If you have an AMD card and want to deal with blur, shimmering and ghosting, open Virtual Resolution Scaling in Radeon settings, set your desktop and game to higher resolution (If you have 1080p monitor set it 2k, or if you have 2k set it to 4k). Then set your maximum resolution to %66 and set the upscaler as TAAU. Most of the blur will be gone and game will look much more better and sharper for little FPS loss. I tried FSR and XeSS mod too but TAAU gave much better result in 4k.
Check 10:05 (in the right side) U can see the bush pop in in 10 meters away from cloud (High settings) UE4/5 still suffer badly from pop in, even in higher quality settings It's like they add geometric (draw sitance) to appear if they like 50 meters away.. but suddenly they appear in like 10 meters away.. which kills the settings itself, and only fixed by mods (which will take fps hit) Also, shadows in this game is broken, U also need mods to use high shadows.. Oh well.. I guess we will wait another 3 months for some updates (I I doubt they will do).. and maybe FSR 3
As mixed as this port is still is quite impressive how well it can run on "low" end hardware, i wish FF16 pc port was like that, that game has no right to be as demanding as it is
If you don't care about looks, using fxvi fix and lowering LOD to lowest(higher might be possible, but I don't care for it, myself), improves performance a lot, optional, if on AMD/Intel, use dlss enabler mod for more performance compared to fsr 3(lossless is also great for frame generation, but I haven't tested my self) though frame generation isn't required(so far at least for me) there is an issue with frame generation, if below 40 fps(base fps, so lossless doesn't affect it) some battles will be slow motion, you can easily fix this by switching the upscaler option in game to any value and back again, even if fps isn't close to 40 I'm running the game on my steam deck at 640x400(more generated frames) at max settings almost, currently in the desert town, even now, fps is reaching 100, at native dlss, it's even close to it, still, can run game at almost 5 watt tdp, and still get 40 fps
It's UE5.. so it's will demand high FPS in either ways Lol UE engines need special optemzations above the Engine itsef (from developers) I heard it's work bad in 4K, slightly better in 1440p.. only 1080p tends to have decent fps
One thing worth mentioning is that, from my experience, pop-in in the game is influenced by your SSD. I always install games in my SATA SSD because I am still due to changing my nvme ssd for a higher storage one. It is recommended by SE that you use an SSD, but they don't recommend a type. By running the game on SATA, the pop-in becomes unbearable, loading textures and models in around 1-3 seconds after turning the camera and looking at them, and no amount of tweaking background model detail fixed it. When I changed to my NVMe, the issue became the widespread one that we hear everyone complaining about, where it is present, but it's more manageable. I am aware that nowadays, especially talking about newer generation games, NVMe's are a no brainer, but I've never encountered problems running games on a Sata SSD before, this was the first time. As of 01/27, another thing that I did was change from dlss 3 to 4. It makes the game noticeably more defined, but not making it too sharp, like a filter would. It also, funnily enough, enhanced performance in closed spaces and environments, such as buildings and towns, at least for me.
yeah i always noticed even on medium background detail i hardly ever notice pop-in like ive seen with other peoples at the same setting. but i have a gen 4 nvme ssd at 5500/5000 speeds. Direct storage is a great feature i love how the game launches and loads my save file in like 15-18 seconds from the desktop.
Funny you mention that. Someone at Steam forum found a fix. Rebirth uses a old version of DirectStorage. As a fix, the user took the DLL from FF16 (which has the updated DirectStorage). Once you replace it, no pop-in or texture streaming issues etc no more.
@@JamesMKE Load times are insanely fast. The game is well optimized, but faces some engine related issues still, like remake (intergrade). At least the horrible stuttering is gone.

@benchmarking4386 Great, thank you so much! :) I should be fine then since I set it to 60 in the NVIDIA control panel and my rig hits that cap consistently. Appreciate your answer! :)
@@benchmarking4386 Does this not mess with dynamic res? For instance, if the in-game target is 120fps but you're limiting it to 60 with RTSS, does dynamic res operate with 120fps in mind (thus lowering the resolution constantly)? Or does the game recognize: ''hey, the cap is actually 60fps, so lets increase the resolution'' ?
