- I knew this what I need to know. I heard about Steve Perry, Journey band member, from the 70's and 80's. Nothing better than Journey Live on a music concert. He made his album, "Street Talk", Jane Pauley is off today. Mo Rocca is on CBS News Sunday Morning.

It's so sad to hear that the one and only "voice" to the world got emotional over losing the one and only "voice" in his life his daddy tears me up 😭. Definitely helps put life into perspective. To lose Kelly and make that promise to her to not go back into isolation was a bold move, but she understood that he loved her and would follow through with his promise which gave her that peace she needed in her life to be at true peace when she left this world. I believe that everything happens for a reason. Kelly was a true God send and without her we might would have never heard his voice again. The world deserved to hear his voice even if he never tours again. There is no way for him or anyone to ever gauge how many people his music has touched or even saved. Thank you Steve for coming back and not only following through on your promise but also giving a whole new generation the ability to hear your voice. The hardest thing as an introvert to do is to put yourself out there because you cant control what others will say or do. I always try to tell myself that I will no longer live my life in fear of judgement or ridicule it's what I think that matters. Keep on going Steve the world loves you!

A girl named Deaydre and I got to meet him onstage in San Diego when Deaydre convinced Pat Morrow that we were his cousins from San Diego-The rest of the band was there - but Steve seemed to be a loner-What a moment from 1979-
I don’t necessarily want a “Journey” reunion. What I really want is more Steve Perry music. I discovered that he is the reason I became a Journey fan. Please more music Mr Perry 🙏🙏🙏🙏

George T., He did not sell his rights. That may have been one of the others.
@@joaniepolicy4176 He was the only one who kept his rights, when they go on tour, he gets a percentage, and if they want to use one of his songs in a TV show or movie, they have to get his approval. They hate having to pay him, but if they don't use his songs, they don't have a show.
Always the high road! Steve never reveals the whole story behind his departure. Then sits quietly while the culprit rewrites history! What grace!

You know Steve makes you realize that no matter how famous you become it's the simple things in life that really make you happy, I pray for Steve in his every day life also for his soul and salvation and that God will give him the peace that surpasses all understanding.....

Steve Perry is so genuine and so down to earth. The emotion he brings to his music is present in this interview. The love and loss of Kelly and his parents....things that so many of us can identify with. I am glad he found love and I am so glad as a fan that he returned to us with his gift of music

I don’t blame Steve putting off the surgery It is major surgery. I had my left hip replaced last year and I am now in a wheelchair. I am happy he had no complications and is doing great he doesn’t have a limp.god bless him for all the joy he gives everyone.

Steve is such a fantastic person, when he said that he doesn't do this for money etc.he got me right in my heart, because what he said is exactly what I've been saying all along,.....How much food can one eat?... How many cars can one drive? ...How many homes can you live in?....How. many clothes and shoes can one wear?.... Running around with a different man/woman all ones life just because you can is not real joy and fulfillment in one's life.
One shouldn't be broke, one should be comfortable and be able to supply ones needs and enjoy the fruits of your labor, but after that all one can do with money is either give to worthy causes, stock pile money, or waste it on ridiculousness.
Way to go Steve you're a giant who still have your feet firmly planted on the ground, you're human and keeps it real and I 💘 that😍

It takes a very special person to give themselves wholeheartedly to someone you know may only be with you a short time. The same for Kelly. So grateful they found one another and loved without boundaries. Huge respect for that. I love Steve and been so blessed by his gift. He’s a great human being.
Love Steve and Hanford CA. First time I met Steve was with my friend Kate and hubby Bill. Steve and Bill were in a band called the Sullies. I really miss those times. Wonderful memories. I love that Steve is back singing. Now for new memories. Kelly is watching with a smile.
Huge fan of Steve Perry...huge crush😁..in, I think it was "81 in Rich Stadium buffalo, NY..Journey was with the Stones and George Thorogood and I won tickets on 97 Rock.... the weather was rainy and windy and not safe...the stage crew had to climb the scaffolding up to the parachute cloth backdrop with knives and slice it into shreds..I remember Steve got on the mic and was pissed because the crowd was pushing...best postcards I ever mailed to try to see Journey!..need to get some new cds...Steve's music and all of the Journey collection because coming upon these songs reminds me of how much I loved them...how much it affected me in a really great way...these songs make you feel good... I'll definitely keep those worn out albums too. Steve, I'm so sorry about your Kelly, God bless you💗
Steve Perry does NOT need Journey! Yes, I was a big Journey ( STEVE PERRY ) fan and I still love the music ( as long as Steve is singing ) BUT I also loved his solo music and I LOVE that he finally put out new music)- Traces and Silver Bells. To me, its so disrespectful to constantly ask Steve Perry if he will go back to Journey when he is the one who made Journey famous and then MOVED ON. Does everyone ask Greg Rolie if he is going to reunite with Journey in every interview? NO. Let Steve Perry be who HE is and stop lumping him as part of a band .. the only ones to benefit from Steve Perry making an appearance with Journey would be Journey, certainly not Steve. Steve IS the STAR so the question should be " will you PLEASE make more music for the world to enjoy" rather than the ridiculous question of returning to a band he left 30-40 years ago and has never looked back on.

