Great color, the color matched to looks sick. For a stock vehicle, Ford hit a homerun with the new full sized Bronco. Drives great, very capable, lots of luxury, great tech and it looks awesome. I'm sure Jeep will respond, soon, competition is great for the industry.
The frameless doors are what used to be pretty much standard equipment on cars back in the 70’s and for years afterwards, known as “hard tops”. Personally I love it and was sad to see them go away in favor of frames around windows. I am glad to see Ford bringing them back.
Coming from the auto industry frameless door went away for a couple of reasons. One they are notorious for wind noise (yes I know that in a Jeep or Bronco many are not worried about wind noise). They tend to leak as seals relax over time. Last but not least there were issues when the window was left in the half down position the window is unsupported and could be broken easily.

And my knees practically scrape the steering wheel and dashboard whenever I get in and out. And my butt and shoulders (which are rather large even when I was at 180 lbs in the marine corps) feel squished. Plus, the dashboard cuts off part of my view of the gauges. I feel like the wrangler's seats need to be 1.5-3" lower, that they need to recline slightly instead of maintain that horrible military posture feel, that the interior needs to be 6-9" wider, and some things like that hard plastic holding the seat belt latches needs to be molded outward instead of straight up against the seat to keep it from digging in. Nice to see an honest review from two big Jeep UA-camrs! Great review! Oh, and I checked on a mirror assembly for the badlands with high package..... $1600 CDN
Couple things you get wrong is that the trail control is like cruise control that can be set in 1/2 mph increments; the one pedal drive mode is different in that you drive using only the gas pedal; hit the gas and it goes, let off the gas and it breaks. It's two features using the same button.
The JL transfer case is not electronically controlled. The lever is actually attached to an arm on the transfer case to switch it into 4WD high and Low. I for one hope.ot always stays thay way. A handle is always way better and more reliable than an electronically actuated 4x4 system.
My mom bought a 2020 keep wrangler Sahara unlimited new in 2020 but when the bronco was announced we checked one out and less than a week ago she took delivery of her 2022 bronco outer banks.
My biggest concern with these would be the fail 4wd vacuum system ford uses. I’ve gone through 3 IWE’s that all broke without even using 4wd. Apparent the hoses get junk in them and it causes the IWE’s to engage/disengage and break. The metal on metal grinding is horrific and Ford hasn’t done anything about it other than to replace to part that gets broken, not fix what’s causing it. And that’s only if you’re under warranty. I’ll never buy another ford with that system again
That issue generally begins with a bad check valve. Which frustratingly is a replace when broken fix. There is also the, forgive me I forget it’s actual name, the vacuum “control” box thingy, that in many iterations was lacking a rain cover and allowed even a little water into the system causing vacuum engagement. They have changed that part to have a rain hood. But I completely agree, I prefer either a mechanical engagement or electrical, far less failure rate
That middle button on the dial is for one pedal and trail cruise control. One pedal is basically left foot breaking for you out on the rocks so you only worry about the gas pedal and when you take your foot off the gas it brakes for you.
The middle button is called one pedal drive. Its offroad cruise control. you can set it to as little as 1 mph. also, anytime you are not pressing the gas, the vehicle will apply brake so newer drivers dont have to be as proficient performing 2 pedal maneuvers . Hill start assist is automatic and there is no button you need to press to enable like the Jeeps.
Thanks for the honest opinions --- seems like you like it overall. My wife has a fully loaded Badlands Sport and I love it so much I had to order my own Bronco (Big Bend).
you mean she doesn't have a bronco at all then. if you know anything about the vehicles, you'll know they're just capitalizing on the name selling a normal lame compact grocery getter no different than anything else. it's a FAKE bronco. props if you get a real one but there is ZERO comparison and ZERO relationship between the BRONCO and the "bronco sport" which should be called something else. they share nothing in common period.
