Yup yup
haaa
Indeed!
I'm Korean, but living in Ohio, and I've had the hardest time finding a good place to get this - I found two places that have it, but both places have weird flavors to their jjajangmyeon. So, out of desperation (and strong STRONG cravings), I watched this, got all the ingredients, and attempted the 7 minute version - and I LOVED IT. It was the flavor I'd had in my memory of good jjajangmyeon, and I admit, I made it two days straight because I loved it so much. I made mine with onion and diced zucchini (which is what I remembered having in the jjajangmyeons of the past), and I nearly cried when I tasted it. It reminded me of when I used to live in Korea as a little girl. Thank you SO much Aaron - now, 7 minute jjampong and tangsuyuk, please? xD
Carrie Cole I'm so happy to hear that!!!😍😍😍 Don't worry about it! They're coming right up!
@@AaronandClaire Omg, yay, thank you so much! I'm looking forward to it!!
Another Korean in Ohio! I feel your struggle to find the best Korean food.
@@Violetlux6 *high five* The search for decent Korean food in Ohio is truly an epic and never-ending one.
I never realized why I love Korean food and some Asian foods so much. Not only do we incorporate so many vegetables into our "unhealthy" foods, we use a lot of umami flavors. Like in spades. The pull of Korean food is Strong.
CLAIRE MUST BE SO HAPPY TO HAVE SOMEONE COOK FOR HER EVERYDAY 🤧🤧
Lol. I know. So jelaus 🤣
Yeah usually its the other way around...
It might only be like twice a week lol... But she knows when he cooks it'll be dank af

I gotta tell you. I have no problem cooking for myself everyday. Never felt sad for myself bud.
I have to tell this story: I watch this video, pause it when Aaron shows the ingrdients, I took screen shots and ran to a local Asian grocery. I wandered around comparing the Korean letters on my screen shot to the similar looking packages in the store. I asked another customer if she cooks with Black Bean Paste she said she did and I showed her the screenshot. I told her I was following a recipe from Aaron and Claire on UA-cam. Her eyes lit up and she said "Yes! Claire eats everything he makes! What are you making?.. Ah! The famous Jjahjanmyeon!" Then she told me of another Asian store that has more Korean items. I went and found the exact same ingredient he used! Aaron and Claire you are famous in New York!😃
Haha That's so cute!!! Thank you for sharing that, Ruby! 😊
Aaron: "I said it...so if you forget it, I'm not responsible."
Me: 😂😂😂
Every elder brother who can say later, “I told you so!” 😂
He is so funny 😆
yeah he says korean black bean paste, but the package says chinese black beanpaste lol.
And the one I have ready in my cabinet is black bean paste from Lee Kum kee 😬
@@forsaken7161 I think he means "Korean" brand or version... as there are many brands/versions out there in the market, but yes the black bean paste is mostly a Chinese paste ;-)
“I know what you have in ur pantry....so skip it” 😂😂😂 he knows there’s NOTHING in my pantry 😩
I think you're pantry will be very full soon.
You always crack me up, Aaron. “You will get wasted.” Hmm now I’m thinking of playing it. 😜
Joyce Chang Don't you dare!🤣
Just tried your 7 minutes recipe, and I really love it. The flavour I think is even better than the Korean restaurant around my neighbourhood. I replaced the chicken stock with chicken cube and just add little bit of water. For the fresh noodle I replaced it with dried chinese style noodle and it works perfectly as well. I also added some zucchini for the sauce also. The 7 minutes method definitely is a lot simpler, just the preparation before cooking takes some time. Definitely gonna try it again. Thanks! 😍
These are by far the best cooking tutorials I’ve ever seen anywhere! Keep it up!
Glued Thank you for saying that 😍😍😍
Nah ysac is better
No way, i was just watching 'Extracurricular' on Netflix and there was a scene of a man eating Jjanjangmyeon and said to myself i want to try that. The next day you upload this! This is amazing, you know what i want hahaha! Thank you! :)
Wow, perfect timing!!! I'm so glad to hear that!! 🥰
It's pretty addictive
I love how the packaging says “ Chinese black bean paste” ha
If you don't know, Jjajangmyeon is the korean evolved version of Zhajiangmian. A Chinese dish that was brought to Korea in the 1900's.
