- When a man was raised out in the desert by a couple of violent, drunken parents who abandoned him, he began to grow very out of control and violent himself. After a life of getting nothing but one after another slap on the wrist for his numerous crimes, he began to grow more bold... leading him to do the unthinkable. Many times.

As someone that consumes an unhealthy amount of true crime content, it's rare that I have a case delivered that I'm entirely unfamiliar with. This is one of those rare times. Nicely done, Mr. Trip. And happy Father's Day to all of the dads who read this!
Same usually I don’t watch a new upload on some channels I follow since too many repeats.
Had a funny time when that chapter and coffee house crime both just happened to be covering the same case on the same day. That was a random one.
Thanks, dude.
Yeah I definitely would have remembered that murder plot, that this absolute scum bag actually got away with.... Got to admit it's a decent plan for self defense case
Fathers suck.
@pabloschweinsteiger3954 Sorry you feel that way. Mine did, personally, but I don't lump all fathers (including myself) into that same category.
Dude had no problem with ppl knowing he was a rapist but drew the line at ppl thinking he was gay? Wow.
Well, one is perceived dominant, the other not.
tells you everything you need to know about america
@@darkerthanblack4430 Which is kinda weird if you think about it. Wouldn't having intercourse with other strong men make that the clearly more dominant and masculine activity?
denial is not just a river in egypt
@@99mage99 lol what a strange "logic" 🤔
Stories like this make me realize there's been thousands of people who got away with murder. It's astounding that these deaths weren't investigated.
Clearance rates are near 50% in the u.s. So, half of people arent caught
The fact that his family knew but they never alerted the police they are just responsible for these crimes as well.
As long as the victims are relatively poor and unattractive society won't invest much in finding them. Good luck
You know its so true! I have often thought the same thing. I ask myself if a criminal has about half the intellect and you or I, there has to be many unknown homicides, rapes and kidnappings. God only knows but its a scary thought.
@@kimpeater1 You are dead right! A poor middle aged white woman, wouldn't get much press but a middle aged ,poor black woman, even less, Not to mention if they ever did drugs or had a criminal charge forget it.
Some people should just NOT exist.
🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯
And it’s probably the parents of the people you think it should be..
That's what he said. Lol.
@@markstevens1729 yep this is unfortunately the truth
imagine if most of your American Politicians are like this, what do you think could happen ?
How the hell he kept getting off so easily is wild af!
Probably doing deeds for the elite, if you get my meaning.
The DA's should all be investigated.
He was white and our justice system is broken.
He had to be an informant....
@@johndonahue3509 I honestly thought about that too because ain't no way..
@@johndonahue3509 Exactly, this IS how it works.
Appreciate you reaching out to the family beforehand, very respectful of you
Wonton disregard? Who can disregard a good dumpling?
I sure can't
Ohohohoho! 🤣
I look like a dumpling. Nasty side effect of loving the tasty things.
I came to the comments cuz this tickled me, too! 😂

I’ve lived 20 minutes away from Barstow my whole life and I have never heard of this case! Great work!!!
That's because it's not real. Fake news.
It was on the news here in Riverside county when it happened! Was briefly touched on though, it wasn't a huge story... Which is WILD.
My condolences, no one should have to live that close to Barstow.
I'm friends with Will and he never told anyone in our friend circle, as far as I know anyway.
A lot of violent crime in Barstow. It's hard to keep up with it all.
if I was arrested and had as many cases as he had dropped I’d probably think I was invincible my damn self. The courts are obviously saying ‘hey, for you, no consequences. You just go right on ahead and keep being a piece of sh*t’…
He was probably a grass
It’s disturbing how many gross, disgusting, terrible, heartless people there are in the world.
There are also alot more really good and kind people(than there is bad)out there it's just that when one watches too many crime vidios it distorts your whole view of the world where you start thinking it's the norm where it really isn't
Taking pride in being feared just because he kept on hurting those weaker than him
Him and his story remind me a lot of Ken Rex McElroy. Too bad it didn't have the same ending.
They feel powerful, they may be weak, but as long as he abuses weaker than him, he feel like king of the hill.
Just like everyone on earth.@@assasin19991999
What an awful family! And he doesn't think he's gay? Sounds like the DA is to blame, for not prosecuting cases. The DA in that county should've been investigated.
Could have been bi like Gacy was.
Holy crap. The justice system had it's head up it's own ass with this guy.
It usually does.