@@healthyamerican its literally based off the OG bronco from the 70's and ford also produced jeeps for the war at the same time as jeep did. Jeep just decided to make one for civilians but the bronco has its roots as well. you wanna seea copy cat, look up the Mahindra Thar lol
The #1 Lesson Jeep needs to learn is the daily driving comfort that IFS brings... 95% of folks use their vehicles as daily drivers, the jagged jarring jerking ride in a jeep is awful.
Finally Jeep guys giving an honest opinion. I love my Bronco, I have a first edition. The best thing to happen to Jeep is the Bronco, I tell my Jeep friends the the Bronco brings new ideas and competition is a good thing, its good for both Bronco and Jeep to see the future.
FYI the handles are not for getting in. They’re for holding on and not getting jarred around when off-roading. Also you CAN add aftermarket handles to the roll-bar.
I wish ford would build an affordable budget truck for home improvement people that is well thought out. Most people don’t want all these luxuries but a good durable reliable truck.

Thats why People buy a Truck is for Work and Not really to Sport around. Americans need an Good, Reliable, Affordable work truck that is easy and inexpensive to repair also.
I'm with you guys on the gear selector, the reason they have it instead of an electronic one is because they offer a manual transmission (so they have a hole in the transmission tunnel there anyway). At least that is my understanding of why they didn't go with the dial they put everywhere else (see Bronco Sport for example).
Hey Casey if you remember when Lite Brite was driving back when the roof was raising up there were 80 mph winds closing a interstate I have ordered 2022 Bronco with soft top
Thank you for another great video. I have the same Bronco, Badlands, Sasquatch, Lux package, and it's nice to see an honest review by Jeep owners. You guys don't bash any other Brands, there is way too much of that going on. When looking for a winch for your Badlands Bronco there are two things to consider; that is the grill camera and the Adaptive Cruise Control Radar. Most of the bumpers out there will require you to re-position the grill camera and some even require the Radar to be re-positioned because they cover up the open area in the middle of your bumper you have now. Rough Country doesn't make the behind skid plate winch for the Badlands Bronco at this time due to the radiator louvers on the Badlands, they may in the future. I purchased the 4WP Bumper and Winch Mount and only had to re-position the front view Camera to under the top of the bull bar. It works fine.
I'm sure y'all have figured it out by now - but that rectangle in the front of the bumper is the radar for the adaptive cruise control -= that's why the license plate was installed so high - also going to add to the difficulty of the winch solution. Great Great video as always. Both you guys are very enjoyable to watch!
Ford does offer a winch set up for the modular bumper. It's a Warn system. The issue will be with the adaptive cruise radar located in the bumper. That will need to be relocated otherwise you'll get many a warning messages with a winch in front of it.
Jeep is a jeep. Bronco is a bronco. Each will have its place and specific following. I'm a jeep die hard, but technology changes and it becomes a game of chess. I have a saying i use often. "today's options are tomorrow's standard features." I do like the bronco and also appreciate some of the features you find good as well. At the end of the day, we'll all be in the trails.
Good video 👍. I'm not a jeep fan by any means but when any manufacturer pushes forward with innovations you should be excited as a jeep owner. You can thank Ford and the Bronco for stepping up the competition, Jeep should and will respond with some also well thought out designs of there own.
The Rough Country winch mount is only officially for the 2.3L, not the 2.7L. Also you have to be careful in regards to the radar cruise control. I am still waiting for the right bumper that works for the 2.7L, lower winch and relocates the radar, parking sensors and the camera (if it is blocked). Haven't found the right one, yet.
Fairly dissapointing that Ford didn't design the middle roof panels as two separates as well. Allowing you to store them in the trunk too. I know that there might be a spacing issue, but it would be great to have all the doors and roof panels off and secured for a road trip with your entire family, but with the option of tossing them all back on should it start to rain or other bad weather.
frameless windows are cool until you are pushing you window shut each time you roll the windows up. Show me one ford mustang convertible where the windows don't stick partially open. I'll take frames around my windows all day.
Thank you Casey for your honest review on the Ford Bronco. I see you are from BC! That is awesome to see a fellow Canadian out there producing quality videos to help educate the people out there. Keep up the great work, and enjoy your Bronco in Gods country!
