We have to remember these channels are real people too, I don’t mean to put them down for having struggled with the cows in the past, rather that I’m happy that this channel is so open and honest about what life is like on a “homegrown homestead” and the challenges that come with it :)

(Edit: or 3 small lap dogs to one large active pup) It’s a huge jump, most people would run to to the same issues, the important thing is that this channel is sharing their honest journey and struggles in their farm Hell I’ve even had a learning curve with keeping cats and dogs properly since my mom was an animal hoarder and taught bad habits, everyone has to start somewhere. I don’t know if you were really replying to me, but this comment I left keeps haunting me bc I truly didn’t mean to take a crap on how they raise their animals :(

But I came from the farming community of NE Ohio and farmers often work together (this was my family's practice). So all that is really different is the community is larger (UA-cam made this enlargement possible). I enjoyed your comment.

Looks like your weather is improving, we had a lovely week of sunshine and heat and then hail, frost and snow this week enough to flatten spring flowers and burn my magnolia flowers. We call them lambing storms here in north east UK, the snow doesn't lie or last but it is a nuisance and usually winters last fling.

yeah from watching other homesteaders it did seem like she was a bit young to be bred/put on hormones but it seems like everything is working out now so not too much was lost and im glad everything is starting to work out with the cows.

Your green house seedlings, you should get some under the seeds get a pad and get some warmth on them. They sell them so water and other things cant damage the heat pad.
First time I ever saw this video and I really like your family and your farm. We had jersey cattle and I just am very fond of him and I am keeping my fingers crossed for you guys it all goes well with the pregnancy. I know that’s stressful for you. It’s one of the reasons my parents eventually got out of raising dairy cattle. They are the most beautiful calendars I think, Not to mention so gentle for children to be around. I loved your son running with the ostriches that was just amazing that he felt comfortable doing it and that they are so loved running with him. You have some beautiful chickens ~ as an Artist I especially am drawn to beautiful feathers and unique markings on chickens as well of course is knowing what they are therefore in terms of eggs and meat.
