i did same to my e46 3.0, but without removing the intake manifold nor disconnecting fuel rail. Just remove everything attached and around the intake manifold including throttle body assembly. just trying to provide helpful tip
José X thanks for your helpful comment. I knew is possible to do it without removing he intake manifold but.... 1. I wanted to do it that way for the viewers to have a better picture of how it looks underneath and to see what goes where. 2. It gives you the chance of replacing the manifold gasket. 3. I think is a matter of approach, however you feel comfortable to do it. Thanks again

next time remove the cabin air filter housing makes alot more room by the fire wall only two 13mm bolts then push up

also yoyu dont have to remove the fuel rail just disconnect the hose from the line
