Tycho's such a friendly looking guy, but damn are his plays bloody. He's like if santa claus still did his holly jolly christmas gift-giving but had his sleigh pulled by 9 ft tall man-killing bloodhounds instead of whimsical reindeers. Dude's a boss level threat every time he comes out on the Playon Table.
@vsGoliath96 most definitely would've gotten more wounds on the board making a better than wall and probably better shooting of he brought alluas since a squad of 5 does me pretty nuke any swarms especially in sheild host with the strat that gives me sustain hits 1 in shooting with all weapons that and valerian leading Wardens is better imo you can make them -1 to hit -1 to wound and -1 to ap with a 4++ fnp
The Reaver titan datasheets honestly suck, Chaos Reaver is even worse. They just don't have anywhere near the volume of attacks you'd get out of the same points spread across 4-5 units so bad rolls hurt them so much more.
Yeah, it would be like my favorite Black Library novel, “Gold Dudes are better then Silver Dudes”, where three Custodes fought Imotekh the Storm Lord and his army. Two of them killed themselves just to flex on the Nekrons because they were unnecessary, and the one Custodian ran through and blew them all up.
@@AAhmou yes titans are great for small number of target damage but it doesn’t have enough guns to deal with a list like 8 blood thirsters plus everything else. When you break down titans they’re almost always are a net negative in terms of points to battlefield impact. I am lucky if my warlord has enough turns to score back about half of its points cost unless another titan is on the table.
Can’t wait for the commander tier games when we get Emperor’s Children. We need a CSM super army game with Abbadon leading the Black Legion with 4 Demon Primarchs backing him up into the combined arms of the Imperium

This was such a fantastic, frustrating game to watch!! I would have done way worse than Nick, but it's always hard seeing the golden banana's loose! Beautifully played by both Nick and the odd demon man with the fabulous voice. Please do more themed battles like this from the lore, even if they don't play out how the fans would like, they are so captivating!!
Watchers of the Throne is my favorite series I've read in 40k so far and maaaan the Battle of Lion's Gate was such an awesome sequence. so hyped for this game.
This was an amazing video and i'm SO glad i watched it. the models, especially the Bloodthirsters are BEAUTIFUL and the game was a nailbiter. 30 damage to the titan was NUTS. That bloodthirster definitely needs a name. I humbly suggest: "Baracima Titanfeller," aka "The Breaker of Hope."
I'll always remember that double-flamer Dreadnaught from the Coliseum battle where he wiped the floor with the Necrons as the last model standing. Dude definitely needs a name 😂

I think you guys forgot to apply the -1 to hit strat to the bloodthirster at the end, meaning the custodian guard survive and Nick actually wins. Big oopsie unless I'm mistaken?
Surprised that when the Custodes went to defend the gate from a full deamon army they didn't bring any Sisters of Silance with them, but what does that matter in a great game with good friends.

If that reaver was still firing templates rather than dice rolls, it could have been a very short game with how packed that Daemon deployment zone was.

You're almost always fighting an uphill battle anytime you run a titan but it is really cool.

The dice gods were very rude to the Custodes today. Amazing models, especially the Bloodthirsters, kudos!

Lore wise they were still estranged from the custodes at this time. It was after this that they started working together again.
