El Toro Zoysia Plug Update - Week 10

Week 10 on the grow in and I can’t imagine another zoysia variety that can spread this fast. After all, other varieties can take two years to establish.
We learned that shade will slow the spread rate and full sun will speed it up. Our extreme dry condition has been a set back so far but it is moving at an excellent rate. I also realized that I only show you the worst parts of this grow in. We’ll have to change that on out next update.
I think that using bio-stimulants in combination with fertilizer is 100% beneficial.

It’s time to consider using a pre-emergent herbicide. I am not going to use it on my plugged area but I will demonstrate how to apply it on my test plots.
