As far as the carrying case go, I think people have different head sizes, so when they like to leave on certain length, when folding the headphones tend to expand, and only soft case can expand with it!

I have had the original Beats Studios since 2011, the leather on the inside of the fraying, and I even got an adapter for them to make the bluetooth and future proof them. At one point i'll get new ones wether they be the Sony's, Audiotechnica, or Bose or... maybe still Beats. I can't explain it, My heart still has a soft spot for them, even if there not the "cool" choice anymore.
