There will never ever be another person who can sing like Steve Perry.
I am so so so agree with you 😂❤❤❤
Never a truer word spoken
True
there is already.. his name is Arnel Pineda..it doesnt mean that Steve is not deserving but he is the founder of the Journey and Arnel Pineda is the one that continue his legacy until now and made The Journey LIve longer..
Deadassssss
When Perry got up to speak the crowd got LOUDER.. goes to show how much we ALL Miss him ❤️
That was the loudest the audience got. The others didn’t get this kind of reaction as Steve Perry did. Amazing.!!!
Amen--the greatest
Without Steve Perry there wouldn't be Journey
@@mireyarodriguez4490 or Ross Valery and Steve Smith
The best Malé voice ever no doubt about MR STEVE PERRY
Steve humbly stood behind. But keepin it real. Without Steve, no Journey. Epic vocals.
This is why Steve was the front man, it’s more than just his singing. It’s his ability to connect with an audience - ❤️
The way the audience reacted when Steve Perry started walking towards the mic. Crazy loud!!
Steve Perry is what made Journey who they are today... ❤❤
sound alikes
Most bands in the world would do anything to have singers like Steve Perry. What a gift!
He was and is surely the real deal! We need a reunion with him and have Gregg Rollie as Co Keyboardist!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉Only one that was in the Best of Journey ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ 😊😊😊😊
Steve Perry is a CLASS ACT....His voice was what made Journey. Congrats. Well deserved
Steve Perry is the most gracious, thoughtful, and sincere front man. He clearly is a man of connection and a true gentleman. ❤
Steve Perry is one class act! His speech was humble, thoughtful, sincere and selfless. And kudos to him for mentioning and acknowledging Arnel Pineda! God bless you Steve!
Steve Smith also
Steve mentioned him too
Oh yes he is!
@Phil Olivieri....that was classy of him to do that ! Arnel has been rock solid for Journey!! 👍
@@patd1956 yes he did. All other members of Journey didn't mention Arnel even as a side note
Isn't it lovely that only Neal thanked Steve for his contribution. Especially when he is the reason they are in the Hall of Fame or continued to be a band after 1977. Steve proved that he is a class act and the audience absolutely adored him. What a great phenomenally talented guy. He and Pat were standouts.
I agree with you. He brought the success to Journey. Without Steve Perry. Journey was just an average band
Without Steve people without Steve there is no journey. There is no band the new lead singer. He's like a kid. He's good. His voice is good but he's not. Steve, there's nobody that comes even compared to Steve. Steve was Steve this pisses me off. It really does you know. Journey is awesome! Great band. Great videos MTV the time you know. Oh my god I wish he would go back. He just made another album. Steve Perry did. It's just I guess he couldn't get along. Neil schon i's just stuck on himself Well seems Neil did make the band. He came from Santana 1973. I don't know. I just I love the music. Great music never dies
At 16:13 "you see, without him, there would be no Journey up on that stage" truer words were never spoken.
I noticed that, too! I was reading her lips, and she is 1,000% correct!!!
Thanks for pointing that out - I hadn't noticed that before. Who is she, and moreover, who is that guy with that look on his face??
It is a collaborative effort that got them in. Without Herbie Herbert Steve Perry may have remained an unknown. And Steve Perry without Journey isn't as good. Without Journey there would probably be no Steve Perry
@phelpsmarc there would have been a Steve Perry, someone would have discovered him... no doubt about that
Steven Ray Perry, the Lead Singer above all lead singers.
The lead singer's Lead Singer.
A Legend then, now and always.
Steve was very gracious to acknowledge Arnell. Truly he (Steve) is one of the greatest voices of all times!
you don't know without Arnel, officers in Hall of Fame would not recognize journey twice.
GALAXY USER1 N what are you talking about?????
YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Journey was well on their way to the RRHOF without that karaoke singer Pineda.
GALAXY USER1 N Journey was inducted because of their work in the late 70s, 80s, and mid 90s. Arnel has contributed to keeping the music alive but he had nothing to do with Journey's induction, and Arnel knows it. He appreciates his role.
I love Steve Perry, and the way he talked about Arnel, Perry is truly legend. I followed Journey thanks to Steve's voice
Steve Smith mentioned Arnel first.
There is NO Journey without Steve Perry. He is unfailingly humble, honest, and has the best voice in rock (though I admit I love Joe Elliott too!) Journey, thank you for providing the musical score to my life. I love you all!
Great musicians in Journey but for me it would not have reached the heights it did without the incredible voice of Steve Perry.
Aint gonna lie. My heart did a standing ovation when Perry started speaking.
Kevin S I was screaming, shaking and hysterical when he got up there! Steve = Journey
Hell yeah!
Steve Perry is JOURNEY
Your all right...STEVE PERRY 👍🏻
Absolutely!
This man, he is so sensitive. I can see clearly, that he suffered so much. Even when he sang, he is sensitive. Thank you so much, for your voice, Mr Perry.
there is no genius without suffering
There is no JOURNEY without Steve Perry. And he is so HUMBLE to acknowledge Arnel Pineda !!
Well said !
He just did what was right. Arnel Pineda won his place in the band rightfully.
@@phoenix8498 everyone doesn't do what's right. I truly respect Steve for honoring Arnel. It warmed my heart to see those two pictures of them together, they respect each other, and Steve Perry is a class act, so is Arnel.
@@slamecatzwell5544 That's correct, my friend.
There was a journey before Perry
no other voice like Steve Perry, what a beautiful, gracious man
Without Steve's phenomenal voice Journey would not be accepting music hall of fame
There is no Journey without Steve Perry...
Amen
Don't tell that to the other guys
....with the exception of Aynsley Dunbar
@@ysaminmanabilangmocamad8583 he must be backstage during this moment!
And? What you really want to say?
Steve Perry is just a BOSS, and a true gentleman in every sense of the word...class, class, class, oh, and arguably the greatest singer that ever walked the planet.....at least in the top 10.....thanks for your amazing music.
Listen to the audience when SP takes the mic! Well deserved. Finally!
