If he wanted the best for his family he wouldn't have dragged it out like he did and would have faced his actions. He admitted he knew right from wrong by making the 911 call and what he said, like trying to back pedal his confession. Everything he said was to benefit him and only him. Great upload thanks so much for bringing attention to this tragic case. Stay safe.

They can tell the difference. That’s why on the 911 call he mentioned how “Jeff is going to get him killed in prison.” So he had enough forethought to consider how he’d do in prison. Too bad he didn’t consider that before he brutally took his mom’s life and the impact it would have on her loved ones. He only used the creepypasta character to try and appear crazy, but they completely overlooked the fact that he was angry with his mom for restricting his access to his online gf. He just wanted to live out his sick fantasy and then pretend to have remorse. Hopefully he doesn’t reoffend. Justice for his mother was not served. What lesson was learned?

I've been heavily active in the creepypasta community for almost 11 years, and tbh this story doesn't even shock me. Only because there's been so many other people who have done what this guy did.
The little girl who stabbed her mom to death because Laughing Jack told her to.
The two girls who dragged their friend in the woods, and attempted to stab their friend to death for slenderman's approval to become one of his proxies.
The one girl who attempted to burn her house down while her family was fast asleep to attempt to become a proxy.
But it isn't Creepypasta's fault. It's these kids who have either a hard life or mental health issues but that's no excuse for what he did or what they did.
But i feel like if they got help when they needed it, they wouldn't of been in the situations they were in.

@@OctaviusMulliusI’d like to think that he did. Although he lied about Jeff, it’s pretty obvious that his mental integrity at the time was in a debilitating state to say the least. On top of that, he hung out with kids who thought murder was rad, there’s no saying what type of person his girlfriend was, and his hormones were going wild. He’s definitely still to be held responsible for what he did, but growing out of puberty, actually getting help, and not associating with edgy people can go a long, long way for personal growth.
Needless to say I still fucking hate the guy, though. He’s very apologetic, but he is not even nearly as remorseful. All his apologies are obviously centered around saving face. He tried to lie his way back into the family, and thankfully failed. I wouldn’t be surprised if he even gaslit himself about it being Jeff, all to deflect the responsibility that is his to own. It’s up to him to man up and face his demons, otherwise at this rate we might find his name in a pedo registry within 10-20 years.
Although his entire family is affected, I feel especially sorry for Donovan’s father. The love of his life, murdered ruthlessly at the hand of his own son, his so-called baby boy. And he was the one to drive aforementioned son to his freedom, torn between the parental urge to help his troubled child to the best of his abilities and the victim’s urge to beat that fucker senseless. All the guilt he must inadvertently be experiencing for dooming his wife by marrying her in the first place. It’s unimaginably awful, I hope he finds a new sense of purpose eventually.

People really need to be held accountable. In today's society, it seems accountability and consequences does not exist anymore. You see more and more of these type of crimes from Gen Z as of late. They're brain washed by social media into committing foolish acts because they see that people aren't getting in trouble for their actions. All those flash mob theft, protesting over petty things, rioting, car jacking, open drug use, and the system does nothing to stop it. You have mayors in Chicago and NYC saying they're just bored kids. People like AOC saying they're stealing to put food on the table. I as host rarely fully switch out, but rather I go co-conscious which allows the other alters to do their jobs. For example; One thing I struggle with is wet things touching my hands. One of my alters is able to stand that sensation better so he fronts and I let him wash dishes or take showers. Meanwhile I’m watching but the sensation is more like I’m watching myself though a thing screen(?) that’s the best way I would word it. For times I’m fully out (which is rare, usually only happens when I am in extreme distress) it feels like one moment I’m there, then I’m interacting with something completely different with no gap or anything in between.

There is also a disorder called OSDD-1b that's similar to DID, but there's no amnesia between the parts, so in theory he could have that. Plus, even in DID it's possible to know *something* about one's alters, even though one doesn't remember the time when that alters are up front (in control of the body). I still doubt it that Donovan in particular has DID\OSDD-1b, but the amnesia argument is certainly not enough to rule it out.

I feel bad for laughing at that phone call because it is a tragedy and i feel so bad for him mom. It's the dumbest age to do crazy stuff. Gonna regret that literally immediately but it will be too late. His mom is gone and he will forever remember his stupid ''phase'' that made him kill his own mother. He will hate himself for the rest of his life.

My only question is, did he think they were just going to arrest “the other personality inside him”, Jeff and he’d skip off scot free or was it a very stupid plan to weaponize mental illness (especially D.I.D which is already stigmatized enough) to try and plead insanity? Which now that I’m writing that out sounds like he was trying to do the later. His siblings have every right to be upset and want nothing to do with him anymore. Nothing about that seems like there’s any remorse, he’s just remorseful his first plan didn’t work. I pray for his siblings well-being and anyone that happens to be in his community whether he’s changed or not.

I have DID and I was looking for a comment like this. Thank you, for having empathy and compassion. Because my disorder is so rare it's hard to see things like this and kind of think to myself "nobody else watching sees that this is wrong", if that makes sense? It's weirdly common for people to blame crimes like this on DID despite that experts know so little about it and yet one thing we do know is that people with uh, bonus people in their brain, are actually less violent on average compared to the rest of the population. Seems like guilty criminals want an easy route to the insanity plea, and aren't thinking at all about how they know nothing about having DID so they're inevitably going to fake it very badly and very obviously. My own mom told me that it made her suicidal when I told her I had been diagnosed with it, so it's really not living life on easy mode, and we certainly don't get treated any better by cops...

When I was 15, I went through an emo phase like many other teenagers at the time. I found myself diving into the world of Creepypastas, just like so many others. However, while most of us simply enjoyed reading the stories, some took it a bit further by idolizing characters like Jeff the Killer.
Admiring the artwork and aesthetics of Jeff, with his pale, emo appearance, was one thing. But for some, it went beyond that. They tried to integrate Jeff into their lives, blurring the line between fiction and reality.
Looking back, I can now see that this behavior was a bit extreme, even for the emo subculture. But at the time, it felt like a natural part of our fascination with the darker aspects of storytelling and art. It's a phase that many of us look back on with a mix of amusement and reflection.

As someone with a dissociative disorder myself, it’s definitely not like this, and definitely not like the movies. Alters are meant to protect the body and mind, not to harm others, this is a horrible case and the kid is obviously mentally ill , but that’s no excuse.
DID, OSDD, and other disorders aren’t an excuse for any crimes.

If you don't mind me asking, what is it like having a dissociative disorder? I'm just curious, though I do understand if you don't want to answer.

@@hunter-rr8hz sorry it took so long for me to reply! I can’t exactly describe it for everyone with the disorder/s but my system is working ok, I can describe mine as a small family for comfort in different areas, it’s a coping mechanism that my brain came up with after severe trauma.
Each alter has a different role, I highly recommend reading up on the disorders and learn more about it outside of movies! All I can say is that if anyone in the system commits a crime, its not an excuse! Thanks for asking :)

@@oneweirdboi2544 Just saw your response. It's good that yours isn't, like, bad or anything, if that makes sense, but yeah, I'll do some research. And thanks for replying as well, and kindly too as I'm not sure that everyone would exactly take well to being asked about this stuff, which is understandable. :)

His poor mother didn't deserve to die like that she clearly loved her children .
