Hello J&B... man I've been avoiding this video since I started getting interested in searching coins for errors and simply because of its length. Today I came across a 2015 p dime and it has errors on both sides like I've never seen before so I decided to bite the bullet and watch. I just wanted to say that I'm so glad you guys don't do all of your videos like this one anymore where you didn't have volume while on the microscope. The difference is night and day without a doubt. I'm sure it made a world of difference for you guys as well. Thanks again.
I think that he's doing a great job explaining how the error coins are and what to look for. mr jb coins helped me alot on how to identify errors with my coin hunting
The scratch running through the B E & R in Liberty doesn't affect the condition quality on the control coin you showed us, or did you miss it? Lol I'm brand new to this and don't know
What type of microscope & magnify glass you use for coins? I was thinking getting that giant magnify glass with lights they use for cosmetic stores to show pores on the skin, what do you think?
I know he mentioned using a microscope but you really have to have your eye trained. I did find a nice 3 powered 3led lights that works great when you need to confirm a mint error. I have gone through coins I tossed in a box for many years and while it's tedious you need to really have an eye for it. I was a Radiology Tech and also was a Corpsman in Vn. I have a 98% accuracy on calling bullet calibers. Detail on such small scale had my eye queued up plus I collected coins since a boy. I love unusual coinage mostly American but was given a Penny from 1700's by my Uncle in Italy when I lived with our relatives there. I also lucked out to get 2 Gold Pesos from the Philippines which is rare as it was during Spanish Colonization. When WWII broke out one of the first things the enemy does is destroy the countries currency. One to break morale and show they now were in charge. As far as a microscope stereo scopes are used so that counterfeit coins can be compared against the real strike. I wouldn't go that far. The small pocket one I like can be found at www.shopfanci.com or on Amazon or ebay under Jewlers magnifiers. It goes by the name Fancii. Power levels start at 30x, 60x and for micro 90x. They are a new company but this is small, fits in your pocket if you go to a coin show. The owner is John and I helped with some design work. Tell him Ralph Damato Jr recommended him for you. Just a word of advise. It is tedious work so you need patience and rest your eye's say every 30 min's.. Good luck Jason. Hope I helped? Ralph.
JB great fines I know you said some of them can or will be group together. So my questions is do you end up putting them all in tubes for long term storage?.
what is that mark on the leaf @ 12:19? It looks like a water droplet mark but couldn't be since these all were new. There's actually a bunch of those on that coin. Another 15:37 next to torch. Thanks
Thank you JR, 1 more question. I've been saving paper currency that are in consecutive serial numbers. How many #'s in order would one need to be of any extra value? 2? 10? 25? more? Thanks
Me and my granddaughter like your videos cuz they're so inspirational and come up with new varieties and things for her to look at so let's keep it going mr. JB and happy Hunting
I applaud your efforts and thoroughness - quick comment or suggestion. The grading companies (PCGS and NGC) typically use 5x magnification for Doubled Die, Off Center Strikes, Cuds, other mint errors, or mint varieties. I believe it is a rare exception a coin is considered an error or variety under more magnification and with newer mintages they often fall within the companies mint variance. What exactly is the point of the microscope if not to do greater than 5x magnification and if so, what would be the point of keeping small variations seen only under this higher magnification?
Ruben, welcome to the world of collecting. Once you enter this world, Baseball cards, Comic books and whatever else you fancy it's all about meeting the buyer who will think what you are offering is fair and 99.9% of the time unless you have a diamond in the rough it's worth as much as someone willing to pay for it.
I have the very serious die error on the obvers of my 2015 Dime with double die on both sides of the dime. But mine is a Denver Mint. Scratching my head off n what to do on this one...??idk🤷♂️🤔
I apologize im new to collecting. I have a dime that looks like heated metal in a pour that wasn't pressed flat or it looks like like a double layered look. It also has a faded something next to his nose and stuff on the back. 2 marks that I can tell it looks like when it happened when the coin was made prior to it being stamped. I never seen a coin like this. Any ideas?
Is that's considered a double die on the mint mark then I have been skipping a lot of coins that resemble somewhere double dies like that I just didn't think mile double die like that was worth anything I thought it was more of this shadows of the lighting
Hey JB great video enjoyed it. got a question on a dime here I'll show you got a few errors on it pretty unique think you might know what to do like to get your advice thank you.
