A Tip that helped me so much to identify the different punches:
Don't just Look at one single "Screenshot" but quickly press the pause button to "watch in slowmo".
This gave me a way better feeling in how they move in general. You can spot differences more easily :)
I can tell uppercuts and left and right i just couldnt tell hooks from straight fo shiva theyre way too similar
YES!!!! I beat 3D Brawler Sephiroth in 14mins (2 tries)! The Pausing effect is a God send! It only took me 29mins to beat Shiva, Ifrit, & Sephiroth.
This minigame is goddamn ridiculous. Even on Easy, I can't get past the fucking moogle. The analog sticks are terrible inputs for the commands. You can block when you mean to dodge and vice versa, and that can wreck you constantly, if you even block or dodge at all. I just need the laat pieces of Dark Matter from the Shiva fight so I can start transmuting the Genji gear, and this is the ONLY minigame standing in my way. UUGHH! 🤬
Once you get it, it's so simple. Use only the stick relating to their attacking hand. If they start low, push down, if they start with hand higher than head, push up, if they hand is at same height as shoulders, push out from controller LS left, or RS right.
Haha except the models have their hands down for up attacks or up for down attacks. Its genuinely coin flips
@@Kronman590 well, I've completed all of them now including sephiroth. You'll be flipping a lot of coins if you think that's the way to beat him..
@@themightyimp08 Sephiroth has pretty defined animations. Middle manager on the otherhand......
I beat Sephiroth on my 2nd try ever against him by executing the pause screen method after watching a UA-cam video.
It took me 29mins to beat Shiva, Ifrit, & Sephiroth on my first playthrough of them.
This video shouldnt need to exist. Rebirth dropped the ball. Story and combat are all thats worth it. None of the minigames are genuinely as fun as ANY battle in the game. Ugh. Travelling to intel is more fun than the chocobo racing FFS! FFS!
Completely agree, I’ve been saying the exact same thing to my friend. A lot of people have their rose colored glasses on because they’re fans of the original game. We’ve come a long way in video game design and the mini games are not necessary!
Il give this a try, ive looked everywhere for a video like this failing this, i reckon the only way is paying someone to it 😆, spent hours on this, only need it for the side quest, if you skip past chapter 12 can you go back?
key is too hit pause before the hit and look at pose, you will know what kind of punch is coming in. thatss how i got through

I have a feeling they did the math taking into account people aren't gonna do the same thing twice if they don't have to 😂
This is imo the worst mini-game to ever exist in all of video game history. There's literally nothing positive about this. Every single aspect about this specific mini-game is complete trash. If i was the game director i would fire whoever was in charge of this mini-game.
Kind of has a similar effect to how bad the mini-game was in the original. It was rock-paper-scissors with level of difficulty allowing the CPU to gradually almost always have the advantage over your inputs. Beating any of the guys is 100% luck.
