How can I buy your honey and where I live in Brevard North Carolina? We really got hit hard by the hurricane Helena and I just found your channel and I would really love to try your honey. I am a 55 year old Nana of three children and I love the concept of your way of life, please let me know where and how I can buy your honey with a comb please❤mary
My god I would not exaggerate if I said I grew up watching you and your family. Started watching you while i was at high school and now I’m preparing my masters degree. thank WHOTH for all the memories❤️🩹
Hello from France, I learned to remove the wax capping of the frames on a separate bucket. It helps after extracting with the filters. And we let the honey sit for at least a week so that the air bubbles and impurities can rise to the top, where you can easily scrape it off. Beautiful harvest of valuable gold. Keep up the good work.
From one beekeeper to another, here's one small tip. Run your knife along the top and bottom of the frame and scoot it back and forth to just cut off the top layer. The comb should stick out just enough to do that without damaging so much comb. It save the bees tons of work and allows them to fill them up quicker. Unless you are wanting to take a bunch of wax too for other rendering projects. Great video, many people have come from your video to view my own 😊🤙🏽
So glad your beautiful family shares with us. You are still my favorite channel. I've watch for years now. I remember when you only had the 2 oldest boys and they were so young. Every time I watch they are all growing up so fast. God bless you all and thank you so much for sharing with us.
I love your response to those saying not to take their honey. Imagine owning a dozen bee hives, taking care of them, making sure they don’t get hit by disease or anything and not taking their honey. They produce waaaay too much honey for themselves anyway. I really appreciate you being very honest with unhappy commenters. Despite how negative they can be and I’m sure frustrating to read, you react to them perfectly 👏 you guys make me want to own some beehives in the future 🥰
And like honey can be good for you, if you suffer from pollen allergies, honey from nearby flowers can help to give your immune system more resistance to their pollen.
So proud of Uriah this is so cute. I started watching a few years ago when he was just a baby and now he’s responsible for a whole hive by himself, it’s very sweet to witness :]
Didn’t even get all the way through the video before buying from Uriah. I’m a sucker for supporting youth. (Long time scout leader, youth coach, and substitute teacher!) So Uriah, I have a couple questions for you. Do you know what your profits are after considering how much your materials cost? And have you figured out how much you were able to pay yourself hourly? I loved asking those types of questions when helping my kids with their 4th grade sale projects. So many parents let their kids keep all the money but I loved teaching mine about the value of paid help (me since I was their slave labor 😂) and I asked them to pay me back for materials I purchased to start them out. It was amazing to see that little lightbulb click when they understood the true value! Good work in starting that entrepreneur and can’t wait to taste the honey! ❤
legit business questions. HOWEEVER, if farmers broke down their profit into hourly wages, we wouldn't have many farmers left. part of your profit is being proud of your hard work and final product. i know that Uriah is proud that you requested his honey. thanks for being a kind person.
I understand that farmers work more than they likely recoup. I Contis used this a homeschool type learning question. When kids grasp those ideas they learn so much about themselves and the world around them. Several kids in my son’s class were not made to pay back parents or pay their help. It wasn’t a real representation of how the world works. My kids learned to make money and learn that sometimes you need “investors” to get started. The reality is, WHOTH puts a lot more into the UA-cam channel and the farm then they will EVER see in financial returns. I was only asking the questions since he’s making it a little business! However it shakes out he should be proud of what HE did this summer!!!
Good questions… yes, we can calculate that but putting the last few years in, the hours much outweigh the end result. But atleast there’s something to show for his efforts this year.
God's Grace is abundantly upon your family and your combined hard work in your apiary. Wow, what a honey haul ❤❤❤. I'd like to thank you as a California small business owner, for teaching your son a strong work ethic by helping him with his business start-up. You and your wife are a wonderful parental team. I really enjoyed this awesome awesome vid. Thank you❤❤❤❤. I will try to purchase your product if you ship to California. I hope so.