There are many black serial k1llers aswell. Not as known as the white ones though. The serial k1ller with the most victims is a black man. He drew almost photographic pictures of his victims, and many unsolved cases could be solved that way.
I dont remember his name but easy to find on Google. All the women were so beautiful but they had fear or hopelessness in their eyes. That m0nster probably drew them the way he remembered them when they were scared that they would make it back home from meeting him.
He had no "type" except girls and women that were homeless, s3x workers, hitchhikers, orphans, poor , runaways etc. Women he knew wouldn't be missed.
And he disposed on them in different ways so the police couldn't find a pattern until many many years later. He was black and he is not the only one. I think he was free to do it for 50+ years.
May God bless all victims and may they all rest in peace.
@@elishh8173 how many times did the law let him get away?
@@elishh8173 Hey, friend! Don't bring race into this, it's not relevant to the conversation. That goes for you too, @SlugSage.
Seeing pictures of lil kiddos, hearing about their abuse, and then hearing about the monsters they turn into, is so heart wrenching and terrifying..
As a parent who had abusive parents, im constantly keeping aware of how i am parenting and im always so scared of perpetuating the cycle.. When pictures and stories about horrible people as lil ones comes up, i cant help but see my own kids and its so scary.
Scott as a toddler in particular reminds me of my toddler. how parents can treat their children worse than animals is beyond me... I hope Scott's kids are doing as well as they can after all of this.
And my condolences to the families who lost their loved ones..
My mother was toxic and abusive. I self monitor as well and so does my brother. It's generational trauma and behavior. We have vowed the trauma stops here with us. Our relationship with our children looks so different compared to what my brother and I were used to with all of our family. Good luck to you.
@@SeashelleBytheseashore heck ya good luck to you guys too!! 😊
I'm so proud of you for breaking the cycle ❤

"i shot multiple people but it was always an accident, i swear" - we all can relate to that buddy o0
Feel bad for his son who moved back in with him, probably hoping for the best and ended up being beaten to a pulp.
It's really sad. Will has a good heart and definitely didn't deserve that. I've been friends with him for 15 years and never knew about any of this.
OMG yes. It was made clear that I was an unwanted female child. He was no longer responsible for me when I was 18. I had to stay with them for a while later in life.....HAD to get out of there....NOT a safe place. My age did not change that. As an adult I couldn't just ignore it. Go HOME, they told me.....for a safe place? Not for all of us. He was personally convinced that any kind of mistreatment short of sexual abuse was legal, moral, and his divine right. My first karate tournament win prompted him to demand that I try to prove I was "better" than him...?????? After trying to talk him out of it, he swung....and my foot contacted his chin and knocked him out. He never hit me after that. He insisted that OTHER PEOPLE were more dangerous. Not in my experience. I now understand what I was preparing for. Years of karate, judo, swordfighting....all desire left me when he passed. I knew I was safe now. My brother.....not so much. I left. He bought into it. He IDOLIZED my father. All the intimidation/violence was against me and my mother. Dad taught him they were superior. As an adult.....I'm afraid for HIM. I had a lot of therapy work to do. Him? ❤❤💔💔💔💔
The son was doing drugs with em. Can’t feel that bad. He was tryna be somewhere he could get high. Happen to be his father house
@@bizbabywait so if someone does drugs we shouldn’t feel sympathy for them lol?
@@bizbaby Will is my friend and has such a good heart. Yes, he fell victim to drug addiction but when you look at how he was raised around it, how he and Hayley almost died as children due to their mothers use, etc etc...I can see how he easily would be cursed by that same path. He still deserves empathy. He certainly has a better heart than you. Judge lest though be judged themselves....or something to that effect
The fact that so many confessions happened but proof was unavailable makes this one of the most terrifing cases. This dude was a known monster almost his whole existence, but how many confessions have we brushed off cause of the same reasons 😢?
Well done vid as always!
His family/wife knew and for some reason they never went to the police. They are partially responsible for these crimes.
You're in love with him.
Oh I love my Dire Trip on Sundays. Thank you I needed a distraction from Father’s Day today. Happy Father’s Day to all, my Dads passed so it’s hard sometimes. I still appreciate all the Dads
Finally someone bringing to light a case that no one else has. Kudos to you for putting in the much needed work. And keep it up
I'm constantly astounded by the under-covered cases you dig up and present in a very thorough, sensitive manner. Keep up the amazing work!
Damn.. this guy leaves me feeling disgusting inside just seeing all those pictures of him. What a scumbag. I’m not surprised he got away with all that given where it happened. The high desert is hell on earth. Great video:)
Barstow is definitely an armpit between LA and Vegas. Plenty of desert where plenty of the town's problems are solved.
damn, was he snitching on ppl or something maybe? I mean how could so many offenses be dismissed? Unbelievable
Had to be
I was thinking the exact same thing about him snitching.
Had to be ratting.
Lazy police work, him being a white man and Barstow UNDOUBTEDLY being filled with racist people, etc. a lot of the victims were also gay men and these police officers most likely didn’t give a shit until some of them were like “welp, I guess we might as well investigate this one” . Sucks
I know “racism” is somehow a taboo “liberal agenda” topic now but fuck all that lol Barstow is a shit hole. I know.
Why do people that look like scott take so many damn selfies?
What a POS. Thanks for bringing us this case, Dire Trip!
"We were just approaching Barstow when the drugs began to take hold". -Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
I was thinking the same thing
Sounds like an improvement on the reality.
It's always unstable people who become parents who create unstable children from unstable parents. The cycle continues to repeat for centuries in America.
Yet many people in my work can't justify even getting a new car?
These unstable people are having kids with no issues for financial security.
We work in tech, zero consumer debt, little or zero student debt, home owners, maxed out retirement, efficient savings and early 30s.
Maybe we were born in the wrong era or we have proper foresight. Who knows?
So true. I worked at a detention center for 27 years..we had generations of families...Beasons, Crockets, Popes, Husbands..some last names of career criminal FAMILIES
It's all public knowledge so I'm not breaking confidentiality with the above post naming names.
For some reason this sounds so familiar, but I’m sure this is the first video I’ve seen about this case. Thanks for sharing with us either way!
I'm trying to remember which youtuber I heard this from...too familiar sounding!
It was ages ago, and no one has covered it since, still happy to watch this one.
He had to be a CI to keep getting away with the stuff the law most definitely knew about. No other logical reason for them to keep letting him off the hook.
so true
CI? Informant?
I said the same thing. He was an asset to somebody.
@@misscyanic2484 yes
Yep
That’s so sad what he did to all those men… who even knows if any of them have been identified as being victims of murder. 🙁
What an evil monster, its like something right out of a film, crazy story. Im very surprised i've never heard of this one. Thanks, Dire Trip!🤘

