1:40 Castrol changed the stupid name of the oil. Pretty sure it changed from TWS to "Supercar" or something. I went back and fourth with ECS about it to make sure it was the right one and it is. You're good.
I thought that they switched to Penzoil because the Castrol wasn't properly lubricating rod bearings.
Lol I thought they changed to Mobile one. Lol dealership I use went from Castrol to Mobile one. Who knows what's even right anymore.
@@12vs23 BMW Group as a whole switched providers from Castrol to Shell (Pennzoil). Their contract with Castrol ended and Shell won the bid. Has nothing to do with lubrication properties for engine parts as BMW defines what they want from the oil company. The Castrol 10w60 Supercar is the old "TWS" in a new bottle. This happened after BMW switched to Shell as TWS had a BMW specific part number on the back of the bottle. I use this same oil in my E92 M3.

It was me that said the Hasport Mounts would get better, sorry! Watching the LHT build they said they used 62A mounts, (softest mounts they make) which I also have, and they in fact did soften up for me after 20-30 days of driving. I literally emailed Hasport and had the shop redo the mount thinking there was no way the vibration is normal. But sure enough it went away. Its possible one of the mounts was not a 62A and actually a stiffer mount, but who knows. Anyway, whoever wins it will deal with it. Thanks for building such an awesome EM1

I know I will cause a war here, but I like doing the top side oil changes as I can use the vacuum pump to clean out all the oil out of the filter housing. I just don’t think it leaves hardly anything in the pan. I have removed the plug after and nothing comes out other than a few drops.
your E92 M3 is the my favorite out of all your cars. I would love to see your E92 with Dinan stocker kit 4.6L 527HP Matt. and E46 BMW M3 full blown CSL conversion.
There is an extremely tidy black E46 M3, black on black, manual on Ebay.com right now. 37k miles from a place called Ryan Friedman motors in the USA. Unless you're looking for the rare CSL but I guess you'd have to import that.
Use the yarn to make some OG-spec mittens and get Bernie Sanders to wear 'em. Pure money. ;)

Stroker is the only way to go!
You know what you can do that would be interesting to the community? 292 cams. Should make a bunch more power tuned, stays NA, probably sounds good, and a lot cheaper and probably more reliable than a stroker.

Matt keep working on your wrenching skills.. practice makes perfect!! I use only Amsoil now!! Liquid Molly Ceratec additive every third oil change!!

Pro tip: hold the oil bottle with the offset spout facing up as you pour, and the angled part of the bottle facing down. It will “glug” much less or even not at all.

A stroker kit would be sick! I drove the M3 with a G-power supercharger once... the once glorious induction noise was gone and the car kind of lost its soul.

Castrol changed the name from TWS to Supercar but BMW doesnt use that anymore they now uses a newer updated oil thats supposed to be better for the bearings.
My wife would definitely buy some yarn...will Hex Plus memberships get a discount on yarn too? ;)

PLEASE NO Supercharger! Induction is too good! MCS is great for suspension, have them on my e36. On my e90 I have the KW coilovers so the EDC stayed in tact and I could get the ride height dialed. Honda Bros can go out the window once its sold and swap it to the BMW crew, guys, fellas

If you're serious about a nice e46 you should check out Enthusiast Auto Group (EAG). They only offer the best of the best when it comes to BMWs.

Make sure you put the right oil on this car or else rod bearings will be knocking.