Jake, you are doing wonderful work with your bees! One thing! Maybe help you save the cost of a queen. When you place a queen cage into a hive, turn the cage so that the screen is parallel to the bottom of the box. The bees in the hive feed the queen. With the screen up, the bees wanting to give the queen sustainance have to approach her back. With the screen down, the attending bees can produce food and water proboscis to proboscis. One of the objectives in queen introduction also is to spread the queens' pheromones. This is more easily accomplished, screen down. She will actually lower her abdomen to the screen. I've never seen it happen where she has to do "pull-ups"! Thanks for your great video.

I’ve followed you for a long time, you and your family have successfully helped pollinate more and more land. A very important part of our ecosystem. The bees gladly produce sometimes up to 3-4 supers, leaving plenty below for them, you have become true commercial beekeepers, congrats!!!!
Hey Jake, i had a suggestion for your honey jar shipping. I suggest you add bubble wrap around the jar after the paper wrapping to add more safety to the har during shipping. Also put fragile sticker on the box to tell the shipping company it is glass inside the box. This may add more cost to the shipping but happy costumer who is your fan getting their jar of honey is more worth it. Well done. I am also surprised with your harvest this year. That very a lots of jar.

This is not an uncommon way of thinking. In fact, it's the entire premise of being a moral vegan (it's conservatively estimated that there are about 75-90 million vegans around the world, so it's not a small number). This practice centers around not using/taking animal products. If it is made by an animal, it belongs to them. This includes milk, eggs, meat, leather, honey, etc. Animals work hard to produce their products and exploiting and killing them for their meat or product is selfish and wrong. There are people who are vegan purely for health benefits, but the thought behind moral veganism is no violence or exploitation of animals. Respecting this choice and not mocking people for their religious and/or moral compass is not okay. Let's be kinder. ❤

I just learned that what your doing is screening honey not filtering it. There is a big difference. Stuff sold in stores goes through a filter.. most small beekeepers screen honey with a similar screen or exactly the same screen your using
Can you send the dead Queen to your AG Center for your state or county (whichever deals with bees) and have them check the genetics? Some areas can and they check for % of the dangerous Africanized killer honey bees. Neighbors of a relative that have kept bees for years, and gift jars to my family for putting up with them and allowing storm traps on their land, suddenly had a hive become aggressive. They decided to replace the Queen before killing the whole hive. Their nice calm Queen was not in the hive anymore. She had been replaced by the aggressive one. The first Queen replacement was killed by the hive. The owners destroyed all eggs or larvae that was young enough to turn into a Queen and after waiting for another week or two they again replaced the Queen. As the older bees are dying off the hive is getting calmer. Turns out that the aggressive Queen was nearly 50% africanized.
Nope. She's a hot one and that's all that matters. Knowing the supposed genetics does nothing. Culling is common practice in the commercial side of beekeeping.
Honestly. Such a cool video. Loved it. I’m watching hours and hours of bee related videos right now. Your stuck out like a stinger as being one of the best. Thank you.

I just love you and Becky. Your kids are going to know so much more than most, how to do things and OMG! Uriah does such a good job, A hard job, but he does it and loves it.
Y’all are rocking this whole bee hive thing! I love how far you’ve come with it! ❤️❤️ I can’t tell you how much I love watching your vlogs every week. Hoping one day I’ll get to buy some honey from you!
I personally recommend the excluders. It makes it a lot easier to pull off the supers because if there is no brood you know the queen is in the lower hive. Also just ensures you got more honey and solid brood frames.
Don't know if it will help but if u get a sec check out just Alex he is a bee keeper aswell from the UK filters the honey a bit different to you might make filtering it a little easier with less wax blocking up your filters .. nice honey harvest though
Culling a hot queen, great. If you can also cull all the drone brood. They carry the behavior gene. Consider getting rid of the roller uncapper. As you found, those make a crap load of fine wax that plugs the metal filters. Having several filters on hand also gets rid of the plugged filter bottle neck. Good luck.
