That last bonus tip is undervalued IMO. This is one of those situations where too much of a good thing can be bad. I'd rather they had just put a lot of those things into a more appropriate location, like the Gold Saucer. There's just so much side content and a large amount of them are unnecessary. Like I'm spending so much time doing side content that it almost makes me forget what the objective was for the story lol. Not literally of course, but it really takes away from immersion. Just like IRL where video games have a time and place, so too should flooding mini games into a video game lol. Mind you, this isn't a big complaint at all as the game is great regardless, but it's just a critique that universally stands out among players. It's nice there's so much stuff, but is it fitting for the player to be given these things at the times you are in that quantity? Probably not.
Tip for everyona: Materia equipped on not used party members also gat ap and can level up, so if you have any materia you have not maxed out yet equip it on someone.
I feel the minigame pain on getting max rewards first time however the rewards usually are worth it. Some are even weapons which means more character utility
12 was my favorite title in the FF series. This and Remake have now taken the top spot. I never played the originals because of aesthetics so I'm glad Square decided to remake this title, as well as they did on top.
YMMV, but in my playthrough, I played on normal and skipped just about all the side content after grasslands except QB. I didn't feel over leveled for the most part. Then after I beat it, I switched to dynamic and went back to do the side content. Because you're getting pretty good chunks of narrative with the odd jobs, it's almost like a halfway new game plus, particularly with dynamic difficulty. Plus the hard mode versions of the mini games are open right away, so you can knock out both levels at once.
About 8 hours into the game, next Main Story goal is to cross the swamp.... Have all Materias from Chadley, all submissions done, about anything I could do except training the non party members (Barret and Tifa) for their weapon skills... Think I'll do that and then head through the swamp XD Also is there another weapon chest anywhere except the one for Aerith and the one for Cloud in the first open world area?
@@SecretAgentHam thanks for the info. Clouds weapon was also called unmissable, but since I entered the area from the side I didn't see the chest and only heard about it from a video 🤣

Great video thanks! I’m not sure if it’s a bug but I’ve assessed all 16 enemy types and fought the boss bird to complete Blinded by the Light, yet the bird is not showing up in the battle simulator…am I missing something. Blinded by the Light is the only thing I can’t complete though I’ve completed all the requirements. Am I missing something? Thanks
I get what you're saying on resenting stuff. I got stuck on one of the Fort Condor maps and got REALLY frustrated, then decided to just leave it for now and come back later.
The best chapter to go back through all the side stuff with all members is 12 if you want to do that. It will make some stuff a pain just for the fact you'll likely be overleveled if you aren't on hard mode.
Are there any benefits to maxing out the mini games early? Like in FF Remake Integrade DLC, I got $10,000 Gil which helped me beat Ramuh without leveling up.
At this point, other than the stupid minigames needed for the platinum, my biggest gripe is that it is difficult to get used to using the synergy stuff because 90% of the battles are over before you can build up enough bars to use the skill, so I have no idea what's good and what's not because I've only used each one a couple times. Makes it more difficult in the boss fights where they are actually useful.
mine was not realizing the summon Materia fights can be made easier by doing the shrine missions.... in fact i did all the shrine missions and still beat titan at full might before showing a freind how hard it was and while i was showing it off i saw the description of the power VVV versions...... total facepalm moment... got good at perfect blocking though with that fight =P
The OG FF7 had a ton of mini games. If ur opinion is that u don’t like them, that’s fine. But I would be careful to call skipping them a Tip. This game, this series, is a love letter to the fans. Its primary focus is nostalgia.
A very fun game to play and the storyline just as good as the old one but with more details.I know I got some hater out there but shit man time have changed and you gotta move with time ppl.I play this when it came out back in 96 ,97 and it was advanced back then and the story telling was an masterpiece.
Thanks for the tip on the leveling nodes!....and how the synergy skills actually work!....I was wondering why they are hardly ever available to me!...the game doesn't do a good job explaining that!
I’m still annoyed resting doesn’t always play the sleep jingle from OG. That should happen any time you rest and the screen awkwardly fades to a silent black (or high is unnecessary.)
i don’t understand people hating on the side content. i’ve played ff7 a million times, i know what’s gonna happen lmao i’m not rushing thru it. i’m really happy we finally have another FF game that feels like an FF gsme. they’ve always been loaded with optional content and mini games and shit. that’s part of them. like. i feel like people hating on that shit just aren’t fans of FF, they just like ff remake and kingdom hearts. maybe 16 at most
On ch 7, 53 hours in and I found the main game and side quests pretty good so far. Out of the mini games, Queen's Blood is awesome, best card game in the franchise. The pirate shooter, not my thing. As for the rhythm games, they are just bad by design, they suck, and its not just me. In the parade I kept getting bad hits when I knew I aced the section. Figured out that the spam triangle portion is broken and picks up the input only 20% of the time. The Crush body builder mini game is not much better, as the button commands for transitioning from min button press to full press only work about 10% of the time. But the Piano game is by far the worst, the controller is just not made to get the tight angels. Thankfully the crafting system and rewards aren't bad, unlike in Final Fantasy 13. So while the mini games are real hit and miss, the rest of the game is worth the price and a real contender for game of the year.
