I’m sure it’s obvious to a lot of people, but to anyone that it isn’t…
When Winnie absorbed all that power her eyes glowed the same colour as the witch we see in the flashback, before her sisters - her coven - disintegrates. And the witch, when asked where her coven was, alluded to the fact that they weren’t alive. Because she too had cast the spell to become all-powerful and lost everyone she cared about, hence why she made the girls promise to never cast the spell. She was trying to spare them the same fate that she had.
Finally I see someone commenting on this! I have not seen anyone mention this anywhere!
@@hexalfac It also explains why Book kept closing on Winnie when she tried reading the spell - it’d seen the pain the spell had caused before and wanted spare her.
Yeah I had put two and two together and it's a nice touch/easter egg. You're the first one that I hear/read point it out though
I think the mother witch is still alive. We see her crow following the girls at the end of the movie.
@@iceheart974 She definitely is, that all-powerful spell likely included immortality. Hell, we even saw Binks cursed with that in the first one, though of course he was STUCK as an animal.
that fact that those Roombas are just Mary's "enchanted pets" the whole movie is the silliest aspect that I honestly don't mind lol
Enchanted pets is something I'm gonna call Roomba from now on because we already call Roombas our babies and pets...
That and the fact that Sarah was on a Swiffer this time instead of a mop always make me laugh sooo hard!!

I already cried seeing this movie's ending the first time but now I just full on sobbed with Rizzo's tribute added to it. I wish more people liked the ending. It's meant to be a bittersweet one as we most likely we never see these three women together as the sisters on a screen again. It's a farewell to the women who made the Hocus Pocus franchise what it is today - before Disney creates a new show/movie series following these three new characters (who have some big shoes to fill).
The most unrealistic aspect of this is that none of them ended up in a bathroom somewhere after eating all those beauty products. 😂

My family thought it was weird for me that the witches turned to dust I cried. But I don’t care, somehow I cried for Winnie and her sisters even after with what happened. God this movie tugged on my heart strings.

Can confirm, showed the 1st one to my 6 and 8 year olds this year, and my mom friends told me it might awaken the question of "what is a virgin?" Thankfully the kids never asked 😬

So glad you pointed out 1. How amazing the actress that plays Young Winnie is (you can tell she really studied the first movie) and 2. Billy's sudden accent?? I haven't seen anyone else mention it and it drove me nuts the entire movie.
Also, even in the first one Garry Marshall's character was like "It's the Sanderson Sisters, right?" so people have at least a vague concept of what they would look like or at least know enough that 3 witches together with a red haired leader = Sanderson sisters.
Billy's accent... Nearly took me out of the movie.

I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with you lol… Even if he had a faint accent in the first movie, it was just that, Faint. And I’m specifically referencing when he calls Winne a “bucktoothed firefly form hell”. He didn’t talk a lot in the last movie but he did talk and you didn’t hear or barely noticed an accent. And in this one the first two words out of his mouth had a HEAVY accent. If you apply the accent from this movie to the last one, The few lines he had would’ve sounded very different 😅

I cried at the end too because they remind me so much of my mom and her sisters, and although they are separated by distance I'm fortunate enough that they are still here. I agree that this didn't quite capture the charm of the first one but it was still a great legacy sequel and such a fun time. I actually liked it even more the second time. The songs didn't hit for me either but definitely grew on me the next time around!

I've been saying this since I saw th movie. The book is literally full of evil spells, is made of human skin and might still be from the devil. The reuniting spell is literally a spell that kills the target to reunite them with a loved one. And those girls are keeping it...WHY!?

If it helps...in the first movie the LEGEND said they got the book from the devil. I don't think the sisters ever confirmed that. Maybe that will help people feel better. Lol
I think I saw someone point out that Dani is dressed as the Mother Witch in the first movie. Cool tie in. 😊 Also I love how chaotically threatening Mary is in this movie.
Mary was always my favorite, even as a little girl when the first one came out... but now the roombas...just make me adore her.

