I am a psychotherapist working in a Youth psychatrie here in germany. One of my patients actually discovered u guys and told me how it heledp him realize that it is ok to be cool and tough and still be open to All Kinds of music. I couldnt agree more! @@arthetic6409 den Zwinker-Smiley hast du aber gesehen, oder?
This is amazing!
Ok, I LOST it at "Looking like Jeepers Creepers but singing like Alicia Keyes."
Welcome to Meatloaf. 😂😂
Right! Made me choke whilst drinking my covefefe’
@@TheDigitographer damn, you can still get covfefe ? It's never on the shelves where I live!
LMFAO
"he's a beast but sounds like beauty" lol, right on
Had me Rollin!!
Meat Loaf is very underrated due to him not being "a pretty boy" but his music is amazing and he could sing.
I totally agree with you. Meatloaf was an amazing performer with a voice like no other.
He wasn’t too bad in movies as well.
Have you done Paradise by the Dashboard Light, yet?
The movie that was done I believe by VH1 was really good also and Behind the Music as well.
He's damn sexy. That's my opinion. I'm female.
The thing he “won’t do” is cheat on her. That is the beauty of this song. You find out at the end when she is singing that she has been cheated on before, and he says, “no I won’t do that.” And it just gets you right in the feels. Because it turns the whole song around into this beautiful promise.
The thing he would not do..is turn her. He is playing a vampire. He does not want to ruin the innocence...the humanity.
@@cataranneth8517 no actually the op had it correct he won't cheat on her and he's playing more of a hunchback/phantom of the opera character which I'm guessing is symbolic of cheaters being monsters
@@BloodStainedTear Actually, the point of the song is in the lyrics. He states the thing he wont do just before saying "i wont do that".
I'll never do it better than i do it with you.
I'd never lie to you, Id never forget the way you feel right now,
I'd do anything for love but I wont do those things.
It's common for people to keep mistaking the lyrics but I hope that helps explain it.
Also, the character he is playing is just a generic "magical monster with low self confidence". The bed set they used in the video is from the Bram Stokers Dracula film, with a built in elevator to lay on. They also repeated the scene of the three brides from that film.
According to Wiki, which has a BIG file on this song, this is what is meant my "That" (pasted directly from Wiki)
Each verse mentions two things that the man would do for love, followed by one thing that he will not do. The title phrase repetition reasserts that he "won't do that." Each mention of "that" is a reference to the particular promise that he made earlier in the same verse.[6] The four things he says he will never do are:
"forget the way you feel right now"
"forgive myself if we don't go all the way tonight"
"do it better than I do it with you"
"stop dreaming of you every night of my life"
At the song's conclusion, the woman predicts two things that he will do: "You'll see that it's time to move on", and "You'll be screwing around." To both of these, the male emphatically responds, "I won't do that!"
I never saw the video before and as a girl listening to the song I always thought "anal" lol
"Paradise By the Dashboard Light" - raise your hand if the Twins should do this song! 🤚
probably Bat out of Hell would be better!!
@@franktified could be, but the story behind HOW they got the video made and convinced studio execs to produce the song is pretty fun. Actually making out on the conference table in front of the executives, lol!
They love "story songs" so Paradise By The Dashboard Lights would be amazing
Yup
Definitely Paradise, or 2 out of 3 aint bad
He’s lookin like Jeeper Creepers but sings like Alecia Keys. I just fell out of my chair.
One of your best guys. Keep it up!
Theeee funniest part 😂
Me too!
He's a beast but his voice is a beauty 😂😂😂

Funniest comment ever!!!
After learning about Meatloaf’s passing, I immediately came here remembering your video. Thank you.
The tears have flowed. Introduced to this genius by my parents. My dad and mom used to belt to this artist....nostalgia factor. Peace to his family
I didn't know
I remember being the only Black kid in my neighborhood who knew the words to this song, my Dad is a TRUE California "Beach Boy" only he's a WHOOOOOOLE Brotha and had me listening to rock music growing up!! 😭🤣🤣🤣

This song earned Meat Loaf a Grammy Award for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Solo.