I'm downloading this as it seems like the last box I opened has all new dimes of this mintage. After the third roll I sealed the box as I am a novice at present but errors are present to the eye under the cheap loop I have. Thanks for this video. What's my best option with this good problem?
Check the date if its newer than 1982 chances are pretty good someone did put an acid on it at some point. When in doubt you could take it to a coin shop. I usually see one every box or so and toss them back unless they are 1982 or older. Good Luck
I have a 1989 coin dime that has off centering and also is a double die error it's amazing. Even the p was sectioned out, can I find a away to show you? It's like they printed half of the neck and head and also doubled the nostril and off center.
I'm quite new to actually looking at coins, but I've been going thru my spare change in my tool box at work and find all kinds of what you would call cuds and cracks and that is just with an eye loop and not a microscope.
hey just started coin hunting. bought box of dimes found 4 1970 no S marks. I read somewhere these are valuable. they dont look like they are in the best condition, anyway to clean these
As a cashier I can say that the weak/faint lettering was emblematic of most rolls of 2015p Dimes I opened the end of last year. Common like at least half of the Dimes in the rolls were like that. It was a bad year for Dimes.
MrK623 absolutely correct. Using the term doubled die on these P mintmarks and doubling on the date is incorrect. As stated here is either mechanical die doubling (mdd) or die deterioration doubling (ddd). Please don't infer they are the much rarer doubled dies or hub doubling.
JB, I too have found some of these error coins, weak strike on the date. I will look closer to see if there are any more errors on them. Thanks for the info.
John Rutko- I have a real job, and metal detecting is a form of relaxation. Sounds like you may not feel that way, but that's okay. You can just sit there and write comments about others, or you can go out and get a life of your own...just saying
rookierollhunter it simply seems to me that this hobby is obsessive with you its like gambling or the lottery now were you to say you had actually found valuable coins and now reap the cash harvest THEN it seems your time spent had merits but since you HAVEN'T its only a habit for lack of anything else no mark on your character just saying
Never mind comments like that. I, too, am a coin collector and have found a few beauties worth real $$$. What you, I and anyone else does with our time, unless it inflicts harm onto others, is our own business. Keep up the collecting! :))
✨️🙂✨️ Thanks for the vid, amazing it took me so long before seeing it. Seeing how you write the errors down let's me know you are seeing what I have seen. Yes , finding much the same, Have a notebook full of dimes with these errors, (over 500 dimes) often hardly enough room to write the errors as you have on each coin sleeve. Ranging mostly from 2006 to 2024, same error types. Same conclusion about saving the non error ones too. So far mine are from actual change, not roll hunting. Too many to not see more vids about them. Thanks again, happy hunting.
It is totally crazy on how many errors there really is. I was trying to do my 60's & 70's quarters, needless to say I didn't make it that far before I thought I must have been doing something wrong. And I'm still not exactly sure how to determine that double die quite right.
Boy, what a boatload of errors to be found!! I truly need a microscope, I'm using a very small 60x loupe and wow do my eyes get tired quickly!! Great finds, J&B!! Loving this video!! More homework to do for me!! Keeping me very busy!! Thank you, very much!! :)
was going through my George Washington $1 coins and found one that the 7 at the end of his term is not there. Do you think it's a good idea to send it off to be graded? I have no idea how much this coin will bring.
Not sure if that would be worth the cost? If all the letters are missing then it would rise to a higher level in value. Still, you found it, if you think it's cool then keep it and mark it that way. WE put CRH on the flip or holder for each one we find. Kinda cool when you look back once in a while and see all the "treasures" YOU found. Just enjoy it. JB
thank u for all the videos ur a true expert on coin collecting. I just started coin collecting. I don't have a microscope but I try to find the value able coins if I find them. I don't understand the doubling or the mint marks on how to tell if they have the errors or not. I have some that might be rare but don't know for sure.
Thanks for posting. I have a quick questing for you though, let's say you go and buy a $500 box of half dollars, you go through them and you find and take what you want. After you finish do you end up taking the box back to the same bank and get another box? I'm asking because today I went and bought my first 5 rolls of nickels and I picked out the coins I wanted. Should I just take the rest back and ask for 5 other rolls?
