You are such a loving and strong woman to take care of your chronically ill husband. My mom had Alzheimer's for 15 yrs. In the last 6 yrs. of her life she was reduced to an infant. I had to do everything for her. To see my mom lose herself and not being able to do anything about it was very heart breaking for me. So I feel your pain. My health suffered as well. We try to be super caregivers. But please try to give yourself some breaks and loving care for yourself. You deserve it! I'm so glad he is getting some enjoyment out of these videos. This story you’ve told has really hit me hard. What a devoted woman you are to take on this task that never ends. I have been chronically ill for 21 years and I am alone, although I had a 40 year teaching career and raised two children mostly on my own. I wish my kids would even call me to see if I’m ok, but they just want me to do things for them. I never hear from my daughter and we used to be best friends until she married a guy who is not a social person and jabbed at me with the most hurtful words I’ve ever heard once they were married, and had a child. I was floored, hurt, and to my dismay, my daughter started acting like I was the enemy as well. I can’t tell you how much this hurts, and I think it’s caused a lot of my anxiety. To make matters worse, my grown son has mental issues from meningitis at age 7. They shame him and hate him. As an owner of Zebra Finch myself, I gotta say THIS IS ADORABLE! My parents had 6+ baby Zebra Finch before I was born, and it's so adorable to finally be able to at least see how adorable they look!

Yeah birds are weird. When birds finally eat on their own, they also collect food in this area before it goes in the stomach. With the baby, you can see the yellow food in the crop after the feeding. This is why it looked like the baby bird was trying to swallow that feeding tube.
Seeing that little heartbeat in the egg was so... humbling. Like, that's life, so precious and delicate, we all start out pretty much like that. Wow. Awesome video.
I held my breath while watching you trying to feed her! It always amazes me how miraculously tiny creatures can be - it looks almost impossible to care for them but you make it happen and it makes us all happy! As a random name my mind instantly came to lil Zipsi. She'll definitely have a blast around your house.
Your patience and your positive energy with her effort to live created this miracle.... So cute the way she responds to your touching like children do to parents... Well done for saving her!! I would call her Miracle. This is what she truly is...
I foster orphaned neonate kittens and I thought feeding those munchkins was hard! Watching you feed that tiny wee baby was truly a sight to behold. It was absoutely beautiful and really quite magical 🥰

This was one of the most amazing animal videos I have ever watched! It was really something to see a somewhat burly looking guy with big hands/fingers handle such a teeny tiny baby bird! Not your typical scene! I thoroughly enjoyed watching her grow with your loving care! Quite the bond you two share! Thanks for sharing! ❤
To see you rear that tiny bird made me cry! You restored my faith in life. You're such a big softy, its wonderful to behold. Fabulous video. Thank you !
Its just incredible, how you're able to gently handle this tiny little baby in the size of a jelly bean 😍❤ I'd be so afraid of breaking her 😖 Thank you so much for saving this life 🥰👏❤
You always know just what to do to give animals their best shot at life! You really are a special man! My mom had zebra finches as pets. She didn't know one was male and one was female. One day she saw eggs in the nest! They hatched and she had a house full of baby zebra finches! Those were the tiniest eggs and birds I ever seen in my life!
I'm currently fostering a lonely little kitten and always love seeing what new small animals this man is helping.Keeps me inspired to do what I love, which is help cats in my local community.
I currently am owned by 17 cats. I have raised singletons from 8 hours old…It’s a full time job! Every two hour feeding all day and all night, God bless the Miracle Nipples! Make sure all singletons have socialization with other healthy kittens starting at 4 weeks of age. Otherwise they have difficulty socializing as a feline to people. ❤️
I was looking at videos of Zebra Finches and saw this. Read about 10 of the comments and couldn't really add to all the comments, just agree with them & how you've touched my heart. If the world had more people like you it would be a much better place!! Cried tears of joy! I grew up in a home with a canary that danced & a parakeet. Later, after my divorce, I bought 2 Zebra finches & 2 other finches. They were such a joy! I had them for 5 years & sadly gave them away when I moved for a time to Alaska. I would love to have some again. Thank you for reminding me how special they are. 😁♥
What a Beautiful story! I am amazed at how gentle you can be with such big hands dealing with such a tiny egg! Thank you for sharing this heartwarming adventure that tugs at the heartstrings! A very Lucky little Bird to be saved by such a kind Man!
Such a beautiful little bird! I held my breath when you were trying to feed her that first time- she was SO tiny! I would be scared to touch her thinking she could get hurt. It's incredible how gentle and motivated you are to give every little creature a chance at life. I don't know why, but when I saw her the name "Zuzu" came to mind. I think it suits her :)
What does this have to do with humanity? Human beings are suffering and he is helping a bird. It has nothing to do with humanity. When he helps fellow human beings then i would be impressed. Many people save birds every day. Some people actually help humanity save staring children and families which is much more significant that a little finch.