@shiteusername
No, it's not. But, Meat Loaf's been around since the 1970's. He had a big hit then with the song, "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" from the album, BAT OUT OF HELL.
I think this was mid-90s believe it or not.
@shiteusername
Cool!! I think this was for the movie, Beauty And The Beast?
@shiteusername
Lol! So true!! A lot of good info and great memories of past music that moved us! I was not even 10 years old when the album, Bat Out Of Hell, was released and I was singing my head off to Paradise By The Dashboard Light!!! Incredible operatic voice Meat Loaf had!
He passed away this past weekend. He has an awesome voice! RIP Meatloaf
"Is he a monster?" I laughed so hard I gave myself an asthma attack! 😂😂
😂😂😂
“Looking like Jeepers Kreepers sounding like Alicia Keys” best comment every!
Lol, my thought exactly. That's Meatloaf in a nutshell.
That is to funny
That made me laugh. It was so cute.

Some are musicians, some are singers, and then there's Meatloaf - an artist.
I was on my way to D.C for a field trip in 8 the grade. Listened to this constantly! I was SOOO Excited they picked one of my recommend songs.
He had such a bad self image. Now he's over all that crap!
Absolutely right... Too few that are like him..
@Bob S. Here here 🤣FACT!!!
@Nancy McLaughlin WTF are you talking about? The song reached #1in 21 COUNTRIES, 1993! FACTZ! Jesus your a buzzkill/A KAREN!!
See kids, back in the day we used to watch these things called “music videos” which were basically mini movies for songs that would play on MTV rotation for hours and hours.... good times. Great song. Also Michael Bay directed this one.
@Barbara Valencia I lived in a small town that didn't have MTV. Used to love going to my grandparents house, cuz then I could get my "fix" LOL

Yup !
His best song!
And Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad or Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are.
Yes! Please!
I would love to see them react to that!
This is a great song, but if you want to see Meatloaf in his prime, do "paradise by the dashboard lights".
Or basically anything off of Bat out of Hell
Bat Out of Hell is the the alpha and omega of Meatloaf.
@@robotbreakfastconference6365 I agree it's his best, but I haven't found much of his that I don't like. There are one or two, but out of such a prolific artist I think that's pretty amazing.
JeffandRhonda Weaver or Bat out of Hell
Yes yes yes....or two outta three ain't bad.
The full version is like a 12 minute masterpiece 💯
You need to watch and listen to Guns and Roses “November Rain”
Awesome song
YES!!! My absolute favorite by Guns and Roses
Yes, that would be amazing! Everyone in my house knows not to talk during that one.
"Runaway train" by soul asylum... "Losing my religion" by R. E. M. .. y'all are true music heads at the right age.. I love it!!
Runaway train always breaks my heart especially the video.
Any REM
@@tamitaylor3110 I was thinking of suggesting "Stand."
Y'all are the key to the future lil bruhs! I'm almost 40, and I came from a 90% hip hop 10% r&b background. IMO the 90's was the golden era of hip hop. But when I was 17 i got a job at a music store that I worked at for like 5 years. We had to play pretty much everything especially as it became more corporate. My point is that while HAVING to listen to so many genres of music, it really opened up my heart to just the pure beauty of music. I really learned how to not only recognize, but also appreciate something dope, regardless of the genre. It also gave me a history lesson cause by hearing older (for me 60's and 70's music) music I then saw how that current generation of artists were inspired and sampling those older bangers. All this country, or world for that matter, needs is to find a common ground...a common language like music, and maybe we can start to understand each other better. Keep doing your thing and stay blessed.
I love that these two young kids have so many subscribers and I’m betting 3/4 of them are over 45 😀
R.E.M everybody hurts and Losing my religion. Amazing.
Yes Everybody hurts!!
i want a shirt that says, “he a beast but he sing like beauty”
Sunny Webb I want a shirt that says, “back with another banger”!
