Excellent video! I need to catch up on your videos. I have been doing my own CRH mainly from watching you. I have 3 of your mats. Thank you again. Take care. 😊👍
Sitting here watching you again, years later, wondering why I continue to want to watch you... (not a bad thing)... I collected change back in the 60's... I exchanged my allowance money for coins in my parents pockets... This was the typical scenario of child coin collecting once they got their XMAS Whitman Coin Collecting Sets back in early 50's, 60's... Mine is nothing special beyond being able to (historically anyway) open up the box of folders to see all these old coins and remembering how I found many of them. When you go through your rolls of coins it makes me remember my Dad emptying his pockets of change (he got a lot of new change each day to take home). I felt the same thing you experience going through your coin rolls as I did when I went through my Dad's pockets of change!!! Was my personal treasure hunt. Loved it then and love watching you many generations later loving the same things!!!!
I pull out all the 'marked' halves and others and quick clean them with a little acetone before putting them back to circulation. Enjoy your videos, keep em' coming.
Quinn, I hunt dollar coins on a regular basis. You should look for the extra spike on the Washington and Jefferson coins. These are cool and can be found.
That proof coin was dope and I love finding the bicentennial quarters too! I don't hunt rolls (I would love to at some point thought!) but I've found a couple nice coins: I found a W Tallgrass Prairie on the floor in a Target several years ago and earlier this year, I found two 1964 Dimes in a coinstar machine at the same time. My dad has a coin collection with some silver coins, tons of wheat pennies, some foreign too (I love finding foreign coins as well), and some miscellaneous as well. My favorite coins my dad has are a US 3 cent coin and a Polish coin, a 3 Groschen, from 1584!
Ryan, my parents owned a bar, and I know it's been a long standing tradition for bar owners to mark their coins with red sharpie or paint. Then when the vendor who owns the coin-operated machines would come service the juke box (empty coins), they'd give those marked ones back to the bar without splitting the cut of the "profit" from those coins bar owners used to play music. They get put back into circulation when the marked ones went unnoticed by the vendor, or when I'd take the "house" marked quarters and put them into the games instead of jukebox 😂
Great hunt for pennies and nickel.i do the same for time to time . I do have wheat pennies Buffalo nickel not sure how many . they're in my other room from yrs ago.
I found a 2019-W War in the Pacific a few days ago. Problem is I've found two other ones in the last few months already. I think it's the only 2019 I've found.
My son owns a laundromat in southern Virginia. Once a month I go through his quarters when he empties his washers/dryers. Over the past two years I’ve found over 30 “W” quarters. The great thing is I don’t have to unroll or re-roll them. Just take a cupful out of a 5 gallon bucket, search through them, and throw them into another bucket! Life is good!!
I have alot of 74 pennies and have got quite alot of Wheat pennies from 1935 all the 40's n 50's in quarter's I have some 2000 n 1776-1976 n Canadian nickel and dime , I also have lots of dimes I need to know what to look for on them and I know you have a lot to do but can you help me with how to get the information of what I need to ❤know about the specific coins, for example the Wisconsin and the leaves on corn, maybe a site or a book that you would suggest me getting to find this kind of information. I have a hard time keeping up and my eyes are getting worse but I do enjoy watching your site and I see you getting excited when you get a coin you are looking for and I miss doing this with my Dad so I am picking it back up and I to enjoy it I Thank you Sincerely, Kimberly ❤
I just recently found a "Tallgrass" W minted quarter and a Rhode Island S mint proof coin in my gas station change! They were not in my collection books so I made their own spots for them in the blank holes in the back page.
The first edition of Alan Herbert's "Coin Clinic" talks about the near date/wide rim SBA. Out of the total mintage for the 79P, the Mint estimates that it struck "up to" 160,750,000 with the near date/wide rim, or about half the total mintage. The reason we don't find a lot of them is that most are still buried in the Treasury vaults. The question remains whether or not they'll have any additional value if and when those are ever released. But hey, it's still a variety though, just not an especially hard to find one, sort of similar to the 74-D DDO half dollar IMO.