"Good crank fueled walk" made me giggle a bit I can't lie
Never done it, but it did have a note of appeal. Too bad about the side effects.
I grew up in this area. It's all desert and the middle of nowhere. I'm honestly not surprised that he wasn't caught because it's the wild west out there
Love it when u get a story about something u havent already heaed of 1000 times thanks x

Not sure who is worse ?:
Him , his dad or his wife that ignored his behavior towards the kids. Guess the same could also be said about his mom since she wasn’t too great as mentioned either. Don’t think I’ve heard anything about him so nice to have a new upload I’m not familiar with especially since I’m taking a break from cleaning my room to rest and just had lunch also.

First time in a long time I’ve heard a fresh case for a serial killer! Good work, sub earned!
You find some obscure unknown cases. Thanks ❤. The pure evil is unbelievable.
"Tired of waiting for MY money".... what a disgusting way to view his grandfathers hard work.
Quickly being my favorite channel. You have a way of delivering tragic and horrifying content with great accuracy grace and dignity. Bravo and keep doing what you are doing.. The public need to know that these monsters exist in reality not just on the big screen or novels.
Coming from someone who watches true-crime videos literally multiple times a day every single day, it's very rare that I come across one that I've never heard of before. This is one of those times. You did an awesome job picking this one!! It was thoroughly entertaining!!
Happy Father’s Day to good fathers.

Another story I haven’t heard - solid editing on this one 👌 thanks for the vid!
Traveled through there a lot from 1984-1993 and lived on rte 66 in Kingman Arizona. Scary how many killers have come through on the I40
There's something about this narrator that I really like. His voice, his dry, dark sense of humor, all of it, he's really good.
Agree 💯

“Wonton disregard” a pretty good side
I love how you have new unknown content. Keep it up broda
Jesus Christ. How many times can a court system drop and/or dismiss charges on a convicted felon/repeat offender? If you continually let a violent criminal off the hook, eventually their crimes are going to escalate and you're going to be dealing with a body count. Despicably incompetent law enforcement had dozens of opportunities to lock this deranged wackjob behind bars... but they chose to keep letting him roam the streets. Pathetic. My sincere condolences to the victims' families and loved ones. Both law enforcement and the judicial system really dropped the ball on this one.
Was that a photo of him dropping a log at 22:19? Classy guy 😂
Came across your comment at 22:15. Thanks for the heads up/preparation…
He had a person who was on the inside of the justice system that was helping him every single time to evade prosecution

Of course he was.
It doesn't make sense. If he murdered at least 7 people then how is it that he hasn't been charged? Surely the justice system have some evidence that he did any of that or is it just all a lie?
Maybe he had connections..