Level cap is 70, all my party is at 70. Hard mode is really hard unless you are at level cap. Midgarzolom killed my entire party in one hit on hard mode while I was at level 60 so had no choice but to grind out the last 10 levels, which is easily done with exp plus materia and doing the grasslands combat simulator.
Mini games is not a problem. Don’t try to star the piano. Rank A is ok but to get a star on Tifa I sank about 2+ hours and still didn’t manage to get it. 35650 out of 36000 it’s literally insane and as far as I understand you don’t actually need to star it to get all the achievements. Mini games were fun. Something to give you distraction from constant fighting.
"Free items"Yo guys idk if anyone knew this but find a point like in the mythral mine wheres theres lots of boxes you can brake and get items brake the boxs save the game then load the game the boxes reappear 😂. Giving you items over and over again sometimes they will be empty but just repeat the save and load. I did it when i was playing with Barret right after when cloud, tifa, and aerith opens the gate for you. Im gonna try it in another spot but it dose work. I got like 60 Phoenix down, 80 potions, and 60 Grenades. Plus other items i just dont remember what they where
The mini games didn’t ruin the pacing of the story you did. However I did the same thing as you and it didn’t ruin anything for me, so I’m hearing you prefer movies to video games nothing wrong with that.
Good point about proficiency of weapons to 100%. Remake made a point of it. I am in the minority. I don't like QB. Valhalla and Witcher 3 had better games. Also, at the Golden Saucer in chapter 8, it shoveled me into a mini game (boxing)... and I couldn't beat it. I couldn't move forward. I reloaded an earlier save, but I can not progress further. Is there any way I can avoid the Golden Saucer and still get to chapter 8?
It really annoys me that they are called synergy skills and Synergy abilities because that suggests you get synergy meter from using the skills to then use the abilities when in actuality it just gives you atb. I wish they had called it tag team skills or something. it really messed with me and I wasn't ever getting synergy abilities charged like ever and the game was made way harder for me because of that.
idk why they decided to make summons in vr again its lowkey so lame they could atleast make a cooler environment for the fight but hey atleast the music is cool
Lmao.....guy says summons are so critical and such, yet I have only summoned them once for the trophy and that is it. Other than the stat boosts I find no use for them. Maybe Phoenix but that is it.

Tip for everyona:
Materia equipped on not used party members also gat ap and can level up, so if you have any materia you have not maxed out yet equip it on someone.
The battle settings makes it so much easier than going thru the menu for example l1 + x is better than scrolling thru the menu to do fira
About 8 hours into the game, next Main Story goal is to cross the swamp.... Have all Materias from Chadley, all submissions done, about anything I could do except training the non party members (Barret and Tifa) for their weapon skills... Think I'll do that and then head through the swamp XD
Also is there another weapon chest anywhere except the one for Aerith and the one for Cloud in the first open world area?
Barrett has a weapon in a chest after you cross the swamp. There is a bit of a cinematic clip that shows it, so it’s hard to miss. Have fun!
@@SecretAgentHam thanks for the info. Clouds weapon was also called unmissable, but since I entered the area from the side I didn't see the chest and only heard about it from a video 🤣
Even if u miss them u can buy them
@@jesusrodriguezcolon8315 I know, but my hard earned Gil!! XD
@@stuffandthings617 haha I won't need all of it
Can someone please help me?
At 0:45 in this video how can get to this menu? And what is it. I never saw this. Do I have to unlock it first?
My menu looks totally different 😔
It's Chadley's own section when you press the touch pad, press R2/L2, it says Chadley, then R1/L1
Thanks
I've watched your builds for rebirth. If you have fire and ice on Aerith what to you use to attach to Cloud's elemental materia?
I’m going to do all of these and you can’t stop me!
Arn't you in the wrong game Eunie?
I'm not on my hard playthrough yet, but I have heard that resting on Chocobo stops also restores MP?
I get what you're saying on resenting stuff. I got stuck on one of the Fort Condor maps and got REALLY frustrated, then decided to just leave it for now and come back later.
Fort Condor is really tough!
Fort Condor is kinda easy. You can exploit it.
@@pegeta
Wouldn't mind knowing how since I keep getting my tail kicked in it.
It follows a rock, paper, scissors style set up. Also if you have your hero units out their limit breaks melt most things in the field. @@kurisu7885
This is the ff7 remake we wanted. Waaay better than the first remake
Is it worth to rush the story to recruit party member them come back for secondary quest and Chadley shitstuff?