Yep, easy for the boys to use but didn’t work great. We’ve tried a number of devices over the past 5 years, just experimenting until we find what we like.
I remember seeing a documentary on killer bees. It seems the aggressiveness was passed down through the drones, not the queens (surprisingly). If that hive is still aggressive even after re-queening, try bringing in some drone cells from a less aggressive hive and see if that helps. Also, have you considered changing over to horizontal hives? They seem a whole lot less invasive for the bees, easier to check, easier to harvest, and better insulated. Just a thought.
i love how calm you are when you are in the suit and the bees can't get to you but when your out of the suit and the bees come and get you that's scary and funny
I did almost the same growth you did this yr! Good job my man its not easy!! I went from 4 hives to 25 double deep hives now! And I also got 40gallons of honey off said hives. Pretty incredible! I got the instavap, been having good mite kills with it. Did mite checks prior to and after doing 5 treatments of OA. Got it down to 1-2 mites per wash cpl had zero.
Hello to you all. It is great you can teach your kids how to do all that. & your 1 boy is getting to care for that Purple Hive & sell what he got from it.
OOO I was able to get me a jar this round. I did miss out on a Uriah jar. I would of loved that. BUT I did get a different one. So proud of the kids there helping and doing there best with the farm. Love your videos and LOVE what you guys do.
Almost can't believe you could get that many jars of honey. I thought the ratio of wax to honey and the size of a hive that you would only get say a jar or two per frame. Have you ever thought of getting a bunch of local wild flower seeds for in the spring and just randomly spreading them to cover a field area or all along the property? Would be fun to see the border covered in different flower colors or you could try to grow colors in a gradient like a rainbow with oranges flowing into yellows and reds. Would be neat to hear if the bees start to favor some flowers and if it makes the honey taste a bit different 😉
Great video! It was fun to watch. Just a tip... use a separate tote to uncap the frames. that'll keep the extractor way cleaner and allow you to filter far less through the double sieve. there are a bunch of uncapping tank options out there. You will notice a difference in efficiency immediately after
Love your videos! The beekeeping videos are what hooked me on this channel originally. I only watched your bee content at first but along the way I fell in love with your family and farm and watch all your content now. Still partial to the bees though lol
Have you seen how Erika Thompson on Texas Beehive do it without any protection? She scoops the bees with her hands. And its another day of saving the beeessss. You should collab with her ❤😊
😂 she's collecting swarms, not extracting honey from a hive in late summer/ early fall. BIG DIFFERENCE. No one works their hives in dearth during harvest without at least a veil. Bees in swarms aren't defensive because they don't have anything to defend.
Now you are getting bigger with honey production, have you thought about beeswax candles? I know this might take away from the farming, maybe someone who can do it will partnership with you? I only buy beeswax candles as the smell last throughout the candle. It is more expensive to purchase but I would love the fact I could support you from uk and I love using natural products. Maybe something to think about (if you haven’t already! 😜)!
Have you considered getting a centrifuge machine for the wax caping to spin out the honey? I know machines are expensive but I was curious if it was on your radar for the future.
Screened honey has more particulates in it still where filtered honey that literally goes through a filter similar to a coffee filter if guess but not the same thats just a reference to a filter..
Holy cow! This is a bunch of honey! I'm glad you decide to do such great things with it but here's an idea you probably considered but weren't too interested or forgot to mention. Have you considered keeping your honey you produced and started to make mead out of it? Homemade mead is very simple to make and takes 2 to 8 weeks to ferment depending on what kind of stuff you put in it as well. It's a very fun process I think you and your wife would enjoy and maybe your kids when they get a little older lol. Anyways, just a thought and I love the videos very much! Please never stop making these!
Is shipping only within USA? Watching your contents makes me feel involved in your farm activities and honey harvesting. Now I want a taste of the honey! But I'm staying in Singapore though

Awesome video! We have two hives, and brand new to it, started with one that swarmed and caught them, made a 2nd one, had yellow Jackets get under the one hive they attack us, they go under and eat the honey bees that are pushed out and die under the hive.