사나 Sana ❤️ Mostly only Chinese restaurants make this dish.
@Trump Wilson I'm pretty sure China copies everything.
@Trump Wilson You do know that Korea is heavily influenced by Chinese culture? It's like saying America copies everything because of the heavy influence of Greek and Roman culture on it.
at least korean admit that jajangmyeon is originally chinese dish and they tweak it to suit local palate..... and im pretty sure biggest copy machine in the universe is.. ahem.. cough cough.. u know...
It's going to be summer soon: How about a quick Naengmyeon?
Tom Maynard That's a good idea!! Thanks!😍
Good idea indeed!
Mul naengmyeon pls
What’s that?(sorry I’m Hispanic and don’t really know it-)
@@destiny4129 cold noodles!
One of my favorite Korean dishes. I like it with a fried egg on top!!
Oohhh yeah you know what’s up
ever since the ramyun 9 ways video i trust this dude with my life
I have used this exact recipe multiple times over the last couple of months. I rarely ever comment, but this dish is restaurant quality and is perfect every single time. If you are thinking about doing this but are unsure, take the plunge it is worth it.
Made the 7-minute version for the first time tonight - it was SO EASY and tasted delicious! I don't eat pork, SO it's impossible to get jajangmyeon from restaurants in California. I substituted with some beef, and it was great! Thank you Aaron and Claire!!
I skipped the meat all together and used liquid smoke for taste ... YUM! 😗👌
I love how Claire has such a healthy appetite and the way she eats make me so hungry!!! Great recipe, I’ll try it!!
Is there such a thing as an "eating model"? I don't think we have this in the States. We have the idea that models aren't supposed to eat, and they would of course not want any "CARBS" or anything.... So, Claire, it's up to you!
Do you like the way she bosses Aaron around? Give me, give me...
This looks so good! I love how quick and to the point all your videos are.
I grew up eating zhajiangmian, which was region specific in China, so I was so surprised when I tasted jjajangmyeon for the first time! Thank you for the recipe - excited to make the Korean version of my favorite food :)
mina352 I haven't tried the original zhajiangmian yet!!! I want to try it so bad 🤤
@@AaronandClaire the bean curds are my favorite part of it 🙂
Thank you so much for the effort you put in these videos. Thanks to how easy and laid back you make the recipes feel, I've tried quite a few of them and they were all good! More than that, I've gotten really confident lately and have started to make changes to the recipes to fit my family's tastes. I'm usually someone who follows recipes religiously so this has been a huge change for me! Thank you!
Art with Lavi Good for you!!! I'm so happy to hear that!! Just remember cooking is different from baking!!🤣🤣🤣
You never fail to make me hungry 🥺
tired. 🤣🤣🤣
i appreciate how you speak in both korean and english! claire is very lucky to be the main food critic for these videos!
Love how you explained and added adlibs and comments to each sentences too. Keep going! 👍
Awesome! I just bought all my stuff last week to make this! Jjajameong is one of my favorites!
I laugh out loud when you mention Green Onion hahahahaha
Thank you for your videos, they are easy to follow and great! 👍👍👍
레시피 쉐어해주셔서 감사해요~ 너무 맛있네요~~ 덕분에 가족들과 맛있게 먹고있습니다!!! 감사해요~
EVERY TIME I SAY GREEN ONION, YOU DO A SHOT 😂
Thanks for this jjajangmyeon recipe! It looks so tasty and surprisingly easy to make. I like how you provided a 7 min and an even faster recipe for us lazy people 😂😊
this is BY FAR my favorite noodles channel here on UA-cam. keep it up buddy!
Cata Labrin Thanks buddy! 😁
Fantastic! Love your show.
It looks really good. Easy to follow instruction. i will definitely try it. Thank you for sharing it.
Claire's face while she was waiting for that was so CUTE!! Y'alls relationship is GOALSSS
Thanks! 🤣🤣🤣
Ohh finally 😂. Been looking for a quick and good recipe. Thank you!
I love your videos Aaron!! Simple and easy to follow
Love your food and commentary 🙌
"I kinda worry about if you guys are playing some drinking game, like every time I say 'green onion' you do a shot. Please don't. You will get super wasted."
