      So that corner bit on the bumper is more evidence that the rear bumper is a bad design. The rear bumper needs redesigning cuz Ford didn't learn the lesson that Jeep had to learn, that is to put the license plate in a different spot cuz it will get caught and bust off in addition to the extra cost involved when replacing the corner. So if you own a Bronco just start saving your money for a aftermarket or custom bumper.

    For a first year vehicle with all new architecture and mostly new technology, I'm impressed with its relative lack of faults and failures. The tech and performance that you and others have demonstrated are also impressive. Too bad the pricing jacked out of all sense of reality by global events and economics make it unobtainium for many/most who might otherwise buy it.

    Great charity to give some support an recognition too. In 1990 I had just turned 6 years old, and needed to have heart surgery. I don't know all the specifics as I was a child at the time. But My family and I stayed at the Ronald McDonald house in Orange County California, in the days leading up to my surgery and hospital stay. It helped take a lot of stress out of a very difficult situation. It was also a nice change to converse with other children my age, who were also going through difficult medical problems, many far worse than my own. I can't speak enough good things about the staff and people I interfaced leading up to my surgery at that location.

Needless to say I found a new strategy they're using...buy out all the new allotments of Broncos and Mavericks so that they can sell them as used at a higher market price. I told the manager to eat shit when he tried talking down to me last weekend saying that "maybe I shouldn't be looking at a vehicle I can't afford". I can afford a Bronco and that's what I wanted. I had a paid off 2014 F150 FX4 with book of a little over 11,000, about 6K to put down and a really long term job. Now, I have no interest in buying new and fully intend just to wait for a year or two for the market to cool so I can just buy from a private seller and pay in cash.

    zero issues with my Badlands with Sasquatch Lux, 2.7 and soft top, 3300+ miles so far including 8+ hour road trip with only stopping for gas. Comfortable, tracks like on rails, fun off road, I could not be happier. Also in Cyber Orange, only color I liked. Love the soft top, I flip it back just going 5 min to the store, never would do that with panels. Personally don't care one bit about 'wavy' windows but love the easy flip up in the rear, just ordered some gas struts 3rd party that will make that even easier. I got mine Oct 8 and could not be happier, perfect vehicle for me and my purpose, zero complaints. Currently adding the non-branded Gatorback mudflaps as I can't stand the rooster tail of dirt and want to keep the paint somewhat ok for a while. I'm amazed at how powerful the engine is with such a heavy vehicle. Gas mileage hoovers around 15 for me, but most of my daily driving is 3 miles roundtrip, so barely enough to get warm. On the long road trip I was at 17.3.
    As for price, my dealer gave me xprice but even without I'd be happy and yes, it's quite funny to think that the moment I drove it off the lot it was worth 10-20k more, doubt that'll ever happen to me again :-)
    Looking forward to more Bronco content! Mine will largely remain stock, love it as is, no need for lift or larger tires here. Plus I hate side steps and if I go any higher I'd need them for the family, not happening, LOL

    It's cool and I like it, but I can't imagine paying that much money and then bouncing it off trees and rocks. I paid $1500 for my stock 91 Jeep XJ, and put another $3000 into it for a lift kit and tires. It'll go through anything, and I don't care about bouncing it off trees and rocks. I can have fun with it. I'd be too scared to have the same fun with a new Bronco.

      Right!! There's something about buying a cheap 4WD vehicle that you can just mash. if you scratch it, who cares. If something needs fixing, it will be cheap enough to do. I'm right there with you. I would never take a $70k+ vehicle out off-roading, even if i was making millions. Too expensive and nice looking to beat on. Plus, if i really wanted to have fun off-roading, I'm buying a top spec'd RZR or CanAM. Way better off-roaders than this Bronco will ever be...

    I’d like to see you do a Ford comparison; Expedition, Explorer, Bronco Sport, F150, and the Bronco. Daily driving and country roads type conditions, save the rock crawling with $55k to $85k vehicles. Ps. Also, currently automotive journalist are beating the electric vehicle manufacturer and government push to death, but never mention the cost per mile to drive these costly, heavy, maintenance nightmares. Electricity is not free. You guys are doing a great job! Glad you bought the ranch!!

      You do realize that manufacturers are moving towards electric because that’s what the market is pushing them to do. There is no “government” agency telling them they have to go electric. Electric vehicles will have far less maintenance because there are far less parts and systems, which is part of the reason why auto makers will benefit from the shift to electric. And unlike gas/diesel, both of which are single use energy sources, electricity can be produced using sustainable and never ending sources, including wind, solar, hydro and even nuclear. Yes, more work is needed on developing the infrastructure, but that will happen quickly once the hundreds of billions of dollars of tax payments paid annually stop going to the oil companies (not for oil, but just as gov’t subsidies).

      @@JMacGyver1 there are other ways of powering your vehicle other than electric so just to focus on electric only it's ridiculous. I'll stick with gas or diesel power vehicles because unlike those to charge your electric takes a lot longer than going to the gas or diesel pump. And they can't be a road trip vehicle because of the batteries and of only a certain distance you have. And also electric trucks won't be able to tow a trailer with out losing a lot of battery life. You will most definitely need to charge after only a few miles until you need to charge electric vehicles not for me.

    • @JMacGyver1
      @JMacGyver1 2 роки тому +2

      @@texandy89 Just like the original gas powered cars and trucks couldn’t drive far or tow, advancements in electric will happen, and are already happening. There is already a battery technology that doubles the energy density per pound, and you’re going to start to see powered trailers to further extend tow capabilities. As far as other forms of energy for powering vehicles, there just isn’t much else out there as far as being sustainable, renewable, cost efficient. I drive a diesel now, love the fact that I can get 725 miles per tank, but the future is electric whether you want it to be or not. Most automakers already have cut-off dates for production of internal combustion vehicles, so the writing is on the wall.

    I have had a similar fan issue on my Ford Fusion. After using max defrost, the fan speed won’t reduce with manual controls. Then I go to the touch screen control, turn off HVAC, and all functions work normally.

    I bet I would love owning a Bronco, but would not pay any serious amount over MSRP. Maybe in a couple years the real prices will come back to earth. The 2.3 liter with 7 speed manual would be my ideal.

    I have that same issue with the A/C, it goes full blast with no reason, however, I discovered if you hit the recirculating bottom it will go to normal. That problem comes when you are below 60 degrees outside.

      I've not had an AC issue yet, however my sync system is a bit buggy. The time is frequently reset to 00:00 for no reason, and then seems to "remember" the correct time after maybe a few drives or an hour in the car. Android auto doesn't work at all so had to switch to iPhone, and my USB C port is flat out broken 😂 beyond that, everything else is great!
