    125 ml or 1/2 a cup of warm milk
    2 tsps yeast
    1 egg (set some aside for brushing on top)
    2 cups of flour (+more for dusting)
    6 tbs white sugar
    1/4 tsp fine salt
    6 tbs melted butter
    Oil the dough each time before letting it sit.
    190 C/375 F for 25-30 minutes
    Let cool completely

    Why does the description say 125ml milk but the container of your glass say 1 cup milk?
    I tried making your recipe but during the kneading I didn’t activate the gluten, the dough barely rise, it was somewhat dried and dough was tough. Same thing during the 2nd hr of proofing. My dry yeast was fresh and new container.
    What do you suppose went wrong?

    Is the leaving it to rise part nessisary for it to work? Or does it just increase how much you end up with?

      idk if you still dont have an answer but yeah having your bread rise is necessary !! it lets the yeast do its work and etc youd have to google it if you want to know what goes on when bread rises but overall a necessary step

    I don't seem to be kneading my dough correctly or something. It always ends up breaking in fibrous patterns instead of stretching smoothly in the windowpane test. Any suggestions?

      You have to knead it until soft and smooth. To test, press the dough with your finger, if springs back and not sticky then your dough is ready.

      @@MaesKitchenandLiving Mine never seems to smooth out. I actually kept kneading it too long last time, to the point where I could barely manipulate it anymore, but it was still not smooth

      did u at least knead it HARD, for at least 10 minutes without a break, will all ur strength? If so , then I don't know, but if not , then i don't know

      @@propio2957 add more flour and keep kneading. Your first breads may end up with too much flour at first but you'll get the feel for hydration as you get better. I hope that helps!

      Sounds like something happened to your yeast. Use more or check that the milkis not too hot

    I never cook but I tried this for fun and it didn't rise. I guess there is a trick to make the yeast activate like the milk has to be a certain temperature. Idk, it was still good bread.

      @@judyhollywood3928 frog bread is just a loaf of bread that you shape to look like a frog! It's very cute and fun :). Just look up "frog bread" on yt and you'll be able to see it! Since making the frog bread I've also made mouse bread and bear bread haha

    This recipe/dough is my nemesis I've made it 4-5 times now, done everything precise and it will never rise - I've kept in a warm place I kept it covered I've tried plastic ,metal, glass bowls I don't know why it does not rise in a warm environment covered?? 🤷🏻‍♂️

      I wonder if your yeast is bad? Or perhaps it’s killed if any ingredients are too hot? Also heard salt of sugar can kill yeast but idk

      German Sweet Bread (Hefezopf)
      Ingredients:
      2 tsps yeast
      125ml warm milk
      1 large egg
      2 cups flour (plus extra for dusting)
      75g (6tbsps) white sugar
      1/4 tsp fine salt
      6 tbsps unsalted butter, melted
      Vegetable oil for greasing
      1 egg, beaten for glazing

      Kahit anong milk po sis or evap. Ako kapag walang fresh o evap nagtutunaw lang ako ng powdered milk.

    Could you explain please why are you using all purpose flower and no bread flower, I have follow your recipe to the point, however I’m still have an issue for the dough to RiceUp and I have follow instruction twice already, I’m still having the same problem can you please follow up with some instructions what exactly Am I doing wrong I made sure to test the Yest in warm milk to make sure is still life and not dead and it’s alive.

      You can use bread flour if you have. I only use all-purpose flour for my bread because I couldn’t find bread flour here. If the yeast isn't the problem try to rise dough inside the oven as it is the warmest place in the kitchen. Let it rise for 2 hours. After 2 hours punch the dough, plant and let it rise again for another 2 hours.

      I had same problem, dough was tough didn’t rise well, barely… I did mention that in her video the glass measures says 1 cup instead of the 1/2 cup of milk that is 12ml. Idk