Classic right?
😩😩😩 I'd f****** buy it!!!!
Yes!!!
Eric Clapton - Tears in a Heaven. Written in honor of his 4yo son who tragically died. Beautiful song.
I can’t even listen to that song and not cry
It sucks and depressing. No way!!
And even the movie it was used for is sad.
Beautiful song tho.
I love Meat Loaf. His voice is amazing, he is made for musical theater!
I just heard this today in honor of Meat Loaf passing. You both are so great. I love that every reaction you have fill us Gen X-ers with nostalgia for our own reactions and you both were on point on appreciating the melody, the piano, the drums, the romance and the drama- this is one of our forever ballads! I appreciate you both so much - specially this year and this month. RIP Meat Loaf 🙏🏽👑
Guns'n'Roses Sweet Child of Mine
Yes! November Rain would be a good one too.

Yes!!
They also need to be exposed to Rocky Horror picture show
Absolutely!
Agreed...Classic!

You want to hear good Meatloaf, listen to “Bat out of Hell”. Absolutely amazing!
I second that statement!!
Yes 🦇🔥
YESSSSSSSS
Best song Meatloaf ever made was Bat out of Hell! All Revved Up is great also!
Yes please! Seeing as though the last one YT blocked & I'm not a Patreon member.
My favorite Meatloaf song would be "Two out of three ain't bad".
Mine too. So sad.
It's the first Meatloaf song I ever heard. It was the mid 70's and I fell in love with his voice. Almost 50 years later and nothing has changed.
Mine too. It used to make me cry
Same.
You should really do, "Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse of the Heart" if you like this one.
Excellent recommendation!
Kaitlin Rose It’s worth noting that “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “I’d do anything for love” were both written by Jim Steinman.
@@dloughy Yep! As well as Celine Dions famous cover of "It's all coming back to me now" and the goth staple I know best, "This Corrosion" by Sister of Mercy (all of which are also EXCELLENT suggestions!)
I was thinking the same when this video started.
Great suggestion!
I am a 60 year old grandmother and you two young men are playing such great music. You are cutting down. You give it all a chance. I really enjoy watching you both!
"sometimes I just pray to the god of sex and drums and rock n' roll" honestly same
And that line was changed to be less controversial, it's sex and drugs and rock and roll, but obviously they didn't want to be seen encouraging drugs 🙄
“Zombie”by the Cranberries and “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes
Cranberries have such a unique sound. Dolores O'Riordan is up there as on of the most recognizable voices.
My kids are 15 & 11 & they love What's Up.
Kudos for ANY Cranberries song! Anything for good harmonies.
Oh yes! What’s up by 4 Non Blondes!! Great idea
OMG 4 Non Blondes would be epic
If you haven't already: Carlos Santana

Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas "Smooth" is one of the best songs EVER!
"Life Is A Lemon (and I want my money back)" is fantastic, but I would really love for their reaction to the poem if you will of Wasted Youth and The Wolf With The Red Roses
Yes.
YES!
Meatloaf was one of the few acts to come to Ireland. During the troubles in northern ireland it was great to be able to go to any concerts. My sister went to see him in the very early 90s in the south of ireland and thought he was fantastic
One thing for sure.... Meatloaf is very theatrical. I HIGHLY recommend his “Paradise by the Dashboard Light.” So entertaining, so funny and with incredible voices. You won’t regret it!
Oh yeah, an eight minute song about getting laid. And a cautionary tale too. Take heed on that song, young dudes.
They need to do the whole album as a series!
"Hes a beast but his voice is beauty" brilliant 👏
I loved watching your reactions! Meatloaf always did amazing theatrical productions for his songs.
He was an amazing theater, tv and movie actor. He was talented and handsome. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
You guys are great. Just discovered you by accident. I grew up in the 70's, still love that music and am once again experiencing that first joy of hearing by watching you. Thanks for making me feel young. Some suggestions: Unchain My Heart by Joe Cocker, and Money for Nothing by Dire Straits.