LOLLL Aaron follows our fan comments very closely.
Even though you have an accent, your English is very impressive! Great recipe as always.
I love how Aaron always says if you use a substitute ingredient, he's not responsible!!! I love this couple! I'm a senior and started watching cause I've been ill with COVID. Have had to spend time in bed, and I discovered their channel. I love them!!!!
We recently got an Korean store in my town. I had this video saved for months waiting for the day that I could finally make it. I made it today and all I can say is perfection. Thank you so much for sharing 💕💕
I once tried an instant jjajangmyeon and it tasted meh. So when I tried it again in fancy Korean restaurant (because I believe every Korean dish must be delicious and I just had bad experience with the instant one), it was heaven! The only downside is just, we're in quarantine and... the price is pretty expensive.
So, thank you for the recipe. I'll grab Korean black bean paste when I do my next grocery shopping.
Yay! Hope you try it at home! 😊👩🍳
I remember tasting instant lasagne...😱
Funny you should mention instant jjajangmyeon which I didn't know existed until I saw it at my local Costco recently. It's from Taiwan, and I must say it had the taste I always associate with jjm but have not found in restaurants lately. Needless to say, I stocked up! But I'll still try making Aaron's simpler version sometime.
I just tried an instant one, and put fatty meat and vegetables and things in it, it was a little bland. Not bad, but I could have made the actual dish in maybe one or two minutes more! Sometimes we get lucky and find fatty pork meat in chunks, it's pretty tender and delicious and not expensive. So, if I'm going to do all THAT, why not fry some CHUNJANG in there, too! And my friends, I will be frying it in the pork oil!!!!
Hee hee same 🙈 When I sampled what the ajumma in the Korean supermarket made, I was like, "Oh yay! I get to eat more of this when I buy the packages." Unfortunately I couldn't make it to taste the same way as the ajumma made hers, so I just gave up on it. Potatoes were my favorite part of it. 😋🥔
Jjajangmyeon is one of my Korean foods, love it! I will try to cook your recipe
what a fun and brilliant video! thanks.
Thank you I loved it , your amazing .. please don't stop .
8:29 'oh yeah another jajangmyeon' will be my reaction too if I were Claire 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Lol "if they're selling it with pork belly they must be angels." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for the cooking tutorials. I’m not the best cook but I feel I can cook your recipes because of your directions. I have shared these videos with other cooking friends and they enjoy them as well. You and Clare make a good team. She explains the tastes so well that I feel I’m eating it too. Thank you!
Thank you! Hope you can try some! 🥰😆💕
Claire looks so happy!! 😊
*taking exam*
*looks at clock*
"Shit, it's green onion time."
🤣🤣🤣
Omg, I just got my gochujang in from Amazon and I can't wait to make food!!!!
Cadence Sherwood Yay!!! 😍
Will try to cook this one. Thanks for sharing
I love your videos! Up at 3am just binge watching them over again
I trust you, Aaron, and will follow your lead this this recipe.
chaifraps 🤣🤣🤣
Jajjangmyeong looks so good and tasty 😩 love this
Looks amazing Aaron! Thank you for this video
The best recipe I’ve tried, EVER!! Thank you!!
My family requests this recipe multiple times a week
My pleasure!! 😊That's sooooo nice to hear!! 😁
This looks delicious! I’m a Vegetarian though. Do you have a meatless version of this recipe?
Shannon X No pork and how about putting mushroom stock instead of chicken stock? 😉
Aaron and Claire : Sounds wonderful - thank you!
Substitute the meat with tofu (fried or whatever type you like), eggplant, and/or mushrooms (Shiitake, oyster, porcini). Substitute the chicken broth with any vegetable broth or kelp dashi. And Vegan Oyster Sauce do exist if you are full vegan. (Tip for eggplant: typically you'd want to fry eggplants to get the best texture out of them but steaming them also works as an alternative if you don't want to use too much oil)
Aaron and Claire I was just wondering the same thing, thank you 😍
Don't know where you are but better than bouillon makes vegan no chicken chicken base. I use that so much.