I’ve been skunked on my last 5 boxes of halves if not more. But my last one hit for 2-90 and 12 40 also a 90 clad proof. Can’t ever give up on bank rolled.
Have you ever sourced coin rolls from amusement arcades? They seem to collect a lot of coins in their machines. Maybe even a local social club with machines will hand or machine roll these. Could be an alternative when rolls get low.
Proof with edge lettering are sometimes struck with a 3 piece collar die. As opposed to the business strikes getting the edge lettering before or after, proofs have the edge lettering put on during striking. If the collar die doesn't break apart, the coin will get stuck because of the edge lettering locking in with the collar die. So it splits in 3 pieces like a pie. The metal on the edge of the coin flows into the gaps between the collar die pieces. That's where the line comes from. Why do it like this? Well it's so all the edge lettering faces the same position. On circulation strikes it's put on before striking (I think, it might be after) and it can face either the obverse or reverse. So if you get a proof with the edge lettering facing the wrong way, it can be an error.
What’s the best way to keep your quarters that you want to collect? I’m just starting out and I’d like to collect quarters from 1965 to present of both Denver and Philly mints. I’m not sure there are San Francisco quarters that were minted. What kind of “ book “ would you recommend?
The lines on the rim of the proof dollars is because the collar is a 3-piece affair with the legend as part of the collar. The lines are from the gaps between the sections of the collar. On non-proof coins, the edge lettering is added in a separate process with the coin being rolled in a press to imprint the legend. On the 2007-dated coins with no edge lettering, the coins either missed the edge-lettering process completely or the pressure was insufficient to imprint the lettering.
I don’t believe that banks are skimming silver- I believe that people are. It has been dwindling down for many years to get to this point. You shouldn’t have such high expectations to find silver after only hunting 3 boxes
I see you pass up on the 2015 Homestead Quarters. There are errors you can find on those.. One is called "Snow On The Roof" which is is a die chip that makes it look like snow on the roof of the house. And the other is "Leaky Bucket" which is a die chip on the bottom of the bucket that make it look like the water is running out of the bottom of it.
Look in nose of wong quarter , i found two with small partial moon(1/4) raised metal. Discovery coins, who knows. Under you in carolina , Bank ,South State. Also have Alaskan quarter where metal (cud?) Joined two lower claws into one, so he only has 4 claws.
Where do you find is the best place to order rolls or boxes of rolls from ? Any certain place you have better luck with finding silver or even gold or rare coins ??
Kitchen coin shooting. Several years ago could go to the bank and pick up coins in the bags. Afterwards would return the bag, minus the coins I found. The bank would dump the bag into their coin counter machine. After the count I would get back the difference, make up the difference, would then purchase another bag. Start all over again.
At 32:43 the star to the left of the year date has a "powder horn" or"quarter Moon", is this just a stain or is it stamped into it? I'm not sure if you noticed it?
I pop in and out of your videos over the past 2 years and I wondered if you ever come across business strike S quarters? I can't recall if you mention them. I know the silver and W and actual proofs get your shout outs, but how is your luck on those other odd-ball San Fran quarters?
Yes I do! Matter of fact, if you watch the fourth episode in this mini series (the one right before this one), you will see one make an appearance! I’d say I find them just about as often as proofs in the quarters
Wanted to share that this afternoon I purchased a box of nickels at a local Wells Fargo branch. Imagine my surprise when I opened it and found 50 unopened rolls of 2024-P nickels!!
I order the change for my work and now and then I add dollar coins to the order to see what shows up. Have had a few proofs, and once we received 4 rolls with the president's name stamped on the side, they seem to be uncirculated rolls.
I have a 1968 penny and it has a dime strike on the rim.Idk what the edge of a dime is called that has all the little cut lines on edge of dime.Well the 1968 penny has a dime mark strike on the edge of penny. And penny is not bent. And marks are not from like plyers or vise grip teeth .A dime edge marks line up exactly with penny and you think any value to it by chance.
Excellent video! I need to catch up on your videos. I have been doing my own CRH mainly from watching you. I have 3 of your mats. Thank you again. Take care. 😊👍
Awesome series! Loved all of it, keep up the great vids!

