I took a trip to Colorado, Utah, Nevada and Wyoming in June of last year. With the six cylinder engine, I got 31 mpg on this trip. Overall, I am very pleased with it so far. Of course, it doesn't ride as smooth as the Taurus I had prior to getting the Bronco. Of course, Ford stopped production of the Taurus, bad move in my opinion.
That roof issue reminds me of the Hummer H3 that I had. The plastic trim was cracked where the roof met the A pillar the day I picked it up. They placed an order for a new one. During one of my monthly trips to the service department I was told that it was a known issue and they were on backorder. I had it for 2 years and they never got a replacement piece. Between that, the service 4WD light that constantly came on, the clunky front end, buzzy brake pump, crappy ABS, rattling skid plates, etc., I couldn't wait to give it back to GM. That was the last UAW turd I ever had.
I brought a H3 and apart from the servicing center here in middle east it was a very good offroad vehicle. So all the service center did was swap our parts over! Sometimes i miss my H3 offroad it was a very good 4x4. I did 120k kms in 3 yrs as soon as warenty ran out i sold it. I also had a gearbox break because service centet never did any worthy maintenance from new and they wanted 5k OMR to fix it. It was under warrenty so i was in a stale mate with them for almost 6months to get it fixed!
I bought a 2003 Hummer H2 less than a year old had about 35,000 miles on it. Drive it until a couple years ago with almost no issues except dash speedo went out and had to replace the servo motors and had to replace rusting out brake lines a few years ago. Got about 180,000 on him now. Best truck I ever had and I did some insane off roading with it. I always thought the H3 was for girls. A watered down version. From what I heard, with Ford and the “chip shortage” they cancelled their orders with semiconductor mfgs at the start of COVID. This put them “at the end of the line” for orders. I know this impacted the E-Mustang and I had heard it also impacted the Bronco. So, sorta Ford’s problem.

Replacing anything will require removing and reinstalling a lot of plastic that will be starting to get brittle after 3 years of underhood heat.
new strat for making cars.
the factory sealed oil fillers didnt work.
the computer programed tamper protection didnt work.
the new plan?
make them so complex nobody but the engineer can work on it
buy a twin turbo z32 300zx and this will be a walk in the park to work on. Actually a fair amount of engine bay room.
That is NOT a tight engine bay by any stretch of the imagination.
No comments on the Transfer Cases Exploding while moderately Offroading. I watched a guy explode his at the local boat ramp... was hilarious 😂
I don't get it. All the new Bimmers and Mercs and Volkswagens ect I think look horrible. But I genuinely like this and people think the opposite. Maybe it's my dumb caveman brain but I love this truck.
The under-the-hood picture makes me think maybe Ford just wants to discourage any owner DIY activity and ensure dealerships get all the repair business?
Yes. Absolutely. Just like new huge ultra expensive farm equipment by the likes of John Deere. Proprietary systems that only THEY can work on.
I think you hit the nail on the head.
Well if anyone EVER brings one of these to my shop for repairs they will be cussed out and permanently banned from the property.
I don't know a car but wouldn't this encourage people to work on their cars and make it easier. Looks like everything is out and exposed making it easier to reach and work on?
Exactly
"it sounds like a V8..." No it doesn't. It sounds like a 6 banger with a muffler
But it's got a turbo, so it can reach Warp 1, right??
Ford notoriously uses engine sounds through the speakers to mimic the real engine noise. It's not real. True story. Search for it online.
@@Gunalizer not sure about the speaker thing, but I do know back when I had my Focus ST, it had a pipe that connected from the intake into the port that went into the AC system to make the car seem louder than it actually was. But to be fair, I wouldn't be surprised if the speaker thing is something they do
The truth will set you free! 🔥
Sounds my dad when he snores
I don't want the new Bronco. I want the OLD Bronco, new.
I really hope this owner does enjoy his new car. I thank him for sharing it with us.
It's not a car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with you, Brett! and thank him for enduring a random youtuber hop in and drive it like a racecar... I felt so uncomfortable watching haha
I love the comparison videos for the new broncos vs the new Jeeps. The broncos do extremely well on the trails without modifications. The one thing many of us would appreciate is an affordable option without all the electrical nightmares that Jeep's and Ford provides it's customers.
Get an old one easy done.
Yoi know the answer, but still choose to buy American brand. They ffff You, but U like it. Because patriotism :)
Lol
Brand new FJ40
Pick up my new 2022 Toyota 4runner TRD off road premium Friday...perfection!!!
The dealership I just bought my Lariat Powerboost at had 8-10 of these all waiting for the owners that ordered them. That dealer also told me that the entire next year is already ordered. I think Ford didn't expect to sell so many, and they can't ramp up production from supply issues.
I've got 2 complaints about them. I changed oil on a 4 cylinder and the filter is behind the driver wheel
If you try to get the oil filter from underneath, the oil funnel dumps oil on you.😡
Second is the front axle is small for the big tires and probably not going to last.
Isn't the top being recalled due to the noises it makes? Also good point about releasing the Sport ahead of the actual Bronco, it's lead to too much confusion with that Sport owner being the most egregious example I've heard of
I had heard it was cosmetic issues
@@shiftymiata It’s not cosmetic. If it was strictly a cosmetic issue they wouldn’t be joking thousands of Ranger SUVs in a dirt field waiting on replacement roofs. They would ship them to the buyers and have the dealer take care of it.
