I have a feeling Matty is going to like this car more than he thinks. I remember driving a evo 9 brand new when they came out and it was such a pleasure for what it was. I’ve owned my car for 13 years now and wish I could go back to when I got it and just keep the basic mods like you guys are doing. Living my dreams over by watching these videos now

Not too many people get to buy a car like this and do all the mods all at once, however I'd like for Matt to experience the upgrades to OEM+ (before and after)... Matt that's totally my opinion, you own the thing do what you want. Heck do everything at once ....
If you ever stop and think about this, Matt is like the Santa of all us car guys and gals. He can just buy all gifts (mods) we always wanted and make it Christmas any day of the year.

Mitsubishi also makes great gas turbines. Went to see one being built in Savannah, Georgia recently.
God I couldn't imagine winning that. I just couldn't wrap my head around what that moment would be like for someone. I do need some iron remover though lol. So I guess now would be the time to buy!

My experience is that the sound of a new exhaust changes significantly over the first few 1000 miles as they coke up on the inside. Seems odd that you junk exhaust based in the first start and a few burns down the road.
Loving the "beater" content. Watched this episode closely and did'nt see the spacers being fitted. What brand of spacer is being used and size please. Looking at adding spacers to my stock enkei's soon. Cheers👌Also the stock wheel nuts are called shank style or mag seat with washer.
The stock brakes are fine for occasional track days, they will turn brown though are too much track heat. Those pads are not, you'll want something better like Dixcel Z Type or PMu HC or Endless MX72 for pads that will track and street.

We were contemplating on trading of our 2016 Toyota 4Runner, trail edition and getting the 2023 TRD Pro in solar octane but they did under coding for rust protection on it and I absolutely hate dealership under coatings. That and a couple other oddities is why we walked away from it but these people could care less when they were spraying it, it was all over the suspension and break components. Like, how can you do that to a vehicle and absolutely not give a crap… It makes me so mad.

the question everyone wants to know is, will the upgrades come close to what you spent on the Porsche? when I say upgrades I mean the "final" upgrades as we all know there will be a stage 2, 3 and 4! ;-) second question, is there ANYTHING Mike can't do?

@taylorj959a I dont think he'll do that much with the motor. PPF though, depends he much of the car he's covering. Was carbon ceramics mentioned in this video? I can see the total being closer to 2/3 of the porsche now as I forgot about the ppf

Australian viewer here, what's Mike specifically mean by taxes?
In Australia you pay once, stamp duty, then it's just yearly vehicle registration and insurance.
What's the deal with the continual ongoing gov theft tax?
In the U.S. winning something like this giveaway or the lottery, it is looked at by the government as income. So if the resale value of the GT3 RS is $300k, you have to pay the government roughly 25% of that ($75,000). You then have to pay your State government tax on $300k which is different state-by-state, but is usually 10% or less ($30,000). So, if you win you would have to pay 25-30% of the total value of the giveaway when your taxes are due. If there is cash included in the giveaway that would be added on top of $300k. Then you would have your yearly registration fees which is determined by the year/value of the car and then your monthly car insurance to be rod legal.
In the US, the winner has to declare the value of the car as income and pay their % of income tax.
We pay taxes for everything. Already paid taxes? Do it again.