The WHOLE Bat outta Hell cd.
In the car, turned up!!
Car trip!!!
All 3 Bat out of Hell's even
I wore that album out when I was 19.
The WHOLE album is amazing
oh god, I always bust out laughing at the line "so now I'm waiting for the end of time"
Gotta do Bonnie Tyler - "Total Eclipse of the Heart" if you like this video. Same vibe.
Hmmm I hope you guys check out Jungle Love by Morris Day and the Timw
YES!!!!
The songs are written by the same person! Jim Steinman!
Ahh! So glad you reviewed Meatloaf but unfortunately this is not a great or true Meatloaf song as was quite late in his career and past his peak. You want to listen to Bat Out Of Hell, Dead Ringer for Love or Paradise By The Dashboard Light! You guys rock though!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
SH Paradise by the Dashboard Light, is so epic and is also the definition of storytelling!!!!
Meaty is so talented and his voice is magic. I love that his videos actually tell a story, the costumes, props, all take us for a ride through the lyrics and emotions of them. The video alone must have cost a packet.
Bonnie Tyler “Total Eclipse of the Heart” !
Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton. Guitar is nuts, about the death of his son. Insane song. I'm blown away you haven't done it yet.
I well up every time I hear that one. Such a beautiful piece. Clapton is so good.
I’m dying laughing at you two. “Come on bro you can’t take a monster seriously”. Lmao.
Well..they do have a point...it's fine, but def not rock history category .
I can’t wait until y’all find the music of ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’, and realize Meatloaf is Eddie in the movie. 🤣
BTW you should listen to some Garth Brooks, or even Paula Abdul.
I’ve spent about 5 hours watching you guys today. 5 hours of my life I’ll never get back and I have zero regrets. My cheeks hurt from smiling.
OH MY GOODNESS you've made it to Meat Loaf. Listen to THE TITLE SONG, BAT OUT OF HELL!
Now go for the hard stuff: "Paradise by the dashboard light"!
Definitely! One of the best Meatloaf songs out there!
Definitely!!
Now Bat out of Hell!
I like Bat Out of Hell much better than Paradise
Yes!!!! IDK who suggested this instead of Paradise by the Dashboard Lights??!!!!
I love this song "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" Meat Loaf looks and sounds so fragile his performance touches the soul, he's one of a kind, one in a million, master of rock opera.
He left us too soon but he leaves an invaluable legacy in music... Rest in peace dear Meat Loaf.
Can't go wrong with Meatloaf - It's All Coming Back To Me Now is also a favorite and 2 out of 3. Love the sound!
Omg Your comment about "looking like jeepers creepers but sounding like Alicia Keys" had me rolling in the floor 😂😂😂😂
Stephen Ulmer yes!
It’s crazy to think that Meat Loaf is 72 years old now 😳
What's even crazier is he is so great and talanted..I am 43 and I can remember my daddy playing meatloaf as loud as can be through the house and I learned very quickly how to appreciate the arts of meatloaf..his talents and his theatrics...not enough words could describe meatloaf
I know!! Love Meat 😭
Meatloaf is amazing..and has always been underrated..if y'all haven't listen to paradise by the dashboard light..this man's voice is fkn gold
Just wanted to say........I got very lucky today when I came across your videos. I follow several hundred people across different genres , and I have to say that yours is my favorite by far. To watch you guys listen to and appreciate music of all genres and time periods makes my day. Love it. Keep it up.
Y’all need to listen to Alanis Morissette: “Hand in My Pocket”, “Ironic” and “You Outta Know” .
You oughtta know!
Definately..... You Outta Know!!!!
I am so excited for you both. Music is a way to touch millions of people and their hearts. Great job!!
@ Mini Moeller Totally Agee !!!
I've been getting into Meatloaf hard recently. Truly under-rated music
“Epic” by Faith No More, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Tom Petty - Three must listens.
His Mother Wilma Aday was my grade school principle...