Steve, you are a class act and my heart does a back flip when I see your face or hear your voice! Thank you for making the 80's a magical time for all of us! We love you!!!!!
The greatest thing about Steve Perry apart from his voice, is his humility.
Really? If he had humility, he would have rejoined the band after the hip replacement.
But steve perry fans are not humble enough to accept journey has a new singer. I hope his diehard fans follow perry's humility
@@broadstreet21 the band lrt hom go ok, he didn't quit.
broadstreet21 he told the band that he wouldn’t go back if they toured under the Journey name without him. He asked them not to crack the stone because he was definitely getting hip surgery, so blame Schon/Cain, especially Cain because he’s the one who talked Neil into replacing Steve and going on tour as Journey with Steve Augeri.
@@broadstreet21 How could he have? Surely you know that Schon and Cain got tired of waiting for him to get the hip replacement and moved on with a tour without him. They hired Steve Augeri. Even.if offered, Perry would not have accepted after that betrayal.
Steve Perry made Journey the band it was if not for Steve Perry journey would not have made Fame and Fortune without him fantastic voice
James Hostler and his songwriting. He wrote and co-wrote majority of the hit songs.
Jesse Lee Son Nice try. Well, Schon/Cain sure as hell haven’t written any great songs since Steve Perry left-no major hits. Steve Perry is also a drummer and plays bass, and is also great at arranging songs and producing. He produced both Greatesr Hits Journey albums after leaving the band. He has a great ear too, in addition to the songwriting.
Steve Perry’s solo work is really amazing while Cain’s and Schon’s solo albums suck or are very average. So, no Schon/Cain did not play a larger role in the songwriting process-total hyperbole. Cain is no songwriting genius keyboardist like David Paich.
Steve Perry not only has the most beautiful and powerful voice I've ever heard but is a classy man as well. I'll always love journey till the day I die. I'm 45 and being born in 74 I'm really lucky to have grown up in the 80's. It was a time of great movies and music
❤ I AM 73 and I still love Steve perry ❤❤❤❤ been there from the beginning ❤❤
Steve Made The Journey, Arnel Saved The Journey..
Thanks To Both Of Them
Damn right, if it weren't for the road crew ... what a class act Steve is, to thank the original road crew and even go as far back as thanking the 3 people from the original fan club. See, these are the "little things" that aren't so little. He's a good guy.
And, come on band members. You ALL KNOW Journey would've been a blip had it not been for Steve.
Steve Perry gave his vocal cords to Journey!! I'm happy to see that it was worth that great effort and that he has had this recognition!!
Steve Perry is the definition of class!!
I absolutely agree, there wouldn't even be a Journey if it wasn't for the amazing Steve Perry. And Arnel Pineda is doing a wonderful job as well.
perry may be a class act , but he had aynsley dunbar fired. he thought aynsley was overpowering his voice. go figure
I have always loved Steve Perry's voice since I first heard it at age 13. It just stops you in your tracks, mesmerizing, nothing existed but that voice while singing. Steve Perry. 👏👏👏
💯%. Girl, there wasn't a inch of space on my br walls, that wasn't graced by Steve!!☺😂😁. My mom only tolerated it, because she thought he was a good singer 👏 👏👏
The songs were the soundtrack to my 1st boyfriend, 1st heartache, high school...
Pineda's voice was equally captivating, probably even more powerful.
Steve Perry such a generous guy to even callout Arnel when the latter's bandmate didn't. Steve such a legend.
And some of Arnel's fans were heckling Steve during his speech. If not for Steve, and his songwriting ability, and his incredible voice, Arnel would not even have a job.
Amy Lacher you sure????????
@@TheLovesGreen what job.!!! this is a team band.fuk u
Kura...fuk u?? What is that to mean?? Not that it should be spelled that way! Obviously you have no class with language as such lol, Amy ignore these asses👍🏻
Crayon 9, go back to your crayons , either your too young to know or your just DUMB!
Perry thanks his road crew from years
ago. Humble and gracious man.
Steve was a member of that original road crew. Herbie knew the drummer/singer was not working out and had Steve hired as a roadie with the intent to move him into the lead singer role. He has fond memories of being a roadie because his boss was of Portuguese decent as well.
@@janebeatty9472 This isn't true. Perry was never a roadie. Manager Herbie Herbert brought him on board with the story that he was roadie John Villanueva's Portuguese cousin. This was a try out and introduction without upsetting current lead singer Robert Fleishman, who was not working out. The introduction was successful and Perry was hired as lead singer. His thanks to his road crew were genuine, but not because he was ever one of them.
@@amylacher5636 I believe what I said is true and partially backed up by what you are saying. Steve was a member of that roadie crew, albeit short lived.
I watched that 2017 hall of fame induction speech again and I must say Mr Perry is one class act . Out of all the speeches his stood out because he mentioned everyone of his band mates. This is just another example of why he stands out along with his talent also his real compassion-his fans will always love him. Just being for real❤️🎼🎤🎼🎤🎼🎤🎼🎤
Steve has had time with "god inside" that is obvious. Steve, I believe understands WHO he is: Love and Loved, DEARLY.
Steve Perry was very nice, kind and generous to acknowledge Arnel keeping the Journey alive to these days. Very nice gesture.
Steve Perry put Journey on the map. His voice brought the music out. It's very unfortunate how he was treated to leave the band. Arnel knows the words. But he is not able to bring Perry's emotional voice to the songs. I'm happy to see Steve is sharing his voice once again. He is the best ever. Journey needs to look at themselves and see why they didn't keep Steve with just patience. Who's crying now.
I wonder if Steve Perry really realises how good he actually is. If you ever want to wrap up the eighties in a ball it would be Journey. Steve, I love you for ever and thank you for recognising Arnel for bringing back the eighties and the best memories of my life.
You should check out Steve’s new solo album. He can’t wail the high notes anymore but the man can still sing and the songs are nice.