A lot of the really common ones are not going to have a high value. Maybe $2-20!? The problem is right now there are just too many of them being found. But to a new collector or someone who has never found anything the thrill of saying "I found this" gives them a value that doesn't show up in a coin guide. Good hunting JB
Found a dime with the reverse penny on the dime can't tell a date because the dime is also the reverse...I'm thinking it's a fake but had to ask if you had ever seen anything like that....thanks
please could I get some advice on if this penny I have is a DDO OR DIE CHATTER? PLEASE send me an email and I can send photos from my microscope I bought it just for taking photos of my coins
This seems like a fun and interesting thing to do but how much can you really sell these for with such small errors? Other than double dies, I don't see how their value can go up by a reasonable amount.
+Bananapeople8 Don't know if you can sell them for big bucks until we try but we just enjoy finding them and I think based on the feedback that most people just find it cool to finally find some kind of errors or varieties after searching for the big money holy grails and not really having much luck or success? Making it fun again is maybe worth more than what they could be worth if sold? Just a thought. Good hunting, JB
A Man after my own heart! I have been "cherrypicking" since my teens (4 decades plus) when I found Alan Herbert's Mint Errors book in a bookstore. I realized my dream of getting his autograph on my book, in the early 2000's. I recently went through my whole collection, no small feat. And added alot of Mint errors/varieties to the collection. AND yielded myself about $1100.00 in change that went back into circulation, including MANY copper cent, Small dollars, etc. Would love to know your location, it would be awesome to meet up with you!
Hey JB thanks for the info I found one in my pocket change just now while watching this video 9:30 am 3/15/2017 with a 10x power loop I can definitely see the doubling on the mint mark and the date and the designers initials and possibly in in god we trust . In your professional opinion are these dimes worth having graded mine has been very lightly circulated it still looks new. I just want to thank you and camera girl for your hard work in making theses videos cause without your videos most of us would probably not be able to find these error coins btw this is the first time I have found a double die coin and I would have never found it if I had not watched this video. Thanks, WILL from N.C
Love your videos. Have learned a lot from you. I recently posted a similar dime video myself. Got an awesome 2016 P yesterday in change. It has many errors. Going through my entire coin collection so more videos are coming.
OK, So, what about the errors on the 2015 drimes? You didn't mention money value or anything. Sorry, but that's all that matters to me. I wouldn't know a "BU" from a hole in the ground. I have collected a bunch of wheaties, some quarters and some bills. But I'm not really into coin collecting. But, I'll sell whatever will get me considerable cash from anything I can trade. I have a decent 1996 penny, with a close "AM". Is that worth anything? I can't tell if it has anything else 'wrong' with it.
Sandra P I WROTE YOU QUITE SOME TIME AGO THAT I HAD SEVERAL COINS ,WHICH THEY ARE A MIXTURE OF COINS. I ASKED WHAT CATEGORY TO PUT THESE BLURRED I CALLED THEM BECAUSE I AM OLD AND MEMORY NOT GOOD. SO I STILL NEED AN ANSWER AS TO WHAT TO DO WITH THEM. I JUST WISH I KNEW HOW TO SELL.
You buy a roll or a box of rolls from the bank and then open them looking for Silver coins or collectible coins. You can find half Dollars in a box and it will cost you 50 cents for that coin plus your time but if you went to buy it for the Silver value it would cost maybe $6 plus just for the silver melt value. If its in nice shape it could be worth a lot of money if its a collectible coin. Hope this helps? Watch more videos of ours and you will see what to look for and how easy it really is.
First let me say that I enjoy your videos. I just found a 1986 d dime with a D on Roosevelt's cheek. Have you ever heard of this error? I can't find any information on it.
on the very first close up (you said was no errors ) is a long scratch in the B, E, R In the word Liberty..... I'd say that wasn't true..... Although it still might have been the best of the bunch!
I hear you on this, it is SO time consuming when you are looking at each coin through the microscope. Then after you spend hours and you have gone cross eyed a few days later someone finds another error and you are going through the same coins again......WITH the microscope.......lol IT'S CRAZY!!!......lol
When using my microscope. I find it easier to place the coin on a card. To move the coin, I can move the card without touching the coin or having to adjust focus.
i just sent in to ngc for grade a1941 the one is under the iwo the1942 dime has the two over the one it great mercury dime i great it to be at least a 1963
I have one 1969 XD Linconl penny. Also two XD Dimes. I have also, 1948 penny not in copper, but made with the same material as the dimes and nickles. With erros, i have more than a dozen of Dimes, Coins and Lincoln pennies. Some day will try to sort and sell them

