Yes. They are. They don’t only do it because they need to survive, they do it because they enjoy it. Also, this part of the wasteland is anything but lawless
@@drunkenmmamaster419 They are not doing anything constructive and they are not even "surviving" in wasteland psychopaths taking chems they will die soon but kill others in the meantime.......it's just destructive overall and objectively bad for literally everyone involved except drug dealers.
Can you imagine growing up in a Vault, barely even knowing what violence is, only to watch everyone you've ever loved get raped and slaughtered repeatedly. Damn.
Was definitely super niave to not exit the vault with some form of security. That's one of those, "I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it" situations haha.
I think I've gone on a mission and just wiped the fiends out in all but one of my many playthroughs. I didn't even know there was quests linked to them other than the bounties from Camp McCarran for a long time...
I'm replaying right now, and a while back some NCR guy asked me to rescue someone from Vault 3, I think. can't remember any names. But... the quest marker didn't come up. I went in Vault 3 anyway, found some prisoners and left them go, and killed everyone. Later on, I was supposed to give some illicit goods to Motor Runner, but he was dead! That was a botched quest for me, (I should have gone back to an earlier save and tried again - but I've only just thought of that!).
yeah, you need to do some of the quests in a certain order to not get locked out. you can see that in the video where the quest "Aba Daba Honeymoon" fails after i merk motor runner.

St.James might be the absolute worst character in the entirety of the Fallout franchise, he just straights up molests children before he sells them to unsavory people.
@@N_orte That whole story involving him and Dermott was basically human trafficking in a nutshell. St. James was just morally Bankrupt, Hell even Cook-Cook had a favorite animal. As someone from Utah it bothers me more than it should that every fallout UA-camr pronounces Nephi as na-phi instead of nee-phi like it should be pronounced
Yeah, you can't feel sympathy for these guys. They are basically like the Powder Gangers but even less redeemable. So it's good that they die out or are incredibly reduced in almost every ending.
I always felt a mix of sympathy and frustration towards the Vault 3 dwellers. I will (probably years from now) get around to my own lore video on this topic, but I’ve got a lotttttttt of content to get through first 😂 but yeah. Loved the vid.
I love how you can easily reboot your reputation in New Vegas by massacring Fiends. One thing that always kind of bothered me about this game was how most Fiend quests were kind of a joke. Three Card Bounty, for one, was one of those, "I need a cheap way to get in good with the NCR" quests. They aren't nearly as hard as their reputation would imply.
i don't know about you but my first time playing fallout nv it was genuinely difficult fighting fiends thanks to their better equipment compared to mine and their numbers.
I know what you mean. Nephi and Violet were easy, for me anyway even at lower levels. I'd snipe their crew ,then take em out one v one. The way they go on about Nephi and his golf club you would think he's some kind of raider Lanius. Not even. I gave him fair melee fight , even went unarmed against him ( with no ramped up unarmed stats) . Put him down easy enough. Cook- cook is the only one that is any real kind of dangerous out of the 3. Even after you snipe his crew.

Dude, the Fiends murder, rape, rob, and burn everything the innocent civilians of the Mojave have. They are drugged up lunatics who care for nothing but destruction. Even the Powder Gangers are more moral than them, at least they're just in it for the money. Even if New Vegas was set days after the bombs dropped, the Fiends would still be evil, but it isn't. It's over 200 years later. There are advanced modern civilizations capable of rivaling the old world. The Fiends are so monstrous, they don't even get a faction reputation system, because every single faction wants them dead

killing cook cook and showing betsy is a must for every playthrough just like killing saint james

"This lore is the darkest of the franchise" maaan I could think of several darker lores. Especially experimentation, FEV and enclave atrocities.
The quest with Corporal Betsy involving Cook Cook and the fiends is pretty dark though. Probably the most Iv seen in a more "modern" game
