- Hi Friends! In today's tutorial we'll be making the Picot Headband! This crochet headband features lots of texture & twisted front! Instructions include 8 sizes ranging from newborn to adult large! In this tutorial i'll also show you how to work a foundation half double crochet and a picot single crochet!

I made this for my teen daughter (she is extremely small), so I actually used a #3 light weight yarn with a (G)4.50 mm hook. I love how it turned out! Very dainty, but the detail was still very obvious. I did 3 repeats. Thank you so very much for this fun and cute headband! It was extremely fun to crochet and was my first time using the FHDC. As a long time crocheter, who has always used the chain method, it was a tad challenging at first but I absolutely LOVE it and got the hang of it quickly. Thanks again!!

I made this twice. The first time I made an adult medium based on my head measurements, but it was way too big. So, I counted the number of stitches that felt comfortable on my head (chain 65) and redid the whole thing. It is so cute and I can't wait for my friends to see it on. ❤ Thank you for the video!
I struggled a little since I've never made a headband but once I did my first one the rest were so easy to do. I usually forget steps and have to re watch the video but this was so easy and well explained that I got it in one go. I really hope your channel grows because I feel like you deserve it 😊

I made this pattern, came out great. Husband said I look like a genie, that I should add a costume gem to the forehead area. I told him to F off . I like my headband/ear warmer.

I just want you to know that when I watched this tutorial I was so happy. You explained how to fold the band so I got it immediately. When you've done it before and/or have experience it's easy. So I just started crocheting last week and I have been practicing over and over just doing my stitches and I'm not greaaaaat but I'm getting there!! I'm making my 3rd one of these! It took me an entire day to get the FHDC down but once I did it moved so much faster! Love it!

I love this headband! It's so pretty and fun/easy to make. It's my new favorite pattern. I make them for charity. Thanks for the great video. For me it was easier to start off by chaining my desired amount of stitches and then HDC next row. I also did HDC for last row instead of SC BLO because I thought that matched the opposite edge better...😊

I was tempted just to sew the ends together. However, I watched how you did it a couple of times and I was able to do the twist. Great tutorial.
Wow! This pico looks like a popcorn stitch, but that's so difficult to do. Instead we can do this😁
I've discovered that though my daughter's head circumference is 21.3 inches, the band is too short and further more with the fold, it's going to be shorter. So I had to extend it to an adult large(another 6 stiches), join the 2 pieces and complete. it fit perfectly! I also believe my stitches could have been tight. I had so much fun, I'm keeping the first one for myself and doing another brand new one for my daughter! Thank you again for the tutorial. I absolutely love it!!

I have been on a headband kick for the last two weeks and this has to be my favorite! I love the was the foundation chain makes the piece have such a nice finished edge on both sides! I had to alter the last few patterns and go back and work a row into the foundation chain to make it have a nice edge. Thank you for such a beautiful pattern and different sizing! We just had our first granddaughter in October and grandma will be making a few for her😉

I love this pattern. I've made three now. Thank you for this pattern. My last one I had to " fix" and the fix came out amazing to me. I made it for a young girl. Then mother decided she was allergic to wool. Well I hadn't sewed it together yet. And it's merino so I didn't want to toss it! Looking at your other ear warmers I noticed one that was much narrow in the middle. So, I single crocheted then decreased. Brought both sides together. Then sewed on pearl beads! Figured I could either hide my addition or highlight it! I placed slightly larger beads right down the seam then outlined my two inch addition with smaller beads!
Lol didn't explain it was about 2 inches too short for me!

@@shelleymiddlebrooks12 I haven’t tried with Cotton but I try to use really soft acrylic yarns so it’s not itchy. If you have a Hobby Lobby around you I really love I Love This Yarn, Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek, or Yarn Bee Yarn ID. They’re very soft!

I am making this project. It’s taking shape and looking very beautiful with the little pop ups.
I do like to suggest that you use a darker background to display clearer your tutorial because your yarn is white and your background is also white. So it makes it a little difficult to identify the stitches.