so I should be on the lookout for 2015 p nickels and dimes (American coinage) ? :)
I think that he's doing a great job explaining how the error coins are and what to look for. mr jb coins helped me alot on how to identify errors with my coin hunting
Thank you so much for this video for the 2015 one dimes. I have so many of these crazy looking dimes.

JB..just came across a 2016 D Roosevelt Dime with doubling on reverse...olive branch leaves...torch and flame...please advise
Hey jb.. I have a Quarter 2016. Double die. On the obverse. And reverse
JB great fines I know you said some of them can or will be group together. So my questions is do you end up putting them all in tubes for long term storage?.
yes
May i ask what kind of microscope are you using pls thank you in advance
what is that mark on the leaf @ 12:19? It looks like a water droplet mark but couldn't be since these all were new. There's actually a bunch of those on that coin. Another 15:37 next to torch. Thanks

Got a 1920 penny in my change today! I always cherry pick check my change. Keep ALL of the 2009 dimes and nickels you come across!
Me and my granddaughter like your videos cuz they're so inspirational and come up with new varieties and things for her to look at so let's keep it going mr. JB and happy Hunting
Thank you for watching! Happy hunting!!!J&B
What times magnification are you using?
Awesome video. Thank you so much.
May you and yours have a safe and happy new year.

From what I'm finding, a lot of the errors shown are visible with naked eye.
I have a 2016 p double die dime on both sides should i get it graded
Yep
Where is the doubling?
what is a good microscope to use (like your using), I don't have any luck on picking the right one. thanks
Thank you, I bought a AmScope SE305-PX Binocular. I hope this is a good one, using a loop is killing my eye lol
Lisa Baubeau û
.hey jb..really enjoying the vids..been finding a lot of stuff myself..keep 'em coming and as always happy hunting...
where do we take these rare coins to get checked and cash in I found some
Try EBay or a local coin show. See what they are going for on EBay for what you have and decide.
I have a dime like the one you had on your other video. What do I do with it...
Any ideas?
I have a 2015 P with die clash and die break. What do I do with it now?
How much do you think this 2015p coin is worth? I have one but it's between platiada
U have patience my friend! Wow. I need a microscope in my life!
I have a 1972pennie ddon the rim beside liberty .How much is it worth, because you said you would like to have one.
Is that's considered a double die on the mint mark then I have been skipping a lot of coins that resemble somewhere double dies like that I just didn't think mile double die like that was worth anything I thought it was more of this shadows of the lighting

