  • The Jim Ladd Innerview of Gregg Rolie and Steve Perry. This is a very rare interview with Steve Perry and Gregg Rolie. They talk about People and Places and Politics. Please watch the entire video. This interview was made for radio and there is no real video to accompany the audio. I put this together with glue and paste. This is side one of the album and side two will be posted soon.
The songs had to be removed for copyright purposes, otherwise this is the complete version of side 1 of the album. These records were made for radio stations to play. I added some content to watch while listening to this interview.

Good interview. Not much has changed in real terms in the world today, Steve was spot on with his observations, showing awareness and worries we shared then. Now as a grandparent we face the same fears for the future generations . A sensitive eloquent articulate young man who was sensible to leave that lifestyle of incessant touring which took a toll on him in so many ways not least his voice. Singing is an emotional experience, the voice a sensitive instrument and needs care and attention. These days a vocalist would never overextend their voice as was expected in those days. I’ve just rediscovered Journey, never saw them only heard them on radio so I’m educating myself and listening to them surprised by how many songs were theirs in the eighties. Brilliant songs which are timeless and more so by Steve Perry and his incomparable voice.

What a great interview. Thank you so much for sharing it. I enjoyed listening to Steve and Gregg sharing their insights on music and life and they both sound like great guys. Steve is very elooquent and ntelligent and I loved hearing him talk about connecting with people in the audience during their concerts. Claissic Journey is my all-time favourite rock band and Steve Perry will always be my favourite singer. His voice is pheonomenal, beauttiful, and simply flawless. I'm looking forward to listening to Part 2 in the coming months.

It's amazing that Perry is speaking then about what's also happening now in the world of politics. Wow!! 🤯

Yea, it's like it's just repeating patterns. That's why nothing ever gets fixed, so we can argue about it again in the future.

This is great thank you for the great presentation, and the use of multi cameras, and the great editing. It really is immersive and fun to watch! I’m in Los Angeles as a kid, so around the escape error, I would say 81, 82, on KLOS we have a show called the seventh day, and they would play complete albums, and I remember recording on cheap Zodie’s tapes shows and I remember I think uncle Joe, or this very special as a radio show because journey was big at the time of course. Excuse my grammar! Unfortunately, those tapes are long gone but I think this sounds very very familiar, so I really appreciate you sharing this and doing your super fan foot work very much appreciated!

Insightful re: politics, their viewpoints and how they used their platform to "wake people up" and become aware. Some say life recycles - here we are again

Nicely edited with appropriate imagery. Nuclear Armageddon was a hot topic in 1980, mostly due to presidential nominee Ronald Reagan. The USSR was at the height of its power, and fortunately Reagan arguably proved correct in terms of escalating our military vs appeasement. Although it’s not as simple as that. The USSR had to reform, and proved too little too late ending this totalitarian regime in perhaps the largest bloodless revolution in history back in 1990. 2 of my very favorite LPs are Infinity and Evolution, appreciate the content.

Škoda, že už si nemůžu přečíst a komentáře, protože už nejsou přeloženy do češtiny a já bohužel neumím anglicky. Tak nám holt smůlu.
