- The Tesla Truck is here. And... its... different. Elons CyberTruck has broken the internet with its unique polarizing design. The Electric Tesla CyberTruck might look futuristic and funky, but its whats under the hood that maters. Figuratively speaking of course. Cuz... under the hood is more storage space. The Telsa Truck will be one of the most capable vehicles on the road when it comes out in 2021, and 2022. (Assuming Tesla can keep to the schedule.) And I am super excited about it. I really appreciate how you mentioned that the best thing for the environment is to continue using your old vehicle as long as you can before upgrading to a new electric vehicle because it always annoys me when people keep going through new vehicles every 3 years while also talking about how fuel efficient and environmentally friendly they are
They are contributing to a second hand market though which helps out starters to also get more eco friendly vehicles.

Why is glass chosen over plastic, then? Is it because it's tougher than plastic even though it shatters?
@@OrangeC7 Glass and plastic have their own benefits and disadvantages. Glass is harder, so it's more resistant to scratches. It also handles heat and certain impacts better. Plastic on the other hand can generally take more of beating. Due to this, the front windshield of cars (and bulletproof glass, but to a greater extent) are just layers of glass and plastic laminated together. This also has the benefit of preventing glass shards from flying everywhere as it sticks to the plastic layer if it shatters.

There's a reason cars crumple. If they don't, all the force of the crash will be transferred to the only moving objects inside the cabin, i.e., the passengers. The seat belt might try to hold them back, but the insides of the body will then bear the brunt. Doesn't sound very nice.

In this case you could have a crumple zone between de exoskelton and the interiot space. It would save the passenger but whatever it hits might as wel be driving into a wall.