Idk if anyone said this, BUT in the real world when they say "Virgin" for witchcraft, they mean anyone who hasn't used their blood in the craft. So technically, anyone can be used if they haven't used their blood for any spell! 🖤💜

There is an after credits scene leaving the door open for a 3rd movie. I liked this one. I thought you nailed it when saying this was a good companion piece adapted to current times.
The original 3 looked like they had so much fun doing this sequel. I too felt bad for them and rooted for them even knowing their the villains and have done terrible things. Btw love the Star Wars edits bc those went exactly with the movie scenes to a tee. 👍
I got the Angelica joke at the same moment as Rizzo. 😂😂 It's so bad, yet so good. 😂

Actually I remember very distinctly crying at the end of this movie because I live so far from my sisters, but when the movie came out they were visiting and we watched it together before they had to leave
The second hand grief of thinking about a world without them really tore my day up and while I was sad to see them leave to go live their life I’m thankful I still have them with me
Loved this! And loved that you both enjoyed that the mayor's entire plot point was to get his favorite caramel apple! That was the silliest and most hilarious part of this movie for me. And the random flash mob in the middle! lol Agreed fully that it didn't hit the exact same way as the first, but definitely brought back some nostalgia and warm feels!

Loved this movie. Made me laugh. Nearly made me cry. The ladies killed it. I wanted them to be alive and together which is a testament to the writing and the acting. But, of course they had to go off. How else would they have made another one.

My husband and I watched Hocus Pocus and then Hocus Pocus 2 the next night. I was admittedly worried to watch the sequel, worried it would be awful, but we both liked it. My husband said he preferred the sequel. lol The ending was very heartwarming.

I cried at the ending too especially being the middle one of three sisters (and one brother) but yeah it just made me think of how devastated I’d be if I were ever to lose them. Also I’m sorry for your loss, Rizzo. Rip to your mom and aunt 🙏🏽

I agree on your opinions of the movie. Rizzo said it the way I felt it: it was exactly what I expected in a good way. Loved the nostalgia and the throwbacks to the first. I loved how we got more backstory to the Sanderson sisters, but the songs weren't a hit for me either. though still fun.
Rizzo, I am so sorry about your big losses and my sincere condolences and well wishes to you and your family in these hard times. I totally understand how watching this movie with the grief so fresh made you cry a few times. Your mom and aunts look lovely and I totally get how your aunt reminds you of Bette Midler, she looks a bit like her! I hope she'll be around for years to come.
I've watched other reactors make a joke about Angelica Leaves (all very funny) but this one has been the best yet lol!

I just watched this last night because I wanted to have seen it before I watched your reaction and I'm so glad I did!! This was great, y'all had me screaming with the commentary!! I definitely had moments like Rizzo with the where'd they learn that!! I think (and I could be wrong) the "cowabunga" Mary picked that up from the first movie because I'm pretty sure either Ice and Jay or Max said it at some point and it might have been when they were in the cages...but I could have just made that up so I wouldn't question it lol! Again I'm sorry for your loss Rizzo, it was a touching tribute to your mom and aunts, I really wanted to give you a hug...so sending hugs. Amazing reaction as always!!

What the youngsters don’t know is that the 90’s charm and feeling was all thanks to Garry Marshall (the “master” in the first one) who helped change the first one to a funny movie rather than the original scary movie it was meant as.
He helped change MANY films to their charming magical state (Pretty Woman is a HUGE example as the original film had Julia Roberts’ character die at the end).
So the sequel didn’t have the charm because Garry Marshall passed away in 2016.
So yes seeing the sequel and the first as two separate films is the best thing.
Especially since the original kids didn’t appear so it’s a new adventure.

I am so sorry, Rizzo. I cried already but when you told about your loss I full on bawled. I lost my oldest and first friend to suicide and grief can trigger so hard. Your videos always make me feel better, in a way that five different meds don´t. I rewatch when it is an especially depressive time and you guys make me feel happy for a while. I wonder if they are to make another film of the new coven of Witches. I was surprised in the reaction of the Book, allowing the book to have a choice. However it is a great surprise I enjoyed.