Great video guys. Picked my Badlands Sasquatch a couple weeks ago and looking forward to getting it muddy. Let me know if you’re down in the lower mainland and we can connect on the trails. Cheers
I Took a badlands on a long road trip there second week I owned it, it was pretty comfy and the thing basically drives itself on the highway, gas milage is not bad, but if you hit bad crosswinds you’ll see the gas mileage go down and you’ll definitely hear it in a soft top lol. That sound system helps though. Shits cash money.
After originally wanting a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon with the turbodiesel, it priced itself out of my consideration, plus there's that solid axle "Death Wobble" thing. So, I'm going to be ordering a 2dr V6 Badlands Sasquatch. HOWEVER, I can't see me ever taking the doors off, and I MIGHT only occasionally take off the front (only) roof panels. Also, I live where the windows freezing and NOT being able to roll down when you try and open or shut the doors may be a SERIOUS issue. SO, if GM/Chevy and/or Toyota come out with something comparable (F/R lockers, IRS, etc.) with a fixed hardtop and electric moonroof, especially if it can be had with a reasonably powerful turbodiesel (who knows how much more "Brandon" will raise gas prices...), then they might get my money. Keep up the good work guys, and while I've watched Shawn's channel for years now, I'm going to be watching it a lot more now that he has a Bronco. #FJB
The new Bronco seems nice, especially the Badlands version. I was a bit apprehensive of Ford re-using the Bronco nameplate as I used to have a 1979 Ford Bronco with a 351 V8 that got 10 mpg on a good day. It was a beast. But I am tempering my apprehension having watched this review.
Great showcase. Marie and I agree 100% about the Jeep seats to the Bronco Seats. We would love a grab handle on piller to get in and 360 camera is what we made sure was on our second Bronco. Bronco Donuts are so easy and make for such tight circles almost like spinning a ATV on one spot. My back doors frooze shut due to road slush shooting onto that back lip. Love the Soft top despit -12F in my area.
Seen a lot of reviews on the bronco and I feel you did it in a fairly middle ground! Now if I would stop hearing about steering braking and shafts breaking on trails that’s not fun
You’re referring to tie rods snapping while on 6 rated trails or higher. And that only happens when you put oversized tires/lift. There’s aftermarket tie rods you can install but then you’re moving the weakest point to the axel.
when you're in drive, the shifter doesn't get in the way at all. I disagree with dial shifter, but i do wish it had a column shifter instead. i came from a column shifter in my excop taurus and I miss it lol. Zone lighting is only available in park unfortunately. The tire camera view is only available in specific GOAT modes. The thing to keep in mind with the whole winch aspect is to remember the jeep has been around for a while, Bronco is new again and it's gonna take a bit for manufacturers to get parts made. I'm in Ontario. I asked that my front plate not be installed lol. I'm driving a Black 2 door Badlands non-sasquatch.
I have not had the pleasure of driving a Bronco but from everything I’ve read and watched, the Bronco does have some great features the Jeep doesnt and is a very capable vehicle. Give them time to work out all the bugs and for aftermarket to get items made for them and they will be pretty good. I guess I’ll stick with my Jeep.
My Lincoln MKC doesn’t have a gear shifter on the counsel, it’s push button on the dash. That would work on the bronco and free up The Who center counsel. Can’t wait for my Black Diamond Bronco to be built. Could really use it now in this NE Ohio snow…
To be fair to both bronco and the JL transmission selector. Packaging engineers needed to put it there to package protect for multiple transmissions via manual and auto. Additionally cost as well between a manual center console vs a column shifter, etc.
One question, can you put a winch on the Bronco’s OEM bumper? If si, will it obstruct the front camera? Thanks! I asked my question before the end of the video! We all benefit from competition! I own a 2019 JLUR and love it. To each it’s own! Fun off road is what counts!
Check the front lower control arm area shock is attached with two bolt and lock nuts so during the off-roading if lock or something hit the bolt I think it will be bad.