You can reset synergy skills for free, for those who bought a bunch and want to add more plus stats
Best tip= KEEP YO EYES AND HANDS OFF OF MY TIFA!!
Mine.
Aerith gang, so we're good. 🗿
mine was not realizing the summon Materia fights can be made easier by doing the shrine missions.... in fact i did all the shrine missions and still beat titan at full might before showing a freind how hard it was and while i was showing it off i saw the description of the power VVV versions...... total facepalm moment... got good at perfect blocking though with that fight =P
I wish they’d make a whole separate full game for queens blood.
A multiplayer queen's blood where we can play against others online..
@@SeanTaylor-bi6eq that would be insane
the cushions remind me of sleeping bags in the older FF games
I got big "Tent" vibes lol
Tifa got two.
This game is like Final Fantasy 7 mixed with Yakuza. I love it
Press W? 6:46
Equipped it... Equipped it good! Or just equip it. 🤪
I didn't understand why I wasn't getting synergy skills during battle...
Thanks for the tip on the leveling nodes!....and how the synergy skills actually work!....I was wondering why they are hardly ever available to me!...the game doesn't do a good job explaining that!
Did you not play the missions in Chadleys simulator? It is explained there in full.
@@stuffandthings617
I did, must've misunderstood then...this was very clear tho.
Tbh,it's not very clear,could've been better regardless@@stuffandthings617
I’m still annoyed resting doesn’t always play the sleep jingle from OG. That should happen any time you rest and the screen awkwardly fades to a silent black (or high is unnecessary.)
i don’t understand people hating on the side content. i’ve played ff7 a million times, i know what’s gonna happen lmao i’m not rushing thru it. i’m really happy we finally have another FF game that feels like an FF gsme. they’ve always been loaded with optional content and mini games and shit. that’s part of them. like. i feel like people hating on that shit just aren’t fans of FF, they just like ff remake and kingdom hearts. maybe 16 at most
Cushions are great for hard mode. They’re the only thing that restore MP in the over world.
lol 85 hours in and im still chapter 9 =)) love every mini games... should do highest score before you move on! =))
Late game. But on hard the cushion restores MP. Haven't found anothet way of resting that does.
@DermotBrophy on hard?
Dang I made a most about hitting 40 hours on chapter 5 and was attacked for taking my time enjoying the game. Wild times man.
Id craft armor with more slots for materia. I had 4 slot ones unlocked pretty early. If everybody has it thats 6 extra slots
He didn't mean it, SE. He loves the minigames! He can't wait to play them when he reaches level 99.
Whew, what were you thinking!
Cant wait
Plus other items i just dont remember what they where
Wait, you can change outfits in the game?🤔
Only in certain areas
You can also change outfits after you beat the game.
There is no "t" in either "equip" or "equipped" 😂
guide on max out party level
ANOTHER HOT TIP: mistakes are part of the fun. Lmfao
Do not be afraid to make them.
My favorite character didn't make it into Rebirth.
RIP the Cidgarette.
Sit down and drink your goddamn tea
No way... You serious?
And they should use Cid's voice of ff16. Best ever cid character and voice by far
@@telmo2430He's in it, just not an active party member like Vincent, in the same way how Red was in Remake
Cid always had a cigarette in his mouth, they've removed it in rebirth, for health reasons I suppose 😂.
Hey man loving the ff7 content!! Did u play Banishers by any chance? Would love to see some content from u on it 🙏
I feel like I'm about to put 300 hours into this game.
One tip should be just pace yourself
There a lot to do and it can be over welming
Hate those mini games, specially for the trophies
It really annoys me that they are called synergy skills and Synergy abilities because that suggests you get synergy meter from using the skills to then use the abilities when in actuality it just gives you atb. I wish they had called it tag team skills or something. it really messed with me and I wasn't ever getting synergy abilities charged like ever and the game was made way harder for me because of that.
Yeah don't play the game your way, play it how these UA-camrs tell you! 🤡😂
You weren't using Barrett?!
Right?? Barret makes the hard to reach enemies much easier. I always keep him in if not for just that.
All those mini-games and still no snowboarding 😡
idk why they decided to make summons in vr again its lowkey so lame they could atleast make a cooler environment for the fight but hey atleast the music is cool
Don't eun through the open world, I'm going back and doing everything now world travel has opened up
Hot take. Its just yakuza with a fraction of the budget.
Lmao.....guy says summons are so critical and such, yet I have only summoned them once for the trophy and that is it. Other than the stat boosts I find no use for them. Maybe Phoenix but that is it.
Dont focus on the mini games to the point of wanting to quit the game.
Equipted is not a word. You may want to try using equipped.
Just use your cushions, you get plenty from just exploring.
"The magic of the PS5" its because the storage is fast lol
Best tip: don’t play those mini game is gonna ruin ur fun
I want some DLC costumes from the gacha game.