Thank you so much for sharing- I love this!
Great hunt as always. Would love to see more dollar hunts. You seems you find more in the dollars. Please take care. Hi to Deb.
I like the varieties and different coin videos but I also enjoy the nickels videos, thanks for sharing your knowledge and in a friendly manner 😊
I pull out all the 'marked' halves and others and quick clean them with a little acetone before putting them back to circulation. Enjoy your videos, keep em' coming.
Cool, I always love your coin search videos, you always find cool stuff in the rolls, good on luck on this hunt, hope you found so cool things
if you look at 10:19 on the nickels when your looking at the date you skipped over a buffalo nickel and dont think you realized you had it
That’s not a buffalo it’s a 2004 Nickel worth almost nothing
@Mrcoinman778 I couldn't tell😂 either way it looked spot on

Been a numismatist for 30 years and never seen this fun collecting point sheet. I'd like to find one for my boy and I to have fun!
Quinn, I hunt dollar coins on a regular basis. You should look for the extra spike on the Washington and Jefferson coins. These are cool and can be found.
Awesome video. Love seeing what you find when opening coin rolls

BIG hunt!! Thanks for the video, as always...!!
I love your videos they are so awesome
Nice job 😊😊😊
I reallllly enjoyed this video! Would love to see more similar.

Great finds!
10:41 buffalo nickel
That one was a newer 2005 commemorative nickel, they do look alike.
I found a 2019-W War in the Pacific a few days ago. Problem is I've found two other ones in the last few months already. I think it's the only 2019 I've found.
I visited Colorado and some how I found a W in pocket change!!
Salt River Bay are the ones I find mostly

@butchmcelwee3280 that's awesome have you found a full set then?
@jp27whodey31 As I said, that's the only 2019 I've found. So no, no full set.
Totally smothe on edge, nothing just shinny !
Hard to believe it is almost over... It's been a helluva' fun adventure.
Thanks Ryan
Enjoyed this one, thanks. Halves are dead here too- mostly new ones nowadays. Seems like the action is all in quarters and dollars.
22:09 missed a rim cud on that WV quarter.
I noticed that to. Nice catch!
its like gambling but you don't lose
You might. I had a roll of quarters with 39 quarters and one nickel!
Thanks for the hunt!
Nice hunt, the halves, I never have luck searching there them either. They are just tough.
I just recently found a "Tallgrass" W minted quarter and a Rhode Island S mint proof coin in my gas station change! They were not in my collection books so I made their own spots for them in the blank holes in the back page.
I went through a penny hunting phase a while back...found some machine doubling and a few other oddities. It's a fun past time.
Where did you get the reference mats for each denomination? I really like those
@@paulyKeys they’re available on my website www.quinscoins.com
Thank you!
I pulled out a 1892 Indian head penny a week ago
Thanks for sharing. Overall not bad. Sure, why not! Thanks Ray
I have a 1985 Dime that looks like that - almost deep cameo, interesting.
10:40 oh well technically there was a buffalo :)

We don’t use pennies here in Canada 🇨🇦 anymore
3:54 I have a shiny one of that somewhere 😊😊
Nice hunt
Yeah, I love your videos too.
Hey just a question, what do you do with the coins you discard?
I was wondering the same thing.
I am also wondering. I want to start hunting but didn’t want to have a box of coins. Do you roll them back up and take them back to the bank?
@ some banks take only rolls while some have coin star-like machines
Do you seperate the 1982 and older pennies?
I just bought 5 boxes of all pre 1982 pennies.
I still have quite a few silver half dollar coins from the 196ties and earlier.
I’ve been skunked on my last 5 boxes of halves if not more. But my last one hit for 2-90 and 12 40 also a 90 clad proof. Can’t ever give up on bank rolled.
Where do you purchase the box of coins? This is new to me and looks fun!
Are you still in Nc? If so where about? Do you look at peoples coin collections to see if they have any value to them? I’m in Raleigh
What Canadian coin guide do you use?
Have you ever sourced coin rolls from amusement arcades? They seem to collect a lot of coins in their machines. Maybe even a local social club with machines will hand or machine roll these. Could be an alternative when rolls get low.
Your website is very popular as everything is OUT OF STOCK!
Where do you get the coins to check ?
Nice!!
As soon as he put it in the roll he knew he would unwrapped it in front of the camera an act surprised😂😂😂😂😂
In the first roll there was a Buffalo nickel
Proof with edge lettering are sometimes struck with a 3 piece collar die. As opposed to the business strikes getting the edge lettering before or after, proofs have the edge lettering put on during striking.