I had a 2003 Forester years back and it had frameless front door windows like the Bronco. I noticed a lot wind whistle noise on the highway in the Forester especially in cross winds as it aged. Hopefully this is not true of the Bronco as it was annoying.

Couple things you get wrong is that the trail control is like cruise control that can be set in 1/2 mph increments; the one pedal drive mode is different in that you drive using only the gas pedal; hit the gas and it goes, let off the gas and it breaks. It's two features using the same button.
I haven’t had a car note in over decade. Willing to make an exception for a Bronco.
Shoot good to know. Def thinking about one. Hard transition, tho, lol.
thx!
And she loves, I already know
I don't like smaller SUVS or trucks but I'm addicted watching videos of this one
Just got my delivery date for my bronco.. February 20. Can’t wait as it was ordered last April.
If Jeep are smart they will get some ideas from the Bronco (especially about cameras) and the next Jeep models will be amazing.
Exactly why competition is good 👍
I hope it spurs them
if ford was original then they wouldnt copy the jeep and then call it a bronco. how lame to be a copycat imitator vehicle
So cool how you guys arranged for the snow! Makes everything more picturesque! Good job! Love the Bronco, btw.
I dont get whyd the drive would need handles then.
I’m sure it’s been said, but you can’t put handles on the side bars because of the side curtain airbags.
There is a winch kit that goes under the bumper. The modular bumper allows for hidden winch check your after market accessories
I wish ford would build an affordable budget truck for home improvement people that is well thought out. Most people don’t want all these luxuries but a good durable reliable truck.
It's called the Ford maverick
@@tamurr02 I mean something like a truck with a flatbed and side tool boxes and a lumber rack. Plain and simple truck. Built for Work.
It also has the feature where if you’re in manual mode you can smack the shifter into neutral. (Great if you start tipping backwards on a climb)
Hey Casey if you remember when Lite Brite was driving back when the roof was raising up there were 80 mph winds closing a interstate I have ordered 2022 Bronco with soft top
Congrats on the new rig! Watch out for 80mph cross winds.
Better improvement would be a mechanical lever. No drama with that and it actually feels nice to use. Also a stick in the 2.7.
I turn the headrest in my van around 180 degrees. Still get the whiplash protection but very comfortable.
100%
Good video 👍. I'm not a jeep fan by any means but when any manufacturer pushes forward with innovations you should be excited as a jeep owner. You can thank Ford and the Bronco for stepping up the competition, Jeep should and will respond with some also well thought out designs of there own.
Jeep needs to step it up
The Rough Country winch mount is only officially for the 2.3L, not the 2.7L. Also you have to be careful in regards to the radar cruise control. I am still waiting for the right bumper that works for the 2.7L, lower winch and relocates the radar, parking sensors and the camera (if it is blocked). Haven't found the right one, yet.
I had no idea the hard top was removable l! Great video and fantastic details guys!
if you get a soft top you can easily buy one of their hard tops and switch back and forth. that’s what i did with mine. not a big expense
Bestop has a nicer looking and I bet more functional soft top for Bronco.
Fairly dissapointing that Ford didn't design the middle roof panels as two separates as well. Allowing you to store them in the trunk too. I know that there might be a spacing issue, but it would be great to have all the doors and roof panels off and secured for a road trip with your entire family, but with the option of tossing them all back on should it start to rain or other bad weather.
best Bronco review on youtube right now. Very well done Casey!
Thanks man 🤜🤛 we will have to connect up and chug some sparkling water next time im over
frameless windows are cool until you are pushing you window shut each time you roll the windows up. Show me one ford mustang convertible where the windows don't stick partially open. I'll take frames around my windows all day.
The base version of the bronco is surprisingly nice. It even get adaptive cruise control and 360 cam
you can only get adaptive cruise control in the lux package. which you have to step up to at least the outer banks to get
1 pedal drive is throttle only drive! It’s so cool! You let go of the gas and the breaks are applied automatically.
paracord handles for those bolts pointed out are all over the place today for anyone watching the comparison. They are super cheap too!
