You can get these plastic ski cover things to keep the skegs from scratching things up. You can also use skegs without carbides if you're always on soft snow. The carbides are for grip on ice.
I removed the carbides and replaced them with mild steel skags on my sleds bc the carbides were ripping up my garage aprons and shop floor. Unless you are running high speeds on hard pack or ice, you don't need carbides. Just be sure to check those runners more often.

IF you replace the carbide runners with mild steel they won't gouge the concrete but you need to check mild steel runners more often bc they wear much faster than carbides.
Someone _finally_ measured the the Cybertruck bed at its various sizes/heights, thank you! AFAIK no other reviewer has done this, at most they measure a single dimension at the bottom of the bed, and rarely the top.

The snowmobile sounds like a great idea when you want to be able to listen to nature around you. Maybe for search and rescue purposes it might be advantageous.
@@AdventuresonTour was thinking the same thing i used to make snow and you could make a lighter one with less range for a ski resort that would work out nicely we never rode more than 5 miles at a time. And it would be nice to not smell gas and fumes all day riding around.
doubt it has purpose for search and rescue given its limited range and maneuverability there is a reason taiga built this style of sled because they could fit enough batteries in it and the weight is fine for trail riding which is about all its suited for.

This is the video I've been waiting for!!! You're the first to actually take a tape measure to the CT bed, and that's exactly what I needed. I move various types of motorcycles around and can't do the Lightning or Rivian because the beds are too short for the rear axle to land on. Though I was surprised to hear about the front of the bed angling backwards as it comes up. For a motorcycle's front tire, that just trimmed 6" off the usable bed length.... Darn it!
Yeah, for some reason all manufacturers except Ford think EV trucks have to be funky and less functional shaped. Ford *almost got it by at least using the standard truck body but then dropped the ball by only offering the tiny bed and huge cab. Looks like the top pick may end up being the Ram diesel-electric hybrid that is supposed to be offered in all trim levels. That might be the first EV truck capable of replacing my Silverado 1500 diesel. Maybe.

And as @Turnip_ pointed out, these days most people seem to want macho minivans instead of actual trucks in the half-ton market so finding even a short bed (6.5' is a short bed, 8' is a long bed) is tough. The urban soccer moms would rather have a giant cab to haul the kiddies and a tiny bed to make it easier to park while a working man wants the opposite - smaller cab and bigger bed. But hey, the cYbUrTrOk was never intended to be used, it was intended to make a social statement and get attention. For that, it does extremely well.
The Cybertruck bed is a big box with no wheel wells to get in the way. My F-150 has a funny shaped bed, it makes it difficult to stack things like concrete blocks or firewood in it because the huge wheel wells intrude into the box. Cybertruck is shaped more ideally for a work truck compared to my current truck. I can hardly wait to accept delivery in a couple of months!@@donhappel9566

Remember that 650kg limit on the tail door isn’t just when stationary. Load increases with dynamic loading or going over bumps etc, so careful not to load it near that maximum.

This makes me love my longbed more. It's 8'2" with the tailgate up. I never understood why beds got shorter. Yeah you can use a trailer but that makes it harder, having to hook up the trailer, make wider turns, more maintenance, having room to store the trailer

Sadly the half-ton market has largely become nothing more than macho mini-vans so people would rather have a huge cab to haul the kids to soccer than a usable bed to do work. It is possible to get a real bed, but you'll probably have to order it.

Myself I do have rear seats on my short bed (6.5') but only the 'smaller' rear seats as I have never put a person in them, I just wanted to be able to recline the driver's seat to take a quick nap when on a road trip and to have quick storage for groceries or other things I don't want to put in the bed with my work equipment. I don't think you can even order a long bed with a 4-door cab in the Silverado half ton, and I believe only in the supercab (not full rear doors) for the F150.

becasue you added rear seats and with rear seats and a long bed you can't park it anywhere. 1/40 owners need a long bed.
@@TigerDude333 Assuming you are talking about @austinhernandez2716 above. He didn't say anything about having rear seats, only a long bed. Myself I do have rear seats on my short bed (6.5') but only the 'smaller' rear seats as I have never put a person in them, I just wanted to be able to recline the driver's seat to take a quick nap when on a road trip and to have quick storage for groceries or other things I don't want to put in the bed with my work equipment. I don't think you can even order a long bed with a 4-door cab in the Silverado half ton, and I believe only in the supercab (not full rear doors) for the F150.
