We installed this front camera kit as well with the camera that goes in the front symbol and we love this system. The one that goes up in the lower part of the symbol doesn't get obstructed by an aftermarket bumper which is a plus but obviously doesn't fit if you switch to the pro grill it won't fit lol.
Yes! If the new switch is in its neutral position the reverse cam will turn on like normal. If it’s switched to either front or back then that view will stay on until you toggle the switch.
There’s not much too it, similar to wiring any sort of aftermarket lights that use a relay and switch. I chose a fuse that had a higher amperage than what the switch/camera would draw and put in an add-a-fuse. Switch/relay can only turn on with vehicle power on. Pretty straight forward!
Made going through the firewall harder than it had to be. Next time just use straight dish washing soap and don’t be shy with it. It’s just soap. If you have the squirt bottle kind you can even shoot a little into the hole.
Yeah good tip! I’ve used that method a couple times since this video along with taping to a sturdier wire to jab through and it makes it a lot easier for sure.
Good question. If you leave the switch in the FORWARD position it will turn in automatically! If it’s in the neutral (not FWD or REAR) then the screen behaves like normal.
Is it still working ok for you? Mine works for 5s and then it goes black. I have heat shield the lines but nothing...just tryinf to figure out what the issue is. Thank you.
Yes, mine works well. Hmm… I would start by tracing all your wiring, see if something is broken. Sounds like power is being cut since the camera does work for a min.
I think I cut two wires, but your directions should specifically say which one to cut to flip the image left/right! You’ll definitely need to cut at least one if not more.
If you have the Anytime Backup Camera kit with the Premium camera (what I have) cutting the white wire should mirror the image left/right, purple will mirror horizontally, and green will remove the lines. For the Standard camera, cutting white will remove lines, green will mirror image left/right. If those don’t work I’m not entirely sure, you might have a different camera than me or something.
@@GrizzlyPath thank you for this helpful video! Now my only problem is ,where to attached the actual camera,i have 2021 4runner nightshade and I don’t know where to put it.
@@rover8242 you’re welcome! You can put it anywhere, just have to be able to access the back side. If you have to, removing the entire bumper isn’t too hard.
@@GrizzlyPath I’m talking about the OEM camera on my new 2022 TRD Pro, the front camera, the rear and the panoramic are all grainy, yours looks pretty clear from your video
Ah man. On forums I’ve seen reports that for some reason the 2022 cameras seem less clear than the previous 20-21. Word is Toyota may have switched some components. Not much I can recommend though unfortunately, hopefully it’s not too too bad!
This is great! I just installed this on my 2022; I went through the passenger sidewall instead but great walk thru!
The Channel we've all been waiting for!!! I love it man

I actually switched to a pro-grill and was able to make the front one work still 😎
@@GrizzlyPath the flat mount will but the one I have actually fit in the lower part of the emblem.
Ohhh I see that makes sense.

Hi, can you confirm if there is any issues with the front radar after all this time? Looking to install one appreciate the video.
No issues at all!
Could you please do a video explains fuse box

Hi great video. Yeah not much info with the original instructions. Which mounting pad did u end up using out of the 4 rubber pads given?
Thanks! Sorry it couldn’t be more instructional, was a pain to install! I’m sorry I can’t remember which pad I used.
Are those black overlays on the steering and radio trim, or entirely new panels altogether? Mind sharing where you got them from?
That’s all stock, I think it likely changed between the different model years. Mine is a 2020.

What did you use for your 12v source?
The kit taps into the OEM wiring behind the head unit and that’s where it gets it’s power from. Didn’t have to run separate power!
Did you cut just the white wire on the camera wire? Mine is displaying in reverse mode. The display is showing right object on the left side.

do u have harness kit for sienna 2021 for .front camera with fabric radio
I don’t make these, but look up the Anytime Backup Camera and see if they do.
Is this going to fit into 2021 4runner??thanks in advance.
I believe the 2021 has the same TSS and head unit as the 2020 so I’m pretty sure it will.

Do not need any fuse?
I can’t quite remember, I may have had to tap into a switched fuse for the switch light. But there’s also an always hot going to the battery.
The camera quality on my 2022 is awful. My 2013 RAV4 was way better quality. Thoughts?
Are you talking about the front camera quality with the kit I installed? Or the OEM front camera on your 2022 (if equipped)?