My gosh they bee's have been busy making everyone happy.
Every thing your family does you do to the fullest. I really enjoy following along. WHAT A GREAT harvest of honey!! Bravo. Just placed an order.. Thank you.. It didnt look like it was going thru with paypal but did on the third try with credit card..
It has been such a joy to watch your farm and channel succeed through the years. You have come so far keep dreaming big and we will keep watching you achieve the dreams
Thank you for following along!
Yay, I have always wanted to try honey right out of a hive I saw them doing...thk u guys, keep up the good wk...ur family is awesome
Fabulous harvest of liquid sunshine. Well done Uriah.
I just love you and Becky. Your kids are going to know so much more than most, how to do things and OMG! Uriah does such a good job, A hard job, but he does it and loves it.
Thank you so much!
Way to go !! You have come so far in this year. Seeing the kids grow and learn is really inspiring ❤
Thank you so much!
Y’all are rocking this whole bee hive thing! I love how far you’ve come with it! ❤️❤️ I can’t tell you how much I love watching your vlogs every week. Hoping one day I’ll get to buy some honey from you!
Thank you so much!
So happy for you guys. I've watched your struggles while learning when you first started and what a beautiful honey harvest this year 💖
Thank you so much!
I personally recommend the excluders. It makes it a lot easier to pull off the supers because if there is no brood you know the queen is in the lower hive. Also just ensures you got more honey and solid brood frames.
I understand… I’ve tried using them in the past and had little success in the supers. Maybe I’ll try them again next year.
So happy for all the honey. 🎉🎉
Don't know if it will help but if u get a sec check out just Alex he is a bee keeper aswell from the UK filters the honey a bit different to you might make filtering it a little easier with less wax blocking up your filters .. nice honey harvest though
OMG i just came fr Just Alex’s youtube and i saw this video 🥹 i love them both
I am so proud of how much you guys have learned and how often you incorporate the boys along the journey. 🎉❤
Thank you so much! We were pretty determined to figure beekeeping out, it has been well worth the journey
Just a thought.
i love how calm you are when you are in the suit and the bees can't get to you but
when your out of the suit and the bees come and get you that's scary and funny
Yep, scary for me and funny for you 😂
@@whitehouseonthehill are you used to being stung
I did almost the same growth you did this yr! Good job my man its not easy!! I went from 4 hives to 25 double deep hives now! And I also got 40gallons of honey off said hives. Pretty incredible! I got the instavap, been having good mite kills with it. Did mite checks prior to and after doing 5 treatments of OA. Got it down to 1-2 mites per wash cpl had zero.
Hello, Congratulations on all the honey you got. Looks amazing. Can’t wait to get mine
hurrah so happy to see I am lucky enough to get some of your honey, thank you for selling it
Was a bit late to watch and click on the honey link, all of Uriah's honey is gone!!
So happy for him!! 🤗🤗🤗
Will get one of the other one
Yay! Finally got some Honey and Uriah’s hive at that. Been watching for years and enjoy your content. Keep up the great life and awesome videos 😊
👏🏻👏🏻
Hello to you all. It is great you can teach your kids how to do all that. & your 1 boy is getting to care for that Purple Hive & sell what he got from it.
OOO I was able to get me a jar this round. I did miss out on a Uriah jar. I would of loved that. BUT I did get a different one. So proud of the kids there helping and doing there best with the farm. Love your videos and LOVE what you guys do.
Thank you!
Can we see some Bamboo hugging an how big the hatched emo are now? Please.
Well done! What a great honey harvest! ❤🐝
Great video! It was fun to watch. Just a tip... use a separate tote to uncap the frames. that'll keep the extractor way cleaner and allow you to filter far less through the double sieve. there are a bunch of uncapping tank options out there. You will notice a difference in efficiency immediately after
What a beautiful color this year! Great job.