What's my best option with this good problem?
Hello sir,I just want to know .what is the value of 2015 now. Thank u
I have a Lincoln penny the looks like it has been eating through by some kind of acid any idea where I would get it checked out
Check the date if its newer than 1982 chances are pretty good someone did put an acid on it at some point. When in doubt you could take it to a coin shop. I usually see one every box or so and toss them back unless they are 1982 or older. Good Luck
Cool I have a few of the weak strikes already to!!
I have a 1989 coin dime that has off centering and also is a double die error it's amazing. Even the p was sectioned out, can I find a away to show you? It's like they printed half of the neck and head and also doubled the nostril and off center.
Sure send us an email with good clear pics and we will get back as soon as we can. J&B
I’ve got the 2015 P flawless and the 2015 - I guess it’s a P - flawed help me. How to upload pics.
I'm quite new to actually looking at coins, but I've been going thru my spare change in my tool box at work and find all kinds of what you would call cuds and cracks and that is just with an eye loop and not a microscope.
hey just started coin hunting. bought box of dimes found 4 1970 no S marks. I read somewhere these are valuable. they dont look like they are in the best condition, anyway to clean these
These are very minor errors. Are they even worth anything? New to this, so curious.

Totally agree with you. JB needs to research mechanical doubling and die deteriation. GOOGLE is free to do research.
The info was great. I believe I have found a few of what you have described. Thanks J&B
JB, I too have found some of these error coins, weak strike on the date. I will look closer to see if there are any more errors on them. Thanks for the info.

Hello Sir.
I just want to ask you 2015 dime p
It worth anything .$..?
Thanks for your time
✨️🙂✨️
Thanks for the vid, amazing it took me so long before seeing it. Seeing how you write the errors down let's me know you are seeing what I have seen.
Yes , finding much the same,
Have a notebook full of dimes with these errors, (over 500 dimes) often hardly enough room to write the errors as you have on each coin sleeve.
Ranging mostly from 2006 to 2024, same error types.
Same conclusion about saving the non error ones too. So far mine are from actual change, not roll hunting. Too many to not see more vids about them.
Thanks again, happy hunting.

I'm new to this. If you tell us how much these will sell for it would be greatly appreciated.
it depends on coin's grade
If you find a coin with an error that is different form the errors you usually look at. How you determine the value of that coin?
was going through my George Washington $1 coins and found one that the 7 at the end of his term is not there. Do you think it's a good idea to send it off to be graded? I have no idea how much this coin will bring.

Thank you for all your help
I found 2 2015 P dimes in my coin jar, not sure what to look for but I am saving them lol
JB thank you for the information, I my self just started last month collecting some of the coins they show on you tube.
thank u for all the videos ur a true expert on coin collecting. I just started coin collecting. I don't have a microscope but I try to find the value able coins if I find them. I don't understand the doubling or the mint marks on how to tell if they have the errors or not. I have some that might be rare but don't know for sure.
how much is a 2015 P worth now ?
Thanks for the heads up. I'll be on the lookout for them.
Dear sir i have a roosevelt dime 1991d there was none minted that year so do i have a error coin acc
I found a D mint 2015 with lots of errors as well
Thanks for posting.
Question*
absolutely do not take the coins back to the same bank.
+Mark Hahn alright. So what do I do? Take it to another bank? What's the problem if your a coin collector?
+ZD__ you do not want to tick off the tellers. if u do then they will not let you buy rolls from them.
Spend em is what I do only do halves &sm dollars.call me the re circulator!😎
Could it be they cut down on the silver? not the crack tho!
2015 are not silver.
JBCOINSINC dam,what are they?
The miners left the mines many months ago. Why then,I thought manipulation to bring up price. Still out?! shame
By what you're showing on that double die I have got quite a few! And those are the ones that are obvious to me.
What is the value in the 2007 D Penny?
SAM Goshorn I have a 2.00 bill with red numbers on it, what does that mean
Great Work J!!
Tengo uno con gran error. Está a la venta
I have been surprised at how many dimes are slightly off center. I haven't collected them because there are so many.
Aren't some of these errors a reach? Would the very minor ones be worth anything?
A lot of the really common ones are not going to have a high value. Maybe $2-20!? The problem is right now there are just too many of them being found. But to a new collector or someone who has never found anything the thrill of saying "I found this" gives them a value that doesn't show up in a coin guide. Good hunting JB
Mr51Caveman
Mr51Caveman
Patricia Waterson ummmm...yes?
what would be the value on this coin?
What do you do with all those errors coins?
I'm pretty sure he keeps the really rare ones and sells the somewhat old coins like wheaties
Do you have an email address I can send you some information on errors found in the 2016 D mint dimes? Thank you.
Working on it. Will post notice when it's up.
Thank you.
Found a dime with the reverse penny on the dime can't tell a date because the dime is also the reverse...I'm thinking it's a fake but had to ask if you had ever seen anything like that....thanks
Yep, they exist and there are frauds too. Only way to be sure is use a grading company. also, Heritage Auctions at HA.com free appraisals. Good Luck
please could I get some advice on if this penny I have is a DDO OR DIE CHATTER?
People sell errors on ebay all the time. usually for a buck or two depending on the error type,
A Man after my own heart! Would love to know your location, it would be awesome to meet up with you!
would you 1966 dime with no mint be worth anything
I got a 2015 P dime with penny coper behind it
Why don't you add a voiceover while the video from the microphone is playing in your video editor?
Settle down, Matthew.