Mona you're right on target with that disgusting journey question, too many act like Steve is nothing without journey,....He made journey, no disrespect to the band members who also did a fabulous job backing him up, so that they could all succeed....But he doesn't need journey to prop him up to be successful at whatever he does all his life, so yes I totally agree that it does feel like a huge put down to keep asking. him this question, and he told her how she hurt him with it by opening his ❤ and then sticking him in it he laughed, but I know that he meant it 💞

I agree with you all. Asking that question is so lame and outdated! Steve has moved forward, which is what he chose, and he is putting out awesome new songs and doesn't have to be around all of the crap that went with being with Journey! Let him shine! He deserves to do what he chooses and enjoy making the music he wants. It is true, that there will never be anyone that could replace Dr. Kellie Nash, but I pray God brings a lady into Steve's life, that they love and care for other, respect each other and both of them are very happy! It’s not appropriate to ask him if he would go back with journey. The way they done him , I don’t blame him to say No . I grew up in the 80’s , graduated in 1978 and had every journey song. I cannot begin to imagine how it would feel to finally find your true love soul mate then lose her. I believe Steve was blessed to be able to spend the time with her that he could. You're back Steve, kept your promise and she's looking down with that beautiful smile, watching and listening!

Sincerity and humbleness is what I most treasure in people and being an artist of this calibre, it may be said that this person is a pearl. He is conscious and walked through the dark facing his demons, we should all do that more, as that is when the light shines through and creativity kicks in. Only love for this guy. I admit that I do love the man that I believe Steve Perry is. In my mind the private man is ‘Stevie’ and the public entertainer is ‘Steve Perry’. My dearest wish is for Stevie to be healthy and happy. With that thought, I’d love to experience him live but only if it makes him happy because touring is rough physically and emotionally. I remember that he rarely did interviews and always kept his personal life separate. Now Steve it opening up to the world, over and over, by doing these interviews. Steve has done many interviews over the years. Just look around UA-cam. And, I think, at 70yrs. old, he feels Blessed by the happiness he's had over 50 years. When people our age ( I'm close to 70) have experienced the epitome of happiness, love, passion, and then Lose that for whatever reason...makes it easier to say " never again". There's little chance of finding something that deep, that profound again; and looking too hard can bring little else than disappointment and a hole in the heart.

I wish you guys could visit Superior Dairy....So0oo Good!!! I live 30min. north of Hanford...it's worth the short trip..... Glad Steve was able to go home again.........Can you imagine hearing Steve again...in a live concert......whoa.

I attended the 80's concert in Memphis. I was attending a pre concert party. Steve snook in, caught me off guard and made a comment to me. I turned around. He took off to the Peabody and I took off after him. Lol... he turn around and wanted to know my name. I told him Cherri. He started to sing "Oh Sherrie". I just stood there and was flattered. Fun times.... I hate that I missed the 2006 concert. Journey was amazing with Steve. I hope he can return to Memphis.

It seems TV channels take down anything POSITIVE! WTH???
Perry's hip injury, when so young and active, which was SO big a part of his stage presence, HAD to be devestating.
I had made a point of facing getting older, (since i had failed to die young), in as prime condition as possible, joining a GUY'S gymn at 42, and free weights at home, massive vitamins, and full body stretches, for flexibility. Happily moving around like a teen, convinced i had beaten debilitating aging, (retin A and 100 sun block)...People marveled...
Nothing to worry about, here, at least...life has OTHER problems, but this one is HUGE. The rest fall in line. The most fabulous car is NOT as good as your PRIMARY VEHICLE...YOU.
So when i had a freak accident, later...literally crawling on the floor for 3 days before i could stand again, 6 months before i could walk in what OTHERS thought normal...but for me a lousy second best...
The change in attitude ajustment, personal indentity, necessary for this was, frankly beyond me. SECOND BEST, was beyond me.
Playing trial and error, inventing therapy, saved my ass. What doctors thought as splendid, i disregarded. It's frankly hard to go against what SUPPOSED better educated minds think. But they were wrong.
Perry, at his peak of sucess, had to suddenly reinvent himself. I mean, lets face it, he was practically a god, on stage...after years of briliant, often gruelling effort...ANY rocker's dream...
My story is so much less..BUT NOT TO ME. One's identity is all you REALLY have...even my career in fashion, was lesser than my physical self. My daily grind, DEPENDED ON THIS.
Granted, Perry had better, OTHER, resources than me, and could rest on his laurels. But MY loss was every bit as big, TO ME. And i well know, I COULDN'T DO IT...
This month, after a year, i've started freeweights, again. Trial and error, was too often, (for me), error. When you only have one guinea pig, this can be terrifying.
But failure was NEVER an option. Lets face...I CAN'T SING.