For the winch - take a look at JCR Offroad's new winch mount designed specifically for this bumper. May solve most of your issues.
Im so glad you mentioned the head seating. I have sat in a jeep wrangler and that's one thing that made me shy away.
Thank you Casey for your honest review on the Ford Bronco. I see you are from BC! That is awesome to see a fellow Canadian out there producing quality videos to help educate the people out there. Keep up the great work, and enjoy your Bronco in Gods country!
Thanks!!
My same thoughts.
Great video guys. Picked my Badlands Sasquatch a couple weeks ago and looking forward to getting it muddy. Let me know if you’re down in the lower mainland and we can connect on the trails. Cheers
Congrats!
I'm not much an off road guy, but this vehicle looks really cool.
There are strap handles that mount on top of the roll cage and hang down. You have to take the front panels off to mount them.
Recommend hothead headliners for jeep - get the deadening strips- amazingly quiet for a jeep
@@torrancedesaulniers7471 If you’re blowing teeth while double locked, it has nothing to do with the truck
when you're in drive, the shifter doesn't get in the way at all.
You know what would be nice about these broncos? If lots actually had some available to freaking purchase
Seriously!!
Nice!! Gotta love that 12" screen! Thanks for the really good review! From a Jeep guy!
We just reviewed a new Bronco as well, so your review came up on my feed. Nice video, thanks.
To be fair to both bronco and the JL transmission selector. Packaging engineers needed to put it there to package protect for multiple transmissions via manual and auto. Additionally cost as well between a manual center console vs a column shifter, etc.
How are the tie rods holding up?
Made it the first 24hrs. Im not sure how many more though lol
I believe 1 pedal drive is it applies the break when you take your foot off the gas
You need to see the video on light bright on what the stock Bronco can do. Very surprised on how well it does
Great video! Still not a fan of the Bronco, though.
Its probably be said before but the gear selector is most likely that way because of the manual transmission option
im Arabic guy dude your so funny and i liked your video about the Bronco god bless you thumps up
That fender flare doesn’t look that bad in person. They added for the very reason people like to make modifications.
One question, can you put a winch on the Bronco’s OEM bumper? If si, will it obstruct the front camera? Thanks! I asked my question before the end of the video! We all benefit from competition! I own a 2019 JLUR and love it. To each it’s own! Fun off road is what counts!
Ford has some sort of mount and yes it blocks the camera. 🤷♂️
Ford has a factor mount but only for the 2.3 (wont fit 2.7). Plenty of aftermarkets coming out though.
On the roof removal, I believe you have to take off the driver side first, then the passenger side
I think the handle on the driver side is to hold yourself in place when rock crawling, if it was on top it’ll be difficult to steer and hold on to.
The one pedal drive starts to apply the breaks when you let off the gas
Check the front lower control arm area shock is attached with two bolt and lock nuts so during the off-roading if lock or something hit the bolt I think it will be bad.
I had a 2003 Forester years back and it had frameless front door windows like the Bronco. I noticed a lot wind whistle noise on the highway in the Forester especially in cross winds as it aged. Hopefully this is not true of the Bronco as it was annoying.
There are a TON of cars with frameless windows now. It’s not an issue.my 14 mustang GT is fine
Did you keep the seals and glass clean? And keep the rubber maintained?
@@DaddyStarbuck Good tip. The rubber appeared soft but you are right, I probably could have been more proactive in maintaining it and making sure the glass was clearn. Never had to do that on previous vehicles which had framed windows.
Easy to break into also
Its like a brand new fighter getting in the ring with their childhood hero and absolutely demolishing them.
"How did u beat him?"
"I've been watching him all my life, so I knew exactly what he does wrong."
And he’s not in his prime now anyone can beat him with a little training.
rubber /vynil flooring should be A LOT available on SUVs, period. i ordered my 2012 tacoma with what they called "heavy duty flooring" without knowing what it was and when I picked it up it had vinyl flooring..at first I was "wtf?" and seconds later I was "oh hell yes! this is so much better !" I was bummed when I saw the 4runner didn't have that option,