The album it's feakin' amazing!
When I saw Steve Perry walk up it brought tears to my eyes. Lets not forget Neal's epic guitar solos

Steve Perry's speech was icing on the cake. I also appreciated his shout out to Arnel. 🙂
Wow, the roar of the crowd when Steve Perry came up to the microphone was unforgettable , estatic & amazing! Steve Perry was the voice & the sound of Journey, his legendary!
How many of those people were conceived with Journey playing in the background?
🥰🥰🥰
I loved Steve Perry because he is so humble and down-to-earth Hall Of Famer singer! He did mentioned Arnel Pineda more time in his speech 👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👍
Steve Perry, I Love you forever and I wish to meet you one way, and tell you how much I Love you
You’re right you’re still here because of Arnel Pineda... almost forgotten...thanks to Steve Smith and Steve Perry for mentioning Arnel and acknowledging his part of keeping the band rolling..
It is sad that Steve is the only one who acknowledged everyone on stage that night. Neil mentioned Steve but it seemed like everyone else snubbed him. I love that he also thanked and acknowledged Arnel. I will always love Journey but Steve will always be the GOAT VOICE.
I also think it's sad that when Gregg left because he was tired of touring, it was okay. When Steve left for health and and personal reasons, he became public enemy number one to the band. This is why I will always be a Steve Perry fan! He is humble and kind.
i think that's the norm.... for the members of a highly successful band getting pissed at their front man for leaving at the height of their success. Steve, Peter Cetera (Chicago), Lionel Richie (Commodores), etc.
cos, they perceived as soon as their key to success left, so did their hot streak.
Great comment!
Steve Perry is so amazing. Always number one in my heart.!! And the Voice behind Journey.!!!
Thank you Steve Smith and Steve Perry for appreciating and thanking Arnel for his contributions in keeping the legacy sound of Journey. Much respect to both of you!
By the way its not a slap to perry alone but to all americans.... The band is only using arnel just to grind gold to accessorized their teeth.... And one thing more perry cant sing anymore just like before,,,, i think he felt that he was about to lose his voice thats why he left not only the band but the industry as well,, as what i have observed the way he sang on his recorded video, no more steve like the Steve before that's why you americans always keep on saying no steve no journey , he is legendary he has contributed that legacy already just to keep him because you cant accept that there's a lil guy that could be able to bring back the band to the music world and to the music lovers.... 😮😮😮😮😮
@@chrisdanielsanchez6317 well said. Thank you Arnel Pineda for saving this band.