Anyone who's read mag or online car articles should be aware that Bronco isn't merely a make this time: It's a brand, or family! Articles clearly stated the Bronco Sport is a crossover, with the big flagship Bronco the Wrangler competitor.
@@sho942000 It is 100% cosmetic and not structural. And they are having the dealer take care of the ones already delivered.
Next episode: "I'm buying a new Bronco, 30K over MSRP".
Got to keep that "Dumbest Automobile Channel" nostalgia.
@@kurtlamprecht93 the guy is a newbie
@@Autotechgeek nope. Hoovies been bringing a lot of old BMWs to the channel to keep that "nostalgia" of the "Dumbest Automobile Channel".
@@kurtlamprecht93 nostalgia means affection for the past. Hoovies keep saying he's the "Dumbest Automobile Channel", while buying "hoopties", or poor car choices that need too much repairs. Paying way more money for the Bronco, means he is doing a questionable move, as others he does on the channel, as a form to provide content.
@@RogerM88 You're right Roger. Overpaying for a Bronco is literally THE DUMBEST thing anyone can do....
Lol Hoovie is dumb and can't be trusted
@@Autotechgeek similar happening with the C8...with many paying way over MSRP, even for second hand cars. Once the Z06 arrives to the market, don't be surprise, there will be a huge flood of C8s on the market.
I love how the grandma reference blows right over Tyler's head.
It blew over mine too, where was that part in the video? Many Thanks.

he should have said Aunt Edna!
@@robdempley1633
Thank you.
@@robdempley1633
OH! Is that a reference to the walley world where the grandma passed away and they tied her to the roof? I remember that. I am sure he watched it too because his Plymouth Voyager woody video made a reference to the winter film of that!
That’s not a Bronco. That’s a family car, for insecure ppl who don’t want a family car because they think it makes them look not cool.
If the demand for the Edsel was like that of the Bronco, it wouldn't have flopped. Comparison fail.
Couldn't agree more ... altogether different situations... the Edsel was a good product but an ugly product and just didn't sell ... I'm willing to say the Bronco will out sell the entire Edsel lineup
The engine sound you liked is actually played over the stereo...thank ford engineering for that. It's not the engine but a recording....😞
@WinGate Mose I chose Borla. Let's everyone else enjoy my V8 note. 😜
Sadly, most manufacturers use that parlor trick.
Not having a engine cover is actually a + in my book.
I agree, I did a motor and transmission swap in an 09 mercury milan, what mess to work on, that's why they cover it up. They want to make the car's so hard to work on, that you take it to them, or get you to trade it in for a loss, to bleed you of all your money. Fortunately, some of us are smart enough to figure a way past how they crammed the dang thing in there lol.
Hoovie can't change a spare tire. He's not a car guy, he is a youtube guy.
More wires less engine 😬
@@died4us590 Well, nothing to fear about a cover blocking you here, those hoses, lines, electrics will make it far harder to swap.
It looks gorgeous. Beautiful indeed. 😍 I just wish the doorbell wasn't there. I've always hated that sound. I'd love to own it.
the edsal wasnt a failure mechanicly. it was poorly timed as far as the economy and sold poorly. in fact, dodge had more problems with the v-10 than ford did with the edsal.
To be fair as well the styling on the Edsel was apparently unpopular with most of the consumer base
@@sockshandle I have heard that, but it seems odd to me when I look at some of the old chryslers and cadillacs.
on a purely mechanical, technical basis, the Edsel had some remarkably innovative features
yes, the design was ridiculed from the get-go -- but even more significant, the timing of when it got to market was unfortunate
Ford took year to get the Edsel into production & the car market changed rapidly during the mid-to-late 1950s --- economy cars had just begun to take off & the Edsel was to be a mid-scale brand, so missed the burgeoning trend, also had quality control issues
the recession certainly didn't help, either
perfect storm of factors led its demise
I got a 59 edsel it's basically a 59 ford with a different body.
@@jasonbrown7258 they werent bad cars. my stepdad has one. Reality is often disappointing
This was uploaded the day mine rolled off the assembly plant... Took delivery of it October 6th... LOVE IT!!! first day reservation and early as I could with actual order... Yes, it was a delivery mess... but at least I am not waiting on a cyber truck... If supply chains were not screwed up it may have gone smoother, look at every dealer lot for every company... empty...
I’ve got the answer. Sell the Bronco , make $30k, buy a 4Runner and lots of beer. It will last you 3X as long and your Friends will love you.
Ford: I can't hear you over all this money!
Lololol
"What could I replace this with for 30 grand?"
A decent Original Bronco or K5 Blazer with leftover money to make it cherry.
That comment blew my mind hahaha
Right, he could have had both in the end.
Not everyone has 30k in cash
At least with an original Bronco or K5 Blazer or Jimmy, it would be a lot tougher, more reliable and much simpler to repair while on the trail. This new Bronco sucks.
Have you seen the cost of a K5 or bronco? Idk if you can buy one and modify it with 30k
I’ve gotten into arguments with people that the Bronco Sport isn’t the same as the Bronco.
Yeah whoever thought that naming convention was a good idea was a moron.
They don’t even look the same.
