The On Cloud surfer was hard my knees and after I bought it, I realized it had a 10mm drop. I recently purchased the Eclipse and I have had no pain but it is also a 6mm drop. I actually like it a lot.

I mostly wear the Cloudsurfer casually for working in a hospital and after about 4 months they suddenly started squeaking with every step. Drives me crazy.

Ik I'm 6 months late but put some sand in the holes and try to scuff the inside, on claim it fixes the squeak

I got black toes with the cloudmonster, very bad fit for me, the CloudEclipse are absolutely perfect though, much better toebox and fit

I just completed my first 50k in the monsters. It rained all day and the grip on the shoe was amazing . Having to run at a slower pace the monsters worked beautifully for me. I just got a pair of surfers as recovery shoes, I can't run too much in extremely squishy shoes. Still haven't had a chance to try to eclipse.

I have the Surfer and the Stratus from ON. The Surfer is my all-time favorite over my On Stratus, Brooks, Sauconys and NBs so far. Zero issues and just smooth daily miles.

@stefaniesmith7117 What do you like about the stratus 3 over the monster and eclipse? I've tried on the stratus 3 and liked it, but now I'm being persuaded toward eclipse, though I haven't tried them on

I’ve been looking at getting one of these 3 to have a running shoe for walking around Disney world, and working out. Which of these 3 would you recommend?

What kind of working out? Never lift weights in running shoes.

I picked up the cloudsurfer because the upper fit my foot a lot better than the upper of the cloudmonster which was a bit too wide. This was before the eclipse was released. Now that I've put 150km on the cloudsurfer... I can confidently say they are way too soft for me. Trying to run faster than like 4:45/km in them feels like running with wet sponges strapped to your feet. I am very curious to try the eclipse now.

Hihi, is Surfer or Eclipse better as a recovery shoe? I currently have a Adidas Boston 12 (Tempo run) & Adidas Adios Pro 3 (Race day), therefore I’m looking at a recovery shoe from On 😄

I tried the Cloudsurfer earlier this year. I have a supinated fore/mid-foot stride and a wide foot. I have been searching for years to find "the one" in terms of running shoes. The Cloudsurfer gave me some really mixed feelings. For one, I believe that because how the upper was designed in combination with the outsole, it made my foot feel like I needed to supinate even more in order to properly run. I tried many things to fix it, but decided to give up. One day on a whim, I decided to run without correcting my feet and "trusting the shoe" as an experiment. It felt very odd, but the runs were suddenly very enjoyable. I loved doing long distance in them, even though it felt so weird and frankly insecure to run in.
I'm trying out the Cloud Monsters after a stint trying some New Balance Fresh Foam Xs.

Hi team, loving the content....I have a 40mile road ultra next year....don't need a carbon plated shoe but would you think novablast 4 or On eclipse....or anything else you'd recommend I look at....pace wise without the walk breaks will be about 11mm as average....thank you

  • @RoadRallyLife

I own all three and I will say that Cloud Surfer might be the worst shoe I've ever owned in my life. Do not let the step and comfort fool you, these shoes are terrible for your knees and absolutely provide no stability. Not to mention they SQUEAK horribly. The Cloudstratus is the best shoe ON makes for both running and all day wear.

I also owe all three and initially love the surfer, (ah that step 9:53 in comfort) but it does Squeak and it does also make my knee flare up and I think the foam flattens, I really like the other two shoes.

So many shoes in the marketplace these days. Exciting to see On actually start to have performance footwear that can compete with other companies. Still think they are all about $15-$20 too expensive for what they offer performance wise

I love my cloudsurfer 7's. My plantar fasciitis does not flare up in these, nice and cushiony and never had a knee flare up yet. I do have one knee that tends to do this. However, I haven't run more than 6 miles in these. Just got the Eclipse...will try those for longer runs.

I own monster and surfer. As a average sub 4 runner, I prefer Surfer to Monster. It doesn't make me so tired after 30km compared to more springy shoes.