OMG Meatloaf - will never forget seeing them back in the day at The Roxy in NYC. The band came on at 1 AM and played the entire Bat Out Of Hell album live. We were standing at the foot of the stage, in amazement and awe as sweaty Meatloaf and the blonde biker chicks sang and acted out the words we knew by heart. They tore it up. You should listen to Bat Out Of Hell - much more lit! 🔥
IslaSkye It was definitely one of the most memorable live shows I’ve ever seen. I laughed when the twins asked “is he a MONSTER??” - because he was a huge, sweaty beast, pouring out the emotions. I think he even rode a motorcycle on stage, but I can’t remember - maybe I’m mixing that up with Rocky Horror ha ha. Speaking of, Time Warp would be a great song for the twins! 😂
I. Would. Have. Died.
All I can say is I'm well jel.
Bat Out Of Hell is a classic!! Love that album!!!
@@cotontzu1661 Time Warp! Yes!! Better yet, Damn It, Janet!
You need to do “2 out of 3 ain’t bad” by Meatloaf! Plz!
“Is he a monster”. Omg i almost spit out my coffee lololololol
I was rolling too when he said is that Freddie Kruger! These young men are so hysterical. Good analogy of beauty and the beast.
In the early days of MTV the bands make 'concept' videos. Many times they had nothing to do with the song. They were small movies that were supposed to catch your attention and make you stop and watch. Then, if you liked the song, you would consider buying the LP. About 1985 or 1986, a lot of the bands gave up. It was costly and there are some famous directors who got their start with these videos and are now making major, award-winning motion pictures! Artists would also try to get famous people to appear in the videos...Keanu Reeves, Johnny Depp, etc. It seems silly now, but we loved those mini-movies!
The composer of this song is Jim Steinman. Meat Loaf (singer/actor from Michigan, who legally changed his name to that...yes, he was fat and got the nickname as a child from his father) recorded several LPs of Jim Steinman's work. I was watching one of your reactions and you said you loved storytelling songs. Jim is one of the best.
In this song, you have to wait to find out what it is he won't do...which has nothing to do with monsters, it was written as an actual love song. Many times women think that men will say anything just to get sex. If you want to hear a really funny song about the same thing, check out Meat Loaf's Paradise by the Dashboard Light. Anyway, in the end, she feels that she will be 'just another girl' and he will tire of her and start having sex with other woman. He is telling her that his love for her us undying and she is THE one and he will love her for the rest of their lives...he won't get bored with her (he won't do that).
However, what I like about you two is how you can really get on top of things. Yes, this was a mini-movie of The Beauty and the Beast. In the early 80s, these were the videos they made. You can imagine a studio putting out the money to pay all the people, the stunts, the locations, the costumes and the make-up, just to promote their artists and hopefully have a number one song and LP. I know they wouldn't do it now, but imagine the fun we had watching all of these!!
Check out Tom Petty and Heartbreakers doing Don't Come Around Here No More with an Alice in Wonderland setting! This version gets really crazy.
I might, also, point out that near the mid-to-late-eighties, the bands looked back at these and were embarrassed that they did them as they were singers not actors! LOL
I Long for that type of MTV to return I grew up with MTV and cleaning the house while dancing to the music I miss it.
Yes!! Don't Come Around Here No More is still one of my favorite videos, even though it's not one of my favorite songs!!
@@1laurelei1 Mine too, but Tom hated it! LOL
@@drgnclaw We treated it like radio only when a video came on that we liked, we'd stop cleaning and watch it, then go back to cleaning or whatever and just listening!

Meat Loaf's music is very theatrical. My favorite is "I'm Gonna Love Her For Both Of Us".
Celine Dion "It's all coming back to me now " is a similar ballad to this, or Bonnie Tyler "Total Eclipse of The Heart". Try them!
Both written by Jim Steiman. Check out Barbra Streisand’s “Left in the Dark” it has a gust appearance by Kris Kristopherson. Written by Jim as well and a great song!