I highly commend Mr. Steve Perry for mentioning ARNEL PINEDA who carries on the music LEGACY that Journey had long been established! My salutations to you Me. Steve Perry!

Exactly he was classy right there of all people he was the one who remembered from one great singer to another. Luv you Steve!!!
If you'll notice just by comments alone, Neil wrote the words but its the way that Steve Perry delivered those words that made Journey a band that was worthy of being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! Love you Steve!!!
Steve Perry, wow! This has to be one of the classiest things to ever happen in Rock n Roll. Mr Perry, you Sir are an example for all to follow. I would’ve like to have heard you sing……but I get it.
Can you even believe the cheering when Steve Perry walked up there. Un-Real. I am just happy that they brought Steve with them. He is Journey. Even the language that he used was classy coming from him.
Insane that it took this long for Journey to make it into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Of course all the members are legendary, but Steve's instrument just takes you to another plane of existence.
Karen a They always said they wouldn’t make it in because the critics hated their music. We fans did not let the critics win.
Journey was always my favorite, but there's no one that can sing like Steve Perry! I listen to the old stuff with Steve Perry 💜
That is so damn cool that he gave a shout-out to Arnel. I was really hoping he would. He brought journey back to prominence and does a hell of a job with the legacy that Steve Perry started. What an insanely talented group of musicians end one of the biggest bands that's ever been or ever will be.
Steve made Journey. Arnel saved it.
Holy crap Steve Perry wow what a speech...I love him thanking the band, Herbie, Neal, the fans
As Steve said the sound of Journey is all the musicians combined and their working together as a ensemble but it's Steve's voice that has made Journey.

Steve Perry is a class act he mentioned so many and it looked like( to me ) a couple of the Members kind of ignored him he was thoughtful and will still be the Lead man for Journey they were lucky to have him

Arnel Pineda is a great great singer and there is not enough room in this post for me to talk about that particular point. However, Arnel Pineda did not make Journey an all time great band. At the end of the day, it is Steve Perry, Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Steve Smith, and Ross Valory. Pineda was brought in to give Journey one last run and he has done wonderful. Pineda is an all time great because he is a phenomenal talented singer...
WOW!!!!!!!!!! Journey, you totally deserve that award, I don't know what took them so long.

I'm sure Arnel apreaciated it so much as well..
Yes
Yes. Even younger generation
He's not an original band member, get over it!
He should appreciate the fact that he's getting paid to cover a former Journey member's songs. Which is exactly what he was doing before Journey. The fact that he gets to make millions by singing another person's songs should be enough. Sure he's helped keep Journey going, but beyond that what has he really done to contribute to their success. City Of Hope is the only somewhat success that's he's helped contribute to the band. Besides that his entire tenure with Journey is just him singing Steve's songs. He should be happy that he was even mentioned at all.
