    Updating my UA-cam Channel with my color grading reel based on my own cinematography/footage (with the exception of 1 shot).
    Which one is your favorite grade?
    Bmpcc 4k Vs Komodo, which colors do you like better?
    In 2021, I would also love to color footage that hasn't been shot by myself. I put together this reel to reach out to DPs or directors that are looking for a colorist.

    Your grading is some of the best on UA-cam. Crazy how you made all these cameras look almost identical in image quality / color. well done!

    Huge props on developing the right fundamentals that no one wants to focus on. Subtle but intentional composition, punchy but restrained grading. Facility with working with actors and lighting them in meaningful ways. Might not be the flashiest content you can find on UA-cam but just the right skills for delivering a cinematic product. You should put together something for festival consideration! Excited to see where this channels goes in 2021.

    • @nightmusic1974
      @nightmusic1974 3 роки тому

      That seems very subjective, but I personnaly prefer the Komodo colors by far. Not huge fan of how Bmpcc 4K deals with yellows and reds (it's particularly noticeable on skin tones which don't look very natural to me), even though color rendering at low light is much more acceptable in term of balance.
      BUT Bmpcc 4K seems to handle low light much better than Red Komodo, and maybe that's why they can easily get complimentary at the end of the day...Would be curious to get Alessandro's opinion about that point overall.

    • @AxiA
      @AxiA  3 роки тому +1

      @@nightmusic1974 I still don’t know the Komodo that well. But to me it superior in every area. But that’s expected, huge price difference. But for some reason i can grade the BM much better and easier. I still think that for the price The pocket 4K it’s insane what it offers.

    • @nightmusic1974
      @nightmusic1974 3 роки тому

      AxiA Yes i remember in some recent discussions that you did had some difficulties colorgrading R3D footage, even after following Red procedures you said you couldnt push the Red colors as much as you could do it with Braw.Are you still stuck with it the same way as before?

    • @AxiA
      @AxiA  3 роки тому

      @@nightmusic1974 it’s getting better. I made a few tweaks from what Red recommends. I still don’t color it as easily and smoothly as the Bmpcc4k but I’m closing the gap

    • @nightmusic1974
      @nightmusic1974 3 роки тому +1

      AxiA That’s great news! And also very reassuring for people like me, waiting to jump into Red ecosystem soon.
      Anyway, to me your recent work on Unplanned Parenthood movie with both cameras give very similar results, which probably shows that you got much enough skills now to fully grade the R3D stuff as it should, and take it to next level...Great!

    • @AxiA
      @AxiA  3 роки тому +1

      I did make a review it's on my channel. short answer is : YES , it's worth buying if you're a professional that can justify the expense. If you're just starting out or if the Komodo is a serious financial stretch for your own pockets I would say buy another camera like the Pocket cameras from black magic that have a great image at an insane price point. Komodo Is great but y if you're starting out or you're not a pro your better off investing that extra money in lights , lenses or anything else
