Gosh darnit i just did my install yesterday and I wish I would've seen this video. The wiring part especially was so clear. Much more clear than the pdf. Though I was able to wire it correctly, having a good visual representation is much more helpful.

I truly am appreciative of the obvious talent and effort that y'all put into your videos. Your honest opinions and reasoning have influenced several decisions that I have made for the current and future outfitting of my 5th Gen 4Runner. Add to that the entertainment factor and y'all are knocking these out of the park.

As always, great video and super helpful for us installers triple checking the steps lol. I have the 2010-2013 5th Gen so unfortunately I had to cut and splice into some of the factory wires behind the head unit, which was nerve wracking, but so far working. I'm glad I quadruple checked your video bc I would've missed how the blue and grey wires on the switch can be used for the button illumination. The site's diagram just says those are for 2020+ models, but your video shows how else it can be used. Thanks for the great instructions with this, and all your other videos, and hope they keep coming!

      Thanks for watching James!
We purposely left that part out due to the
various models the kit works on. We can verify the places to tap into on our
late model 5th Gen but not the Taco or Tundra.
If you're is a 4Runner like ours; Coming out of
any illuminated dash switch there will be a gray and a green wire. That's where
you can tie into for the dash lights. We used the wires on the back of our
heated wiper switch. A simple tee splice will work. Just make sure it cuts
through the insulation enough to make good contact. Sometimes they don't.
If you have any other questions please just ask.
We'll try to get back to you as soon as possible.

For some reason it only is working when in reverse. I'm assuming I did something wrong or have a bad connection or.... HELP. Thanks

It does sound like you did something wrong. I think you should take it back apart and run through the whole installation again. And make sure the grounds are good.

@@WanderlostOverland It's a clear image, canted at a good angle for parking and approaching obstacles, doesn't have any lines on the screen, and is powered under the hood instead of back at the switch.
