I just finished rebuilding my own transmission in my garage. With the help of UA-cam it wasn't so bad. To me two weeks working on it in the evening and the weekends. Got a few thousand miles on it and it's shifting great. People make transmissions seem like magical places that you have to have magical skills to work with. It's just nuts, bolts, bands, clutches, and a few other things. They wanted 4 grand to rebuild it at a shop and my car is only worth 4 grand so I had nothing to lose except my time. My wife told me I could do it and she was right. I had to buy an engine lift, a transmission rebuild kit, and a few extra parts that didn't come in the kit.

Funny enough I tried starting a channel up not too long ago and I was more or less in a position like this and or John Ross (WatchJRGo) and I felt like it took away too much of my personal life to continue. I get that content creators can make thousands or hundreds of thousands a year but unless you're willing to dedicate your entire life to it...it's a bit too much and still be able to spend time with family and friends.

Following behind the torn up roads made by tracked vehicles really tore up the transfer cases. Several times it gave out in a mud pit and I had to be towed out. Of course, we were really hard on the vehicles during training. I was always cracking hub seals as well.
