of these!? But BIGGER!!!! More models!!!!
Bring all of your best Chaos players and then unite them in the final battle!!!
That was a fun closing to an engaging campaign. Thank you for sharing these ideas on a way to construct an exciting story for the tabletop.
Great series, Nick. You are a legend and always fun to watch, Taak, my man, you do my Dark Angels, great honor.
This series was just great. Please go on with this kind of mini series. Even if the star children are of course the best, this would also suit a chaos crusade.
Guy this series was fantastic between the awesome return of the knights and the ongoing narrative I would love to see a lot more content like this
I really wanna see nick do a playthrough of rouge trader
Very happy with that result. Loved the Nick energy and Tak's poker face
This was a great series. Can't wait for the next one. Tak fought tooth and nail throughout the run.
Just recently getting into tabletop 40k with Tyranids and this has been so dope to watch as I learn the game. Keep up the great work!
Welcome to the hobby!
Why isn't the final boss of the sirens call, the Tyranid focused narrative campaign, the Tyranids? I like genestealer cults don't get me wrong. But it not actually being tyranids is just a let down.
Yeah I feel like maybe it could've been the tyrannical trying to get to the bunker while the space marines hold them off until the ship takes off.
Was kinda hoping the finale to be a 2v2 or even a 1v2 (Marines vs 2 Tyranid armies) to really show the swarm visuals. Still a nice game.
That was amazing ! Thanks for the whole show ! Loved it !
Been waiting patiently for the cult to show up 😂
Having the continuous narrative was excellent, I really felt like I wanted to watch the next in the series and wanted to see how it would end. Would watch more!
Great series really enjoyed it and hope to see more of them with battles all linking together, special rules etc well done guys
That was awesome. I love the narrative content. Thanks for sharing!
Dude the Ballistus forcing the nids into him to save the boys is SICK
Starting 43:00 Tak really is good in psychological warfare it really shows his creativity from poker face to manipulation in decision making. Nick I love his enthusiastic and high spirits nature, it’s very rare to have that trait. I still love to see Tak and Nick playing together in this awesome table top narrative. One day I hope Tak and Nick team up for a 2v2 match up.
I had a great time watching this series. Thank you for your great work!
Loved this series! I got really invested and would love to see more narrative games and series of games! Keep it up!
That was awesome, I loved keeping up with it
I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE AZRAEL, but yeah that was amazing! (Just should have brought in more heavy hitters for the genestealers, or have the genestealers support the tyranids instead of the other way around.) But over all, loved the series it was great.
Absolutely incredible game and series! Hopefully, we can see a similar series in the future!
We need more narrative driven games this was so fun to watch
Such an awesome narrative story, thank you for sharing it with everyone!
The secret twist was that Tak actually gave the relic to the Alpha Legion
"stolen"
I saw the other comment after i already posted this one, my b 😐
i am playing rouge trader currently
i love that you put stuff from the game on tabletop
Amazing Series! the production value was absolutely awesome!
Awesome series. Thank you for making it!
this was incredible! loved watching it! what a wonderful ending!
50:06 nah that ballistus will never be forgotten
Keep the mini series coming. THis was a lot of fun
Amazing short series of games. This was incredible. I can''t wait to see if you do another since I'd love to :D
Super cool series, was very fun to watch and really interesting. Woulda like to have seen the Tyranids have a bigger impact in this game but still super dope, please make more narrative campaigns like this