So if you get a proof with the edge lettering facing the wrong way, it can be an error.
You forgot to look up half dollars on the back for FG missing
Love your videos! I am starting to hunt myself :) How do you turn in the coins you do not keep? My bank charges 2% to turn change back in :(
5:55 i found 17 wheat pennies in my last box so i hope u fine more lol
I ordered three boxes of $500 halves. Not one silver 90% or even 40%. The banks are skimming all the silver out of these boxes before they sell them.
I don’t believe that banks are skimming silver- I believe that people are. It has been dwindling down for many years to get to this point. You shouldn’t have such high expectations to find silver after only hunting 3 boxes
18:11 I have an In God We Rust and I was wonder how much it is worth
I see you pass up on the 2015 Homestead Quarters. There are errors you can find on those.. Hi if a dollar bill has a k for Kennedy from the 1960 or so series are they rare, I have a good 20
Where can I get coins rolls?

They’re probably going to make a Jimmy Carter Dollar Coin. Cuz you know… he’s just passed.
roman atwood would love to do this :D
I've seen some 2019/2020 P&D quarters marked with a black sharpie perhaps to indicate no W like you see with the halves for no silver.
At 10:39 at the beginning of the nickels there's a buffalo nickel
Kitchen coin shooting. Several years ago could go to the bank and pick up coins in the bags. Afterwards would return the bag, minus the coins I found. The bank would dump the bag into their coin counter machine. After the count I would get back the difference, make up the difference, would then purchase another bag. Start all over again.
were do you suggest to sell my copper penny ? Thanks Fred
How common is it to find steel pennies?
At 32:43 the star to the left of the year date has a "powder horn" or"quarter Moon", is this just a stain or is it stamped into it? I'm not sure if you noticed it?
10:40 he missed on a buffalo NIckel, it was the first he touched.
I pop in and out of your videos over the past 2 years and I wondered if you ever come across business strike S quarters? I can't recall if you mention them. I know the silver and W and actual proofs get your shout outs, but how is your luck on those other odd-ball San Fran quarters?

i want that coin!

Wanted to share that this afternoon I purchased a box of nickels at a local Wells Fargo branch. Imagine my surprise when I opened it and found 50 unopened rolls of 2024-P nickels!!
29:30
Thank you!
How do you get boxes of coins from the banks
Hello! I have a question. What is your oldest, and or rarest coin? I have wondered this for a while now, and just never asked for some reason.
Any value in Ike dollars?
I order the change for my work and now and then I add dollar coins to the order to see what shows up. Have had a few proofs, and once we received 4 rolls with the president's name stamped on the side, they seem to be uncirculated rolls.
I saw in the nickel’s roll that there was a buffalo nickel and something else just relook at the nickel rolls
Found a proof penny in a roll once so people do put them in circulation
1974 pennies, i noticed some have detailed highlights on the hairstyle
I have a 1968 penny and it has a dime strike on the rim.Idk what the edge of a dime is called that has all the little cut lines on edge of dime.Well the 1968 penny has a dime mark strike on the edge of penny. And penny is not bent. And marks are not from like plyers or vise grip teeth .A dime edge marks line up exactly with penny and you think any value to it by chance.
the one penny I'm always looking for is a copper 1943.
I have a Cheerio 2000 in the original packaging from the cereal box. Is it worth anything
10:42 buffalo?
AS SOON AS I SAW THIS, I KNEW I FOUND A RARE COIN!.....but I'm not going to waste 45 minutes trying to find out what coin that was