I have a 2015 D with two stamped face's on the front of the time
why is the 1979 double D dime gold? It's the only one I've ever seen. it weighs 2.2 grams
Love your videos. Have learned a lot from you. I recently posted a similar dime video myself. Got an awesome 2016 P yesterday in change. It has many errors. Going through my entire coin collection so more videos are coming.
I did see an error on the dime he says is the perfect dime. A line across Liberty , line going through the "B"to the "T" at about 7:47 mark
I quess all 2015 dimes are errored I found a D mint with many errors as well
I have a 2015 dime with DD and date and reversed side also it's so noticeable even if you hold it two feet away
tiene algun valor esa moneda 2015 p
Rar has that music money sign
I've already have a15 dime with 3 mint stamp and not counting the year in 3 different places
Thank you for the helpful response.

I WROTE YOU QUITE SOME TIME AGO THAT I HAD SEVERAL COINS ,WHICH THEY ARE A MIXTURE OF COINS. I ASKED WHAT CATEGORY TO PUT THESE BLURRED I CALLED THEM BECAUSE I AM OLD AND MEMORY NOT GOOD. SO I STILL NEED AN ANSWER AS TO WHAT TO DO WITH THEM. I JUST WISH I KNEW HOW TO SELL.
Should I find any of these coins worth thousands.....We will PARTY !!!!
I have a 1999 p he has his ear cut going down his neck down to chin there's a few more but can't explain .can't send picture
I hava one dime 2015 how much a value
Tengo 3 dimes 2015 d sin circular
Hey I'm new to ur channel but what's roll hunting
You buy a roll or a box of rolls from the bank and then open them looking for Silver coins or collectible coins. You can find half Dollars in a box and it will cost you 50 cents for that coin plus your time but if you went to buy it for the Silver value it would cost maybe $6 plus just for the silver melt value. If its in nice shape it could be worth a lot of money if its a collectible coin. Hope this helps? Watch more videos of ours and you will see what to look for and how easy it really is.

I've seen 2015 p dimes with machine doubling on Ebay for 5$. Bad move. Hang on to them.
First let me say that I enjoy your videos. I just found a 1986 d dime with a D on Roosevelt's cheek. Have you ever heard of this error? I can't find any information on it.
So, is there any value to these coins? I never knew you would look for the tiniest imperfection.
how much do you think these 2015 errors are worth?
richcali21
Yes?
on the very first close up (you said was no errors ) is a long scratch in the B, E, R In the word Liberty.....