Whenever I watched Korean Drama, this noodles always makes me hungry. 😋
I guess that's why a lot of people know this food. 😁🤣🤣
Me too
This is by far the most detailed explanation i have watch . Thankyou im gonna try this because im missing jajangmyeon
These videos are making my quarantine better ty!
Well now I'm hungry again!
I know we've all *bean* there!
Aaron: You must get Korean product for this recipe
The packaging: Chinese
Listen to the man. He know what he talking about. that pack is Koreans version of a Chinese black bean sauce. Definitely taste different to the Chinese one I use .
Don't worry about it, it will taste good.
I so enjoy the videos. Aaron and Claire are adorable and very entertaining. You make it look very doable. I got black bean paste at the asian store near me and totally loved the flavor but didn't really know how to use it.. This recipe is being tested today. Thank you so much and keep up the great content.
감사합니다 Aaron and Claire this recipe is the bomb!
천만에요. My pleasure! Thanks! 🙏😊
"I know your're cooking while watching this..."
Me: eating cheap ramen while watching this.
CLAIRRRRRRRE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cyan Sin Wow! That's awesome!! 😍😍 Please tell us how it was!
I was just making this. Thank you!!
Tried making this recipe for dinner tonight and everyone in the house LOVED it!!!! Thanks Aaron & Claire! 😊😊😊
Aaron’s voice when speaking Korean sounds like the one in Korean Dramas. 😅😅
omg, I love the little dish for the kimchi! It's so cute!! Also, is it ok to substitute pork with chicken, or leave it out? I'm Muslim so I can't have pork
I was thinking about making it with beef.
Some restaurants make it with beef , so if possible, why don't you try that one? 😉
Awsome! Will definitly give it a try❤️ a fatty piece of beef will do 😉
That's a great idea! I'll try that out too!
Omg thanks i was wondering too
I BECOME ADDECTED TO jjajangmyeon.... I'CANT WAIT ON MY OFF DAY TO TRY THIS SIMPLE YET MOUTH WATERING RECIPE...
Claire's reaction is so raw and makes me really craves more.
Claire Unni! Is soo savage🔥 in a good way😂
Harini Murali She is the boss!🤣
@@AaronandClaire haha! As expected 😂
I'd rather have a drinking game with "I'm not responsible for that"🤣🤣🤣

I think both of you are awesome. Thanks for sharing this delicious recipe. Black bean noodles is one of my favorite meals.

Your voice is bit like J Hope's voice😍
Omg I thought the same thing
J-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPPEE
Yup... I was thinking too
Yesss at last a simple recipe of jangjangmion. I love it. It's so delicious.
This looks very good !!! I was always curious to make this and try it from scratch like this and not the instant version .t hanks so much for teaching us how to make it !! Doesn’t seem hard at all ! 😊
Aaron must be ashamed of himself. He is turning the beautiful Claire into Pavlov's dog.😋😜🤣😮
most jjangmyeon on korean cafes near me taste sweet and nothing else, maybe because the recipe isn't really authentic. I'm going to cook this instead
I love your videos keep making them
What an effectively taught and wholesome recipe ☺️☺️
Pork Belly is the most popular one in our family too haha love it! yes when 7mins homemade Jjajangmyeon has the same taste as the restaurant version, we'll go with homemade :) nice recipe guys! how you guys doing there??
AnS Episodes Please let us know how it was!!! and we're doing great!! Thanks! 😍😍
I literally have no ingredients but love jajjangmyeon
I am so sad
And I live in a country where you can’t get almost anything from Amazon 😓😭
Wow! Thank you so much for this! I miss love these from my favorite delivery spot in Seoul! And jokbal! I really miss jokbal!
Eating this right now! Thanks for the recipe :)
But you can't compared the taste with the instant jjajangmyeon ramen, right?
Ayca 《》Totally different! 😍
does anybody think he sounds like jhope from bts??
Nice job! Frying the black bean paste def brings out the flavor 👍👍
YUMMY! My daughter and I are making this soon!~
“I know what you have in your pantry so let’s skip it” lmaooo because I don’t have whatever that is.
Me:Nothing
Aaron: And of course GREEN ONIONS
Me: The more green onions the more delicious
😆😆😆
Omg I must try thank you!!
I need to acquire all these supplies and a kitchen. Looks so delicious! Appreciate the hilarious commentary as well
