    159 miles in.. Probably the best overall daily /long runner.. breathable, stylish, best roll through.. Only problem is they squeak like a bucket of rats🐀🐀.. first the right, then it went away for a while.. now both on every step.. embarrassing.. luckily my Bose Ultra QC noise cancelling buds drown them out.. Need a redesgin of the suction cup like tread..

      Supposedly if you nail file down the last 4 holes it will stop the squeak. The squeak is happening because of the clouds are so smooth that they are rubbing together when compressed. Roughing them up a little with the nail file should take care of this. I had the same issue in my Cloudsurfers.

      Read this comment and burst out laughing… ITS SO TRUE. I’m about 50 miles in and they are easily the best long distance shoe I’ve ever run in… BUT THEY SQUEAK like a MFER. My left shoe started squeaking a little at first, then right…now, OMG they drive me nuts (but noise cancelling headphone help). That said, ON knocked this one out of the park… feels like running on a cloud but with the support, stability, and lightness of a great shoe.

    I have 150 miles on my cloud eclipse and they're my go to shoe! I like the responsiveness and feel like they're less plush than the SC Trainers which I also have. I've been using them for everything from regular base miles, to long runs, to marathon pace (8:10/ mile) workouts and some threshold work. I like the the slight rigidity of the speedboard and don't find them too soft for my longer runs. In the past, I've stayed away from On because I can feel the clouds under my feet in the monster, surfer, and flyer but I've been enjoying the slight rigidity of the speedboard, the foam type, and the shape of the clouds to prevent that here.
    They're seeing some wear and tear like you mentioned, creasing in the foam and at times they squeak which I've heard is common in some Ons after 100-130 miles

    Im really impressed with the CloudEclipse and the Cloudsurfer 7. On has my attention with anything that uses this CloudPhase unit configuration moving forward.
    I like how you use the word “predictable” when referring to the ride. I know what I’m getting when I lace these up, and unlike a lot of continuous midsole shoes, the ride/transition doesn’t really change with the terrain for me. It’s good for just locking into easy pace on easy days.
    I like how the shock attenuation is structural, rather than a result of the foam durometer, so a firm foam like Helion will last a while without the midsole yielding too harsh a ride.
    And the sustainably minded dying pattern makes me feel like there’s good eco-karma. Looks good too.
    Thanks for your update!

    The first run, these just feel so vanilla to me. That’s not a bad thing. They’re a good shoe, they do the job, they’re comfy, I’d say they’re like a 7.5 or 8 on 10. Not sure I’d buy them again but certainly don’t regret buying them if that makes sense.

    I just got past the 500 mile mark in the On Cloudeclipse. They still have a nice rocker to them and feel bouncy to me, even at 500 miles. They’ve been good but will probably try something different.
    Couple things to note:
    - the sock liner bunched up in the shoe when it rained. Kind of annoying.
    - also, they “squeak” when stepping
    - I didn’t like these for very long runs (>maybe 13-14 miles). I used them on a 22 mile long run and my legs were pissed after.

    I'm a Cloudsurfer 7 person so my experiences might not exactly translate, and I bought _two_ of them because I really liked it and wanted to tell On YES I want to see more shoes like this. There's something about voting with your wallet. My wear and tear (on both) matches what you're seeing -- just the fine crosshatch is disappearing. The unprotected foam areas still look remarkably good.
    I haven't experienced the potential pressure point you're talking about. (The Cloudurfer 7 seems to have an identical upper and lacing system). On the contrary, I find that these have some of the highest toe box volumes of any of my shoes. Some shoes I can't get away with using a Currex insert because it adds about 1mm in the forefoot and more than that in the heel (therefore also adding a bit of drop). But the Cloudsurfer 7 takes it easily.

    This has been my first pair of On. I usually run in New Balance (I like both their Fresh Foam and Fuelcell midsole foams) but thought I’d give these a try as I saw many positive reviews and I like the design. I’ve done around 300km in them now and have been mostly happy but not blown away by them. I don’t know why but I’m just consistently slower in these than my NBs, which I’ve done similar mileage in.

    • @kofuzi
      @kofuzi  10 місяців тому

      They might not be for you, but also, these aren’t exactly meant for speed. So that might not be the best way to evaluate them. For example, I’d be reaching for these on days when I’m a bit more tired (like the day after a tough workout). I don’t care what my paces are on those days, and my paces on those days are typically more the result of my fatigue and not the shoe.
      But I also believe that life is too short to run in shoes you don’t like. So, if it’s not enjoyable, no need to over analyze it or try to rationalize it

    This is pretty much a daily lifestyle shoe and a runner for me. My only beef is that when I tie it snugly, the lace digs into the top of my foot a bit. Don’t feel as much running, but feel all of it on a regular day. Going to try wider laces soon because the rest of the shoe is too perfect to give up for my wide, flattish foot.

I've been surprised by this shoe, especially that its an EVA based shoe and that the stack height is not that high .. it just feels very protective for some reasons .. yet more bouncy than expected .. really plush ride despite what others are saying on reddit .. I guess it comes down to your gait cycle and your weight .. I don't normally heel strike a lot but it just feels better in some shoes .. like SC trainer and more v4

    • @radoslavstoev4550
      @radoslavstoev4550 10 місяців тому +1

      For the price the Pace 3 is the best. Is has dual band gps, great reart rate accuracy and a great battery. The downsides are the materials(it's all plastic), the MIP screen(for me it's not a downside, because it is less battery heavy) and the lack of spotify support. I've been using the watch for a few months now and I am very happy with it.

    • @jkjoykim
      @jkjoykim 10 місяців тому

      I recently bought the Coros Pace 3 and have had no issues with it! Even with the dimmer MIP screen, I have personally not had any problems seeing things under various lightings, and the white background watch faces also help a lot too. I watched a BUNCH of review/comparison videos prior to pulling the plug, and it seems like at that price point, you can’t beat the Pace 3 unless you REALLY need that AMOLED screen and don’t care for as many stats (then go with the Garmin FR 165). If you want the best of both worlds and are willing to shell out an extra $200, then I think most people have said that Garmin FR 265 is the gold standard. overall though, I got my pace 3 solely for running and it’s been working like a gem.
      Also, battery life is great, love the option to use dual frequency for gps to track my runs more accurately, the watch is super lightweight, and I’ve seen many reviews where people have said Coros is more generous about software updates for most of their watches than Garmin.
      Only downside I’ve noticed so far is it’s not the most intuitive if you are an avid indoor treadmill runner. I’m planning on buying the Coros pod 2 to help with that, but I’ve messed up a few of my workouts because I was busy manually adjusting the grade and speed during my treadmill runs.
      As someone who switched from an Apple Watch, I cannot recommend Coros pace 3 enough!!!

    So you didn’t endlessly struggle with rocks, sticks, dog poo, or small woodland creatures getting stuck in the “clouds”?😂

      Actually, there was a lot of poo, and it was so difficult to clean out of the clouds. I went through so many toothbrushes to keep them clean.
      but On has paid me handsomely to downplay the cloud/poo dilemma, so I keep it quiet