🐝🐝🐝
Thanks!
Love your videos! The beekeeping videos are what hooked me on this channel originally. I only watched your bee content at first but along the way I fell in love with your family and farm and watch all your content now. Still partial to the bees though lol
That is awesome!
One arrangement for renting farm ground is 1/3 for the landlord [the people who own the bee hives / farm ground ] and 2/3 for the farmer [the bees]
@@lizzysanders523 Great response!
@@lizzysanders523 hey pretty, imagine if they collab, that’s my point. The guy collects swarms too. And it was another day of saving the beeeeesss.
Yes, we are currently rendering the wax down and we have a lot of it… Becky will make some soaps and candles later on with it.
Let's go Uriah! I hope his honey sells really well! He worked hard and so did all of you :)
It sold out in a couple hours… Uriah was pretty excited. Thanks, Ike!
Absolutely fantastic watching from Australia 🦘🦘🇦🇺🇦🇺
Great Work ..... Well Done to ye all ....... ☘
Awesome harvest, great job.
I am waiting for your next "homesteader" projects to be beauty products from the bees wax. Lip balms, deodorants, candles, etc.
We’ll play around making some products with our wax to see what we can come up with 👍🏻
I would paint that box a calmer color!
Bees see light and dark, they don’t see specific colors
Do you sell your beeswax? There are convents and monasteries that make candles from bricks of beeswax.
First year Beek here, we started late as well, but i got a jar!
Left the rest for the girls for the wintern
Thank you for sharing I love you watching how things are done that I will never have opportunity to dp
Yes, as we get more each year we’ll try to experiment with that
Try use some escape boards next time they work a treat and the trick is to grab the supers off before they wake up
Is shipping only within USA? Watching your contents makes me feel involved in your farm activities and honey harvesting. Now I want a taste of the honey! But I'm staying in Singapore though
We ship everywhere that accepts it through customs
Watching you struggle to start your apiary before being able to grow it this large is amazing ❤
Thank you so much!
That is so awesome! Praise God! Wonderful!
Wow!! That is amazing. Great job!
Thank you, Constance!
How can buy one honey 🍯! I really need one for my pancakes 🥞 and tea! I am happy that Uriah is learning about responsibility and save his own money for the future 😊. God bless you amazing family and your animals ❤️
Right here: bit.ly/2024honey
Just purchased some of Uriah’s honey! Cant wait to try it 😊
Enjoy watching your videos keep up the good work👌🏻
I bought your honey last year! So good. Glad to see the top changed. Loved the cork, but that’s a nice lid. Way to go WHTH! 🎉 amazing bee season!
thats pure naturial, and thats the best.
Can you imagine what the world would be like is all children were as pleasant and hard working as yours?! Yes, I am aware they aren't perfect however, they are willing!👏🤟🙏💞
We sure appreciate it 😊
Wow! That’s a lot of honey. Those bees have been working!
Will we get an emu update? Didn’t you have some babies this year?
Happy and Sad! I just tried to order a jar of Uriah's honey and you're SOLD OUT! Big congrats🥰
i just bought one of uriah's honey after finishing this video! i havent had honey in so long, im super excited to try the honey and incorporate it into my meals :))
Hope you like it!
Yay just bought a jar!!!❤ yum!!
I absolutely love how Silva has the glowing leaves it is super cool and pretty she always will hold a special place in my heart❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome video! We have two hives, and brand new to it, started with one that swarmed and caught them, made a 2nd one, had yellow Jackets get under the one hive they attack us, they go under and eat the honey bees that are pushed out and die under the hive.
I suspect what ever Uriah does in life he will be great at it. So young and you can tell a hard worker, and seems to enjoy it all!
Just bought a jar of your honey Uriah (thank you for all your hard work)! 🐝🐝🐝 I bet it's the best honey I will have ever had!!!
Hope you enjoy it!
Awesome harvest!
Thank you!
FANTASTIC ! !