Oh my god, what an amazing film! It didn't seem possible that this baby would thrive, but this man has the patience and the tenderness of an angel. I hope we see more of this little one as she grows.
The best thing I've seen on UA-cam. As a small boy I raised a Great Tit, Magpie & blackbird. All adapted to their own kind and the magpie came back to see me for about 6 hrs 1 year later. He tapped on my bedroom window, I took him in to mum and dad's bedroom to show him off. I fed him, we played together, we visited his old haunts then Monty went. 53 years ago. I loved them all.

OMGoodness. That tiny face with the tiny white feathers for hair on top of the head is too much cuteness for someone to bear. This is the cutest thing I've ever seen. May God bless you for saving these precious animals.
One of the most poignant videos ever. I was tearing up from the tiny heartbeat inside the egg. How tiny , how wonderful .this man must be an amazing human being . Can you imagine e the good in him, yes we need millions like him ! Amazing how gentle he had to be , and patient . I was in awe!!!
God, you are the most patient man in the world… I am amazed how you manage to feed and grow such tiny creatures to beautiful birds… one sudden move and this miniature bird could get damaged… thank you so much for being such a unique saviour of lives…
I was whistling at the screen while you were first trying to feed her to help encourage her to open up 😂💛 and seeing the tiny heartbeat in the egg made me think of Dr. Suess's Horton Hears a Who: "A person's a person, no matter how small." Such a sweet reminder how precious all life is. 🥰🙏🏻

You, my kind sir, have restored my faith in humanity. I can't stop watching and I can't stop crying tears of love and joy. This is absolutely beautiful.❤
This was reminding me of trying to nurse my kids when they were newborns. Newborn babies don’t even have head control; I would have to hold them in one arm like a football, while shaping and supporting my breast with the other (a boppy pillow is a lifesaver, though a plump regular pillow can also be made to work). But this little speck of life couldn’t even fit a whole drop in her mouth at once! Major kudos and snaps, foster daddy! 🫡👍❤️
This is so sweet. This is fantastic documentary storytelling and I adore the final sequence with her! It's amazing how they are so comfortable around you and it goes to show the time and care you put in for them. I'd never seen a chick without their feathers eat, so I was surprised to see how their neck bulges with their food. I guess that's normal? Now I'm curious...
MaryCarl on Mrs Cog Hill and Cog Hill Farm talks about their crop and how to know when it's full as she hand feeds her baby pigeons. She is born to be a bird whisperer, too.
Birds actually have quite large crops, it just doesn’t occur to us how big they are because usually they are covered with feathers. But in this case, (a featherless baby bird with basically clear skin) we can see wonderfully just how big it is!
Yeah its amazing right! It'd their crop. It fills before the stomach snd when the stomach empties they swallow whats in the crop then repeat. Kind of like storage.
@@hi_artmoto It does. If I remember correctly, Mary Carl said that they will keep asking for food even after their crop is full. I think she said you go by feel and stop when their crop feels firm because that means it's full. It was pretty cool watching her demonstrate with her baby pigeons. They had feathers already, but when she lifted the feathers we could still see the white food through their skin. And she showed how it was still squishy before it was full. It must have been so much harder for Alwyn to get it just right with his tiny zebra finch baby.
*I'd sure like to have a friend who is as gentle and caring as this guy. Everyone could use a nurturer in their time of need!! What a beautiful video to start my day with! When I saw that tiny heart beat away inside that tiny egg, I had goose bumps all over. Well done! You just made the world a little bit better with your kindness!
And just think, a human fœtus has a heartbeat. And "compassionate" "liberals" who care about the "vulnerable" and "powerless" think you should be able to poison them, crush their skulls, rip them into little pieces with forceps and suck them out with a vacuum hose.
This was absolutely precious and i actually cried. She's so lucky to have you and you are an amazing person to do everything you could to make sure she would hatch and then survive. Love it!
I am a full adult man and I cried too. I was thinking how fortunate this bird was to be born into a world with such a kind and caring soul. All of it is a miracle!

And you mean it's good that animals are in prison? I think birds belong in the wild, not in cages/prison. An animal must want to live with a human voluntarily. And the egg is a sub-part of a bird in prison.

@@anyascelticcreations Ah so that's what they're called! "Crops"! I'm sure it takes some experience and focus to keep from overfeeding them.
